Impressive food and beautiful presentation! We stopped in here to see what all the hype was on Unilocal and trip adviser. It’s a little house turned into a fine dining experience. Everything is handmade from the chip & guacamole to the entrees & desserts. Family owned and operated. I only wish they opened another location in Los Angeles!

We are living in a small town near Palm Springs, Ca. WE will need to drive nearly 500 miles back to Benson, Az. To have a lunch as good as we just had in this great restaurant. Everything was just so fine! I couldn’t believe we would find any lunch or dinner this good way out here in the small town of Benson. Everything from the great COOKS to the help that meets you at the door. Sorry I can’t give you more STARS!!! WEWILLBEBACK.

My favorite spot in Benson to have lunch when traveling on business. Everything is great! Love the shrimp tacos. Easy to miss from the road and well worth the stop.

Outstanding does not begin to describe the nice people and great food here. Don’t follow googles directions as you will end up behind the place. If you have to eat in Benson, go here!

Omg! The best tex mex restaurant! So Delish and its family owned. Coming from L.A. With all so many restaurants to choose from, this place needs to be located to Los Angeles. It’s a cute and unpretentious place to eat. Love every bite. I will make sure to visit this place again. Don’t forget to order enchiladas and mi casa sauce!

Nice food, way too expensive flan, if it were cheaper like 2 dollars and 50 cents I would buy every Thursday.

Unilocal reviewers came through on this one! We were in the area for the Kartchner Cave tour and it is on the way to Tombstone too. Pulled up the Unilocal app, saw what is around and tried it out. Yes, it really is good. Yes, the carrot cake is awesome. My son wants to fly back to Arizona to eat here for his birthday.

Like others mentioned, this place is easy to go by, then once you see it from the outside you’re thinking. Hmmm, pretty small place, well there’s plenty of cars so let’s try it out. When you walk in, then you’re thinking. OK!, pretty nice cute place. Then the good part, the food is EXCELLENT! It tastes great and presentation is the BEST I’ve ever seen in a Mexican restaurant BYFAR I’ll try to post pictures… A work of art you hate to mess up but glad you did

Wow! I was in Benson for business, and a colleague told me to try out this place. DE-licious! I couldn’t find it because there were so many cars out front that the restaurant’s sign was blocked from view. When you see the rock shop, turn in! It’s to the right of the rock shop inside a chain link fence. The restaurant is tiny and there was a long line, but I waited it out — it only took 15 min. The staff were in the weeds and stressed out, but they were still nice and the food was amazing. I had a cheese enchilada and a chili relleno. I am super picky about chili relleno dishes, but after one bite, I wished I had ordered two! The enchilada was not a run of the mill enchilada either — it was perfect! They could easily double the size of this clean quaint restaurant and still have a line out the door. I can imagine that people must travel from all over southeast AZ to eat here — I know I will if I am within 50 miles!

We luckily stumbled upon this restaurant on our roadtrip from Seattle to Florida. The enchiladas were amazing. We also had the flan and carrotcake which were so delicious and rich! These two desserts are a mist. Do not leave without tasting these. I did not care for the salsa because of the consistency but my boyfriend loved it. The chips are hand made. Highly recommended!

Stopped for lunch. The reason for 3 stars is it did not meet our expectations of Mexican fare from this region. The chips served with salsa were way above average. They were homemade and seasoned perfectly, but it was not salsa that came with them, more of a chutney. It also was very good. My husband and I both ordered the Arizona Chimichanga. The presentation was beautiful, if you are into that, we are more interested in flavor and this dish fell short in that regard, as did the beans and rice. We are from Michigan and would consider the favor Midwest mild. Also for the prices they charge they can afford to mark their location better.

Great off-the-beaten-path Mexican restaurant. I had the enchiladas banderas and it was so tasty, loved the difference sauces that came with it. Their guacamole was a little strange, not as creamy/spreadable as most are used to but still good. I highly suggest this restaurant if you are in the area.

First time visit arrived about 5:45pm and had about a 20 minute wait. We came here on the recommendation of the Unilocal reviews and the photos posted by the contributors. Don’t be deceived by the appearance of the exterior. The building is small and is positioned in the back of a dirt lot surrounded by a chain link fence. Inside, the dining area is very small and will accommodate less than 30 people. The décor is typically southwest/Mexican and seems very clean. Menu is extensive and very reasonable. Service was excellent and food was brought very quickly. The food presentation is marvelous and a work of art. Food was extremely good and the carrot cake was the best ever! I highly recommend this local gem of a restaurant.

Small spot that you’ll miss if you’re not careful. Seated quickly, drinks out quickly. Wife and I ordered the Steak fajita skillet to share. Skillet came out sizzling with a ton of sides. Guacamole, salsa, red rice, beans, and 2 large tortillas. Food was great. Wife and I kept saying«That would be so much food for 1 person.» Full and happy. It’s the type of place you make it a point to take out of town friends/family to.

Quaint little place off the beaten path. The salsa they serve is not your traditional red sauce. It looks like whale vomit but it is actually pretty good. Hahaha. The shrimp fajitas were delicious and my friend had the Arizona chimichanga which was also great. My only disappointment was the guacamole. It was nice and chunky but it could have used a little more lime and avocado. The service was FANTASTIC! Great service and everyone was very kind. Some patrons walking out of the restaurant immediately told us «There’s some good food in there» and they were not mistaken. Definitely plan to stop here again if I’m ever driving through here.

If you are near Benson, you need to make a detour and check this place out. Only 24 chairs indoors… we actually drove by it and had to backtrack to find it tucked away off the road. No alcohol here, but not an issue at all. The food is the main attraction. The salsa that comes out with the chips is very unique, with a hint of sweetness and an orange hue. Excellent! Enchiladas banderas are good enough to make this is a destination place just to enjoy that dish. You MUST finish your meal with the carrot cake. I’m not a dessert person, and I was racing to eat my fair share of the plate while allowing my kids to have some, too. Great job to the husband/owners of this gem in the desert!

We ate here a bit over a year ago, and since we were in town, had to stop back in. Small little place, but amazing food. Can be hard to find since it is set back from the street. We ordered guacamole and chips. The guac was different than any we have ever had, but was wonderful. The chips are fresh, light and not greasy. We both ordered the 3 enchilada plate, hubby had chicken, I chose cheese. The chicken was juicy and well flavored and had a generous amount. Both plates came with beans and rice, which were excellent. Also, we opted to have our enchiladas topped with red sauce. The red sauce was amazing, spicy, but not too hot. My cheese enchiladas were very good. Unfortunately we were too full to have a piece of the famed carrot cake. Maybe next time.
