Ran into the owner Stacey(sp?) and she helped an out of towner with an awesome cherry popover. The cinnamon roll is quite tasty as well. Haven’t had the pumpkin bread yet, but am looking forward to it. Her helpful attitude and willingness to help me after she was technically closed made this a GREAT experience.

My husbands from the area, and every time we come up we try a few new places. This quaint bakery, has a selection of fresh breads, baked goods, cakes, and sandwiches. If you haven’t been here you should definitely try it!

Have been to Black Mountain many times but have never been here. We were on a «Foodie Tour» of six Black Mountain restaurants. The BM Bakery was a real find. If you are looking for a place to eat lunch, you will not be disappointed with the BM Bakery, fresh soups, great sandwiches and unusual mouth watering bread

Warm cinnamon, yeast and sugar fill the air when you first walk in. Tables to the left and fairly small bakery case to the right. What was my mistake? Arriving at a bakery in the afternoon. Pretty much most everything has been sold by then. What was left? A few precious morsels. I can judge a bakery on how they make a croissant. This one was light crispy, buttery and both peeled and flaked apart at the same time. Maybe sometime I can actually get there in the morning and see what they really can do.

We are on vacation in Asheville & spent the day in Black Mountain. Of the many places to choose from we decided to have lunch at Black Mountain Bakery and that was a great decision! It was on a side street off the busy shopping area on a quiet, shady street. You walk in an immediately smell bread & pastries, how much better can it get? We had a great lunch of chicken salad on cranberry walnut bread with fruit on the side. I noticed locals coming in & the proprietor knew their order. We are here for a week & will go again before we leave.

Excellent and novel pastries. Went in looking for the usual suspects(cinnamon rolls, muffins, turnovers), which they had, but also found some classics with a twist. A peanut butter chocolate chip roll was fantastic, as was a puff pastry tart with mango and marzipan. I didn’t get to the savory or lunch options, but there’s always the next visit to Black Mountain.

Once upon a time ago I worked at BMB. After living in Black Mountain for 4 years, I never knew it existed until I started working there… and boy was I missing out! These guys know how to bake and the wedding cakes are AMAZING! Try the fresh bread, it’s awesome. And the chicken salad… wow. Mouthwatering. The only complaint about this place is the coffee, and that’s why I gave it four stars. But it’s not a huge deal because the Drip is just a hop across the street. Walking into this place is like walking into family.
