Picturesque view and delicious menu choices with a helpful staff! We will definitely be going back! Thank you Nancy for all your assistance in making our daughter’s graduation luncheon so special!

The food has become inconsistent. At times, it’s alright, but our last meal [takeout] was pathetic: raw shrimp!, soggy chicken fingers, soggy fries, heaps of grainy mustard on our burgers(it was advertised as onion jam and was delicious the last time — what happened??); the pizza was ok and the salads were meh. There was a time when this place was great; they had chef Brenner, whose cooking was always impeccable. But ever since he left, they have had a long line of replacements who aren’t up to the job. Even so, said chefs do an ok job when they are on-site, but they don’t appear to always be there, hence the problems with consistency. Last night’s experience would never have been possible if there was a semi-competent cook anywhere to be found in the kitchen that evening. The place was empty, so it’s not like their kitchen was slammed. I can understand one misfire, but everything was terrible; how all that poorly-cooked food made it over the pass is beyond me. I was pissed when I got home… I’m giving 2 stars even though they probably only deserve 1 since consistency ranks very high on my list of priorities for a restaurant. I’d rather have a sub-standard meal at a place where that’s what I’m expecting than suffer a severe disappointment on a large order(which I made so large because I was expecting something better). The servers are consistently friendly and efficient, so maybe they earn the second star on that front. The desserts have always been awful, but we learned early on to avoid them, so it wasn’t an issue. Now, the food oscillates between o.k. and abysmal. We won’t be back any time soon.

My boyfriend and I visited this restaurant for our anniversary. I will absolutely never return. The food was amazing but the staff was incredibly rude. Not only did we feel rushed but the staff was really stuck up and spoke in a condescending tone to us. It was awful! Unless you are a member of the country club apparently you aren’t welcome!

I want to love the FP Room so badly but it’s always a mixed bag. A new chef has replaced Tony Ambrose… he seems to be a good chef with some creative ideas but needs to work on flavors and needs some help from the service team. Killing the Brussel sprout mix, adding a chocolate desert and cutting back on the salt(corn /clam chowder so good but heavy bacon /salt, same was true with clam chowder week before) would be a good places to start. The menus change regularly and there are always good specials. The pizzas are great as is the burger off the bar menu and the sirloin. I miss the swordfish chop but the swordfish steak is still a solid choice… there is always something new but still a crap shoot. On a recent visit it took about 20 minutes to get a drink from the bar(place was at about 15−20% capacity at 5:30pm)…this is quite typical so expect to wait. It also took over an hour to get our meals out while tables around us that arrived later had their food… and when the food came my steak was over cooked(well done vs medium) which ruined the meal. We eat here often and usually the food is very good so I’ll give a pass on the day but even with the issues there were no apologies from mgt. which is unfortunate. Guys you have a good chef and a beautiful room with just a bit of attention to detail like better bar service, bread plates on table when bread served or spoon provided to eat soup you could truly be a destination for the surrounding area. That said if you charge top dollar you need to back it up with great service. It’s there from time to time but needs to be there every time to move to 4 – 5 star range. We are rooting for you, make it happen.

If you visit the Fireplace in good weather, sit on the deck. It is a mini vacation from life. The lunch menu is creative, including gluten free options and fabulous thin crust wood oven pizzas. The salads are fresh & innovative. The sweet potato fries are battered and crisp. The kids ordered the Kids Club, which is the size of an adult sandwich and came with a choice of side and a scoop of ice cream. The only reason I gave 4 stars is the service. At 1PM on a Wednesday we waited 10 minutes to be seated(we were the only ones waiting & the dining room was ¼−1/3 full) & it took 40 minutes to be served 3 sandwiches. Otherwise I highly recommend The Fireplace.

Despite their open to the public daily advertising, they are not. We’ve gone twice and both times they were not serving food or drinks. Each time we went no one greeted us. They just ignored us until we asked for assistance.

We came here to celebrate our wedding anniversary. It was a wonderful experience. We had gotten married at the International the year before, and all of the staff was very nice wishing us happy anniversary. The ambiance was very nice, and you can be very dressed up or be a little more casual. Many people looked like they came in after playing golf. They have an extensive wine list and drink menu, and we had a bottle of champagne. We had the scallops with pea risotto and the filet with mashed potatoes. For appetizers, my husband had the clam chowder and I had the Cesar salad. The entrees can be on the pricier side, but they are worth it. Everything was delicious. Even my husband liked the pea risotto and he usually doesn’t like to try different things. Our server was excellent and she took our picture on the balcony. We plan to come back next year, if not sooner.

The Fireplace Room at the International is a little hidden jewel in Bolton. Although it’s a bit pricey for me(I’m cheap), it’s well worth it. High quality food, really good wait staff, and they have some cool specials every so often. We went the other night for the buck a chuck oysters for $ 1 deal, but they had run out by the time we showed up. The place is on the fancier side and you can feel a little out of place if you are used to this kind of thing, but just save the fart jokes for the car ride home. Well worth a visit!

disappointed again, Figured I would give it another shot after being forgotten on the deck by the wait staff last summer. Took the family this time and after ordering our dinner with no apps it took one hour fifteen minutes to get our food. Not only was it late but 3 out of the 4 plates was warm at best. The kids were so hungry they said they were fine but I sent mine back only to receive it 10 min later still warm. I told the waitress to forget it and take it off the bill. The food can be great, the staff is generally slow… Beautiful room and surroundings, I just want to get what I am paying for, not to much to ask…

A hidden gem for sure! My husband and I love this place. We not only got married here(yes we had our reception in the restaurant) but we go here at least once a month! They have an beautiful deck overlooking the golf course and of course, a fireplace. The bartenders know how to make a proper drink and you have to swing over for the wine down wednesdays and buck a shuck oysters on Thursdays. Their menu is outstanding! I’ve never had a bad dish, and I have to say that even with our wedding at 100 people, every single guest LOVED their food(and you never hear that at weddings). Many guests even asked if they could get orders to go!

I chose the Fireplace Room for a night out with a friend for 2 reasons: 1– it is close to her home in Harvard and 2– their website showed a vegan entrée and I’m vegan. Truth be told, I don’t generally expect anything too outstanding from golf club restaurants but it seemed like the best pick in the area. The restaurant is very pretty with white tablecloths and the hostess was very nice. After being handed the menus, I noticed the vegan entrée wasn’t on it so I asked our waitress, Jackie about the menu. She told us the menu was brand new. I explained that I was vegan and asked if perhaps the kitchen could«ramp up» a salad for me or something since the vegan item was gone. Jackie felt so badly! She apologized profusely and then said she was sure the kitchen could do better than just a salad and went off to inquire. She came back very quickly and told me the chefs could make me a «cauliflower steak» with assorted veggies on the side. I love cauliflower so I was thrilled! My friend ordered the chicken and we both ordered the evening’s drink special which was a blueberry and vanilla bean infused vodka with a splash of lemonade(OMG, SOGOOD!) Our meals were excellent! The cauliflower dish was amazing! The chefs even sent Jackie out to make sure I was happy with it. Jackie had to be one of the sweetest, friendliest waitresses ever! We had a great time at the Fireplace Room and I just can’t thank them enough for being so accommodating to my vegan diet.

Don’t understand the hype. Very nice setting, but the food is consistently burnt. Have a look, even at their webpage, on the photos, the food is burnt. Nomen est omen… Tipp: go for a drink only!

5 star all the way. So good :) My fiancé & I went to have lunch back in November to try out the food as we had just booked The International for our wedding for this coming November 2013. We shared the chips & guac(so amazing & fresh), he had a personal pizza & I had the chicken cesar salad. We ended with the warm cookies… I can’t even deal. It was seriously one of the best lunches I have ever had. So many good things to say I can’t even put them into words. The room and grounds are gorgeous too. Treat yourself to a beautiful relaxing lunch at a great place. Chef Brenner is fantastic & I can’t wait to have my wedding at The International.

My bf and I went here to redeem a Groupon for pizza that we had bought. It was well worth it. The room is beautiful, with a vaulted ceiling and floor to ceiling windows that overlook the wooded areas. The service was prompt and friendly and included a tasting plate of olive tapenade followed by an amazing parmesan and rosemary bread basket. The groupon included an amazing salad and two pizzas. We had the pepperoni and the spinach and garlic. Both were fantastic, very thin and crispy with a bubbly, crunchy crust and fantastic flavor. The best pizza I’ve had. I would definitely return!

Just an update. We had re-visited The Fireplace Room a couple months later with family and our experience fell far short of our previous dinner. While the food and service were good, they were not spectacular. The restaurant is fairly expensive, so in order to stay on my list, it would need to deliver excellence. I will probably give it another shot before making further decisions on this place.

I went here expecting OK food, and was very surprised by how good the pizza was. In fact I would recommend that you just get pizza because it was so good. It is very thin crust, but the dough is very fresh, and the topping are top-notch. I had the Pepperoni pizza, and my wife had a white spinach pizza that were both incredible. The price of the pizza’s was in line for the quality you get. This is no local House of Pizza place. This is high quality food. The steak skewers were also quite good. They were fresh nice chunks of meat instead of the usual chewy think steak most people put on a stick. It was jazz Friday, so they had a quite good duo playing great music. It was an evening when it was raining in January, so it was very quiet there, and the service was top notch. My wife’s Apple Martini was very well mixed, and not too expensive. In fact she said it was on of the best apple martinis she has had in a while. The only negative was the Hummus which did not have any«punch» or freshness to it. It tasted like a store bought hummus.

I took my wife here for a nice afternoon date. The food was pretty darn good and service was very nice. The place is a little pricey but the view is pretty awesome and makes the experience worth it. I’d go again.

CMON! Im taking away a star, not because of the BWT-A that makes you want to go into spiritual chant… or the braised rib that gives you the«ohhmmmssss», or the sparkling service… But because for crying out loud, if you advertise something — DELIVER! We specifially went to JAZZFRIDAY expecting some sunset in the museum worthy bucolic passage and heartbeating music. Nope, NADA. THESTAFF didn’t know what happened! NOONE had an explanation! This is the second time someone has a goof with setting expectations… C’mon people! We are now regulars, which means we hold you to a higher standard… PS, Helen was awesome, and Jessica is always a smile after a long work day! Now can management match up with the high standards Chef sets for the food?
