It was my first time here yesterday & I had a wonderful experience. The ladies in the front desk were really nice, and Dr. Kikunaga was very friendly and made me feel very welcomed. Thank you too all the staff!

I love this place. It’s way out of my way, but the trip is worth it. Every time I go the staff is well informed. They are expecting me when I walk in. They know who I am, even though they have thousands of patients. Super friendly, super knowledge Dr. Kikunaga is always on point and keeping me informed every step of the way. The timing on which I get my contacts and glasses back is quick.
My daughter’s glasses had pressure fractures from the factory, BPO took them back with no hassle. Even inspected the new ones when they came back and did not agree on quality so sent them back to the factory. Let me clean this up, my daughter has bad eyesight and the frame she chose was thin compared to the thick lenses she needed. That’s why the pressure fractures happened. Either way, no hassles and quick turn-​a-​round time to get them back.
Did I mention I love this place!

I live in Old Town San Diego, work in Miramar and the trip down Bonita Point Family Optometry was a bit of a question. The drive wound up ultimately being not so bad and the professional courteous manor of the staff was truly refreshing.
Dr Kukinaga went into detail explaining my exam and was thoroughly up front with what I needed and did not need with regards to prescription.
I did not feel presured into buying glasses I did not need as I have felt in every other optometry place I’ve ever gone. I will add they have an incredible selection and as I look to upgrade my style, they will be where I go to do so.
I sincerly recommend Bonita Point Family Optometry and am comfortable knowing I now have a place I can consider home for all my eye care needs.

I appreciate the integrity of Dr. Daniel Mason and his staff. Some Drs will sell you anything for the slightest change in vision. Dr. Daniel Mason is honest and the quality frames and lens last until you are ready to change your glasses. Love my sunglasses and my transition lens too! I’ve been with them for 4 years and will not go anywhere else!

Regardless of the potential of losing my business by no longer selling me a prescription, glasses, or contacts, Dr. K’s ultimate goal was to help me make a decision that would be beneficial for the active life I have. He absolutely treated me like family and not just some patient.

Found this place through Unilocal.Easy to get appointments through their website. My appointment was a couple weeks out but i didn’t need my frames in a hurry. Receptionist called and said i could come in a week earlier. I brought my own frame but my exam was fast and now I’m waiting about a week to pick up my glasses.

I’ve been going to Dr. Mason since the 1990’s. He is by far the funniest Eye Dr. I’ve ever been too. His sense of humor truly compliments his skills as an optometrist. His knowledge and abilities are unmatched in my opinion. I wear contacts and he allows me to wear trial contacts before purchasing to ensure they are the right fit and prescription. He is always available to talk with. Once I had a scratch on my cornea and he took me in without an appointment and followed up to ensure the medicines were helping. His expertise, compassion and sense of humor combine to make him the best in San Diego.

My previous eye doctor seems to have disappeared. both of her offices were closed when I went to make my appointment so when I needed to make an appointment I had to start searching. I found Bonita Point Family Optometry doing a search on my health benefits website and given that they are pretty much 5 minutes from where I live I thought «why not?»
What a great decision. I was really pleased with how professional and well run the office is. Making the appointment was a breeze. They text you to remind you of your appointment. You verify and fill out most everything via email so it cuts down on the time you are in the waiting room. The gals at the front desk are very welcoming — offering coffee/​tea/​water. Dr. Kikunaga is awesome. very nice. very thorough. explains everything. you do not feel rushed in this office. Picking out my glasses was fun. they have a HUGE selection and let you take out and try on as many as you want for as long as you want. They do a great job of explaining what your insurance covers and what you are responsible for.
All in all a most excellent experience. Would recommend to others (and I have. I have told my daughter and my husband they should both go!)
