Used to love Cobbys as a kid… went today for a solo lunch…9 bucks for a ruben that had no cheese not toasted and meat although it looked as if he was pulling it out of a steam table was ice cold. By far the worst Ruben I have ever had. :(

This was trixy – so! If you don’t like Kombucha, then take this review as a 3, lol. The sandwich was really good – a French Dip on Focaccia with some pepper jack. Great fluffy bread, dense and the au ju was really hot, but good. I also got a cup of chili … which was so hot, I’m certain that within the tiny mouth of styrofoam was a gateway to the throne of Hades himself. I got maybe a bite or two until I couldn’t feel my tongue and bailed on the prospects of meeting the Lord of Hell… So, why did this jump back from a 3 to a 4? 3 words: Coconut Lime Kombucha. BOOYAH.

YUCK! 35.00 for 3 awful sandwiches, spoiled potato salad, warm mayonaise, bad customer service, one piece of lettuce… NEVERAGAIN!

Went in to pick up some sandwiches and spent $ 45 on 4 sandwiches… $ 45!!! Got home only to discover we had been screwed on the meat in our sandwiches! We may as well have been eating day old bread with a minuscule swipe of mayo. Got nipped on our chips as well I would recommend checking out your sandwich before they wrap it up behind their big privacy wall — or– better yet get a truly satisfying sub across the street at Subway for a third of the price! Called to tell the manager of our displeasure & she made no attempt at reparation — just said«thank you for letting us know» as if Id called to compliment them. We won’t be back.

A true Boise staple. I’ve been going to Cobby’s since I was a kid. The best clam chowder and sandwiches. Love the fruit and chips –my son was in disbelief we didn’t have to pay extra for it. Always good food and best of all, always great service. Skip your Subway or Jimmy Johns and hit up Cobby’s

This place sucks! Crap ingredients at premium prices. 17 dollars for two stupid boring sandwiches. Bleubirds downtown is now my craving. Boooooo!!!(Creepy logo also)

I have been to cobbys before but it’s been a while. From what I remember it wasn’t anything special. While this Visit was pretty much the same. There was nothing that stood out about the food. Yes I am sure it’s probably a way better quality then your typical fast food sand which place but that’s where it stops IMO. Would I eat here again, maybe. I wouldn’t not eat here but it’s just not a place that I crave for any stress of imagination

I love me a good sandwich, and Cobby’s is by far one of the best places out there. There’s no question whether or not their meat and veggies are fresh. Everything is made to order right then and there, and each sandwich includes unlimited fruit and chips. My dad and I were instantly impressed!

Love the local atmosphere and fresh veggies. The sandwiches are delicious and come in a variety of choices. Friendly staff. The soups are also great and the chips or fruit is included! I come to Cobbys over any other sandwich place in the area.

Bad service. I waited with my daughter at the counter for almost 5 min and no one came out to help. I could hear them laughing in the back. We ended up going to a local sandwich place up the road. My boss recommended Cobby’s. What a bummer!

Don’t let the dated décor deter you. A Boise staple for as long as I can remember. Their sandwiches are great, and soup is delicious. My husband loves to get a bread bowl with clamp chowder. I like either a simple turkey sandwich or French dip. You grt all the chips & little apples you can eat.

Such deliciousness! I highly recommend their soup/sandwich combo option. All their breads, soups and meats are so fresh and sandwiches are made exactly to order.

Unlike some people that visit a place once and write a review. I have been eating at one Cobby’s or another for over 30 years. It is the go to sandwich shop in the Boise area. It has the most consistent and fast service of any of the other sandwich shops. Nice daily special, good salad bar, fruit, and all the chips you need.

Simply put, cobby’s takes the simplicity of a submarine sandwich and through some sort of wizardry, turns it into a memorable experience for your mouth. Quality meats and cheeses come together with beautifully soft fresh rolls and a variety of other condiments to create something mouth watering and delicious. It’s a bit pricey for a sandwich really, but you get what you pay for. That being said, the first time I ordered a sandwich at cobby’s I have to say I was pretty hungry at the time, so I ordered a large number 15;now I’m a pretty big fellow and have been known to down a large pizza for myself, but halfway through this giant sub I called it quits, saved the other half and had it for a late dinner that night. like I said, you get what you pay for… Lol. I would definitely recommend this place if you are craving a submarine sandwich. 10⁄10!

The best sandwich and soup(clam chowder) in the state. Avoid at 12pm lunchtime unless you have an hour to wait. Everything taste fresh and I highly recommend dunking your sandwich in the soup.

Cobby’s is a local favorite. I was turned on too the restaurant when I went to Boise State. They have a location on Broadway that I was a regular at. I have now switched to the Overland location as my primary Cobby’s. They store layouts are all roughly the same, but each has their own charms and quirks. A common complaint that you will hear is the oversized counter you order from. I’m 6’4″ and it comes to just below my chin. I assume most people look straight into the wood while ordering. This might not be a problem, but some people like to see their sandwich made instead of «hidden». The food selection is great and the meats all seem fresh. The bread can be hit and miss so I make it a point to request looking at the bread before I order. I like the faccacia and it isn’t always made consistent. The prices are a bit higher than an average subway shop, but the quality of food and services make up for the higher price. To top it off they offer free chips and fruit with all sandwiches. I wouldn’t go to Cobby’s daily because of the prices, but I do think of it as my biweekly treat.

Egg salad sandwich totally runny and gross. I went to talk about it with the worker(short blonde female) and she basically blew me off. She confirmed that her manager(tall blonde female) was standing 2 feet away making a sandwich, I know she heard and didn’t say anything. Crappy food, and equally poor service. NOTRETURNINGEVER.

Bad? Don’t waste your time? Obviously some of you haven’t been out of a subway or a blimpie. If you’d rather get a bigger sandwich and premium ingredients, try cobbys. If you’re okay with eating sub par meats, and veggies on a yoga mat, continue going to subway and blimpie. Cobby’s is doing it right. And the owner actually works, takes deliveries and runs supplies to all locations. Find me an Owner that does that kind of work for his own company.
