We learned that it’s pronounced ‘neesh-way’. But I still want to pronounce it ‘nice-way’ because they’re just so friendly. We buy fruit from them at the Saturday farmers’ market in Union Square because a.) the fruit is the best and b.) they’re so nice. The farm is no different. No corn maze, country store, doughnuts, face painting, pony rides, 50 varieties of trees, or God-knows what else. Just really delicious apples(about 5 varieties this weekend). ½ bushel and peck bags for $ 25 and $ 15 respectively.

After doing some research and reading Unilocal reviews on the various orchards that allow you to pick your own apples in Bolton, I came across several reviews of the Nicewicz Family Farm. The reviews were spot on! This third-generation family run farm is a great place to spend a couple of hours walking around the orchard, enjoying the hayrides, and selecting the perfect apples. They have an impressive selection of apple varieties(their website lists the varieties available). I can’t recommend this place enough. We’re planning on coming back every year!

Pass by all the other over-commercialized orchards in the area: this family farm gets the highest marks for lovely people, fruit and low key ambience. Perfect for dates or families who want to pass on the noise and hype. Wonderful apples, pears and plums in late September, and a fun(free!) hayride. 3 picnic tables lay nestled in the orchard if you being a picnic. New England fall fun!

I love picking my own apples and this is our favorite in the area. High quality apples and the place is not so crowded as other places can be so the apple trees aren’t as picked over. Also has pumpkins and peaches and a hayride.

Such a cute little farm! My husband and I ventured to Nicewicz Farm this weekend because many of the Bolton orchards lost their apple crops this year because of an early bout of frost. We were very happy to see that there were two bag sizes available to pick– maybe a peck and a ½ bushel? I’m not sure, I don’t know my apple bag sizes! The small bag was $ 12 and was way more than enough apples for the two of us. The larger bag was $ 20. One thing I noticed was the website was a little lacking, which made us not pick Nicewicz at first, but we were totally turned off by Bolton Spring Farm since you could only get $ 24 bags. So we found ourselves at Nicewicz Farm, right down the street from the delicious Nashoba Valley Winery. We picked a small bag of HUGE and DELICIOUS macintosh apples. I think their available varieties were cortland and macintosh. I think they have more if you go a little earlier in the season. Our apples were the best I have ever picked! Okay, to be honest, I haven’t gone apple picking many times before, but these apples were sweet, juicy, crisp, and GIGANTIC! I will definitely visit again! They were so nice there and I had a really nice time! Also, they didn’t seem to mind that we brought our dog along. Not sure if they actually have a rule for or against dogs, but our came and with us and sat in the tractor. :)

I’ve been picking apples at Nicewicz since I was a very little girl — way before the orchards were open to the public. It’s always a great experience and we always get great apples. We’ve already made applesauce and an apple crisp — still plenty of large apples to use. I had a five year old with me and while there, we also took a hay ride and had the chance to play on the old tractor next to the farmstand. He was in seventh heaven and I enjoyed the friendly atmosphere.

Today I ate my first peach of the summer, which I bought this past Saturday at my local farmers market. And as soon as I bit into it, I knew it was grown by Nicewicz. I’ve been buying peaches, plums, corn, blueberries, and much more from them every week at the Union Square farmers market for the past three years, and I’ve never been disappointed. Always fresh, juicy, flavorful. And they are the nicest people, always smiling and friendly.

I’ve stopped buying apples from anyone/any place other than Nicewicz. The brothers who run the farm are the greatest guys in the world. I don’t know what they do to make such delicious fruit, but their peaches and nectarines are usually the best around too. I particularly like the ginger gold, honey crisp(sweet), brock, and cortland.

This working farm shows up at farmer’s markets in Davis Square and Belmont, so they may be familiar. They start picking in September, and have 17 varieties that they grow. They also grow peaches and pears, though you can’t pick your own. The farm stand has a great selection of vegetables.
