My boyfriend and I have only been here once but it was fabulous. I did the 3 course meal with wine pairings. I was a little wary of the wine pairings because my boyfriend and I had been to the winery and didn’t have such a great tasting experience. The chef sent out a complimentary crab cake, the presentation itself was beautiful and of course delicious. My first course was the beet and goat cheese salad with dry pear wine. I love the dry pear wine and will definitely pick some up at the winery next door! The salad was fresh and delicious. My boyfriend got the fondue and it was also great. They served it with apples which I thought was a great idea. Our meals came and I had the salmon with quinoa and the salmon was cooked perfectly. My boyfriend loved it too. He had the rare tuna special and it was really good but we both agreed we liked the salmon more. I didn’t care for my wine pairing but I’m not a big white wine fan if it’s too sweet, I can’t even remember which one it was. Dessert came and we were both pretty full we split my cappuccino crème brûlée and it was awesome. The atmosphere itself is something to check out. It’s very cozy and a perfect place for a date night. We are so lucky to have this place right down the street! Can’t wait to try their brunch!

Wonderful place for lunch after a tasting. The prices are about what you expect from a moderately upscale restaurant, and the food is worth the trip, even if you don’t visit the winery next door. Good pairing suggestions too. Recommend you call for reservations on a busy day. I found J’s by accident. A friend & I sorta… drank too much at the winery and found ourselves with the need to fill our bellies. The cashier was kind enough to call J’s and make us a reservation. It sure beat a lunch of cheese and crackers!

I went to J’s in Mid-November for my anniversary. I had heard/read amazing reviews and was looking forward to the visit but unfortunately I was not impressed. To start, when we arrived to our reservation we were about 7 minutes late and the hostess made it very clear she was not happy saying something to the effect of «oh wow, you’re late, let’s see if we can get a table together.» I understand that we were a few minutes late but from my understanding, most reputable places hold tables for 15 mins and none make a fuss about you running a few minutes late nor do they make it obvious that they gave your table away(apparently seeing as we had to wait 20 minutes for our table to be prepared). The food was good, not amazing, over priced considering there was no «wow» factor. Service took a while but overall our waitress was nice. Probably the most shocking was that their wine list prices were TWICE as much(or more) than how much they were offering them at the vineyard a few feet away. I understand the restaurant needs to make money but not even 45 minutes earlier I had bought a few bottles of wine at the vineyard and now I am sitting at the restaurant a few feet away looking at the same exact wine for two to three times the price. Overall I would say it’s an average ATMOST experience and I would go there with good company and no expectations.

I can’t say enough good things about this restaurant. It was my first time eating at J’s Restaurant, and I completely messed up our reservation. I realized on a Saturday night, an hour before we were to arrive at the restaurant that I had made the reservation for the following week. I called in a panic, and although they were booked up they managed to fit us in at the time I needed. We were seated as soon as we arrived and all of our meals and wine were delicious. The service was outstanding as well. I would definitely recommend J’s Restaurant at Nashoba Valley Winery.

I was at an event there so i do not know the price/value but i can comment on the food quality and service. The variety and quality of the appetizers were really good, i thought the quality of cheese(especially the blue cheese) was great. at dinner i had the strip steak that was ordered medium rare and came out medium+ and was cool with a burnt flavor. The potatoes also had the same burnt flavor. I did not eat it. The server never asked how it was and removed the plate with only one bite taken and never asked. I was at an event so i just drank my wine and observed. I do not think i would be back for the food but the wine, ambience, location make worth a possible second chance.

Went for lunch last Thursday. I live in Bolton and and I brought a local client here. The food was great and our service was excellent(Kristine) which I can say was a change from the other high end restaurant in Bolton where I have brought clients in the past. The service was also fast, which was also great. We also had glasses of wine, which were really good also. I have to say I will be back again soon for dinner! And plan to bring clients here more in the future! It was really busy but still, that did not effect our food or service. It was definitely a nice change from the ordinary.

Their new(ish) chef always outdoes himself with the summer menu. This summer is no exception: I had one of the most delicious salmon dishes(grilled Scottish salmon with caramelized hearts of palm, celery root purée, buttered romanesco and a citrus vinaigrette), and an amazingly perfect Meyer lemon crème brûlée(perfect consistency and not too lemony). I suggest getting the wine pairings as I really enjoy Nashoba Valley’s winery and this is a great opportunity to sample some of their bests. J’s cannot be beaten for its ambience — great place for a romantic dinner!

Had a pretty good experience. We have been here many times for tastings, filling a growler, sitting out and having a drink. But never to the actual restaurant. The food was delicious, a little pricey but that is too be expected if you look at menu and situation ahead of time. Although I am a guy that would rather get a solid sized plate if I’m paying 40 bones for steak. But that is just me, I am admittedly a simpleton. What killed me was when an employee knocked over my wife’s glass of wine, the spilled wine was not the problem! The waitress was, she asked my wife how much of the wine she had left so she knew how much to fill the replacement glass !!! Not, I’m sorry, let me get you a fresh glass. But let me get you a precisely portioned out amount because of course you measure your wine after each sip. What, you are gonna nickle and dime us on a 10 dollar glass of wine, that I have bought a bottle of in your store for 14 bucks? after spending over 100 that night for 2. Disapointed

Went for our anniversary dinner and I should start off by saying the food was fantastic-as the other reviews will attest. Small menu selection but the choices were varied and what I had(scallops) was delicious. My only qualm was when the bus boy spilt my half drunk glass of wine(total accident, he was so sweet), our waitress came back and apologized and said she’d get a new glass– but«how much was left in my glass?» Really? I’m paying $ 140 for my husband and I to have dinner and you ask me how much wine I drank? Seemed cheap considering we’re at a winery and it’s an upscale restaurant. I’m honestly not sure if I’d return, I’d perhaps try another speciality restaurant for a special night out.

Great meal last night. We enjoyed the wait staff who all were so professional and fun. They made it a perfect experience. I appreciate that there don’t over book seating, it allows them the ability to give you their best ! Thanks J’s! See you soon

we had a wonderful Easter Brunch at the Winery this year with the family. A great variety of foods, which were very well prepared and nicely presented. The meal was overshadowed, however, by several pieces of dirty sliverware, glasses and plates which was quite surprising. Its still worth four stars!

I love eating here!!! My family and I have been in for brunch a handful of times now, and it is always delicious. Finally got in for dinner on my birthday, it was great! Also, the wine is so good. Great place!

I like coming here for special occasions. It’s a nice treat. The brunch buffet is full of really yummy things, with no set menu. I’ve had some great soups, and some unbelievable baked French toast dishes. The breakfast cocktails are also great, most(all?) made with wine/liquor made on-site at the winery. I had a concoction of fruit wine and orange juice that I really enjoyed.

Excellent place for a fancy meal. The wine was quite good. The service was just right, and they were very accommodating when we were late.

Just went to J’s this past weekend with my boyfriend and I must say, this is a quaint little restaurant with a comfy feel to it. Very small spot, but not too many people are rushing to eat at the winery… most people perfer to tour around and do some tastings. Either way, it’s nothing too fancy, very small menu. I had to turkey blt paired with the recommended paired wine(which was absolutely delicious) and my boyfriend had the salmon with the house pale ale(which he claimed to be average). The service is average as well, nothing to complain about, but nothing to rave about either. Like I said, you’re there for the winery, not the restaurant. I wouldn’t make it a top priority when visiting Nashoba Vallery, but if you’re hungry, it gets the job done.

We had a great lunch here today. My wife had the grilled salmon and I ate light with a beet-and-goat-cheese salad and a cup of coffee. Both were very good. I posted photos of both. They have a wine list and 5 taps for their own wines and ales, but it was snowing and we had a lot of driving still to do so we had to forego the wine. The service was good enough, but I think our server had some other project going on. Two other tables had very attentive service. We were not ignored, it was just a little bit slow. The ambience is very pleasant, with nice views across the orchards. Last year we enjoyed their famous Sunday brunch, too.

This is the best place for brunch that I have found in the Worcester Area. It is my «go to» place when I want to spend some time with food and friends for conversation at a relaxed place with excellent service and wonderful views. I go every couple of months or so and have always had a great meal from the buffet line. And this is no ordinary buffet line where you can close your eyes and pretty much call out the items. No, this is gourmet food that changes every time I go and is offered at a standard brunch price of 27 $/pp. No food is offered via menu but you can order a number of refreshing drinks made with wines from the Nashoba Valley Winery such as several types of Bellinis. Another nice touch is being able to have coffee made via a French Press. The dining room is made in the style of the 1800s, very authentic looking to recreate the look lost when the building had a fire in the 1920s. Great views out onto gardens and vineyard. The tasting shop which offers homemade beers and whiskey as well as the expected fruit wines. The servers add to the experience as they enjoy their jobs and it shows in their polite and sincerely friendly service. Treat yourself.

Last week was our annual«visit to the winery and lunch at J’s“outing. I figured it was time to write a review since I have been coming here for many years now. The restaurant is in an older rustic farm house. It looks like it is from the 1800’s but the hostess informed us that it was rebuilt in the 1920’s after a fire(still pretty old). The atmosphere is very cozy inside. It’s best to make a reservation because there aren’t many tables and it’s a pretty popular lunch spot. For most of our meal we had the entire upstairs dining room to ourselves. It was wonderful. Sarah(I believe), was our server and she was very sweet, knowledgeable and attentive. I must also note that the hostess came upstairs at one point to check on us(that’s when she told us the story of the house). It was very sweet of her to go out of her way and do that. I noticed there are some reviews that paint a different picture of the staff but I have never had a bad experience. The menu is limited and changes with the season. I am a pretty picky eater but I have never had a problem finding something I like on their menu. We ordered the cheese plate for our appetizer. It came with 3 different cheeses, grilled bread that had been soaked in olive oil(to die for) and honey for dipping as well as some figs etc… It was perfect for the 3 of us. For lunch I ordered the grilled chicken sandwich with apple butter and brie in it. It was really good and filling. For my wine choice, I went with the Gewurtzraminer. I enjoyed it so much that I purchased a bottle of it after in the gift shop. I have always been a fan of the wines at Nashoba. They seem to have lower acidity than most wines which means less headaches for me. Also, they have a few wines made from pears instead of grapes which is a nice change from the norm– if you’re looking to be all wild and crazy and try something different. For dessert, we split the brownie sundae. Instead of ice cream it was topped with orange gelato. I liked the gelato. The brownie was just ok, nothing memorable. It was my mom’s birthday so it was nice that the presentation was personalized for her. I would definitely recommend J’s at any time of the year. Although summer and fall are beautiful and are probably the most popular seasons at the winery, there’s something to be said for a cozy spot to watch the snow fall.

Beautiful restaurant, excellent food, good value for the money. What a shame that our server today for a birthday Sunday brunch celebration was out to lunch. The server is supposed to take drink orders, refill beverages, remove dirty dishes and bring new plates for trips to the buffet. Ours at some point during our meal did none of each of the above. She was absent for most of the meal and seemed clueless about how service for the buffet should work. When she did remove plates, she took the silverware, leaving no silverware to eat the next course. She never refilled water glasses, when asked for a cup of coffee«forgot» and did not remove empty plates or bring clean ones for additional trips. After waiting for what seemed forever for our waitress, we had to place our dishes on another table and ask at the buffet for clean plates. This was unfortunate as the food was excellent and well prepared at this beautiful farm to table restaurant. Management takes some responsibility too. When we told the hostess of our dissatisfaction as we left, she said nothing. No apology or regret. Plus we noted on the reservation that it was a birthday celebration. No effort was made to acknowledge the special occasion. In reading other reviews, it seems that this is an issue with the restaurant. I wish I had read them before we went. What a disappointment.

3 stars because sitting outside on the patio for brunch was beautiful. Very nice setting and the service was great. The food, unfortunately, left something to be desired. Maybe I’m being tough with this review because brunch is pretty much my favorite thing in life, but absolutely nothing stood out. Maybe the bacon… because can anybody really go wrong with bacon? The eggs were okay. Everything else was just kind of blah. I could have skipped the brunch(except that I truly did enjoy sitting outside to eat) and gone straight to the wine tasting!
