I’m a delivery food junkie. I’ve ordered from many restaurants and have never left a review for delivery food because delivery food is usually not spectacular. Café podima has be the best delivery food I’ve had. Delivery was exactly on time thru grub hub. I ordered the eggplant Parmesan calzone(as others have said very cheesy and delicious) The crust is nice and chewy and not at all soggy. I also ordered the BBQ wings with fries. Through grubhub, it didn’t mention any other side but it came with a side salad.(I love surprises) The salad was a little warm bc it was next to the wing and fries but it was still delicious. Just regular iceberg/tomato/cucumber/carrot/feta With ranch. It was so good and slightly healthy. Wings were good, fries were good and I was happy. And best part is, it was very cheap for delivery. Around $ 25(including tip, delivery fee, tax and two meals)

The service here is super slow but the food is SOGOOD. I like to tell myself it takes so long because they are making food from scratch, but it still takes a while. I recommend the falafel roll up, it was crispy on the outside, warm on the inside, with lots of veggies and hummus. Despite the wait times, I will definitely be back.

So I had a horrible delivery experience but that was partially my fault. Why I gave this place 1 star is because the food was inedible. I got the prosciutto panini and it was so salty and soggy I literally threw the sandwich away. I do not believe in throwing out food but this was so bad I couldn’t even will myself to eat it. The prosciutto was really REALLY low grade it almost looked like thick slices of ham. I’m pretty sure the mods cheese was also bad as it smelled like something that was dead for a few days. Then I ordered the sugar free yogurt and they gave me ice cream. Not that big of a deal in life, but when you’re on a diet and you want sugar free it makes you want to cry that you were brought ice cream.

I ordered the portobello salad with chicken via the Unilocal app. By the time I walked across the street to Café Podima, my food was ready. The greens in the salad were fresh and the chicken was hot and perfectly seasoned. The portobello mushrooms were also well seasoned and delicious. The other toppings on the salad were plentiful. Overall it was a wonderful salad. I will be ordering again!

We needed a large number of pizzas for a birthday party at a particular time. I called a day ahead to ask if they could accommodate an early delivery since most reviews said the food was good. They were great. They came right when they said they would and everything was exactly as we had ordered. They delivered earlier than normal to accommodate us. The pizza tasted good. We ordered all plain cheese since it was a group of kids. I would definitely order from them again!

I can’t see any reason for the 3 stars. We had a great lunch that was served quickly and reasonably priced. The man at the counter was super friendly. The Boston College sandwich was so bomb, and ate the other half for dinner(huge). Grabbed some snickers FroYo as well. Loved it and will be back.

I love this neighborhood place! I always stop here to get a sandwich or pizza after work. The man who works at the front, I assume the owner, treats his customers so well. I was waiting for my pizza to be ready for pickup(I was early), and he brought me some cucumber and hummus to snack on while I waited. If only more places were like Podima!

I’m so angry at this restaurant! They deserve ZEROSTARS but that is not an option so one star, which is far more than they deserve! They were over an hour late on the delivery. I missed my appointment waiting around for this food. I called twice and they kept saying it was out for delivery for over 40 minutes. When it got here the food was cold. The bread was burnt. JUSTAWFUL!!! I will not be ordering from here ever again!

I will admit that this is the best pizzeria on Cambridge street. The food is fresh and taste good. I just wish the weird ass delivery guy will stop making weird faces. yea I made a bad review because I didn’t like how I was treated even being a good customer. I still go there because Falcaro’s is Horrible. He looks like he talking negative they all hide out in the back with the chef and make convict faces at me as I wait. For all I know they can be spitting on my food for giving a bad review. Its not my fault they sent me the wrong sub and never reimbursed me or sent me the right one. Im going to have to just find a new place because i dont appreciate the bipolar activity from these people,

First off, the food is not worth the hassel. There are much better places around the area! Secondly, I placed an order at 6:54 for an 8:00 delivery. By 8:15 I had heard nothing from them, I called and was told the delivery driver had just left and would be there in 7 – 8 minutes! The manager tried to blame me for ordering in advance and said it was late because they were so busy. After another 20 mintues I had still heard nothing. I called the manager back to cancel my order and was told the driver was down the street. The manager said I could either cancel my order or accept and he would give me 20% off. I am still waiting for my refund(2 days later) because the manager is deciding whether or not he is going to honor what he told me! STAYAWAY!

i placed an order with them tonight and was given an estimate of 30 minutes. After an hour, my food had not arrived, so I checked in and was told the driver was just«a few minutes» away. 15 minutes later, still no food, so I checked again and was told«5 – 8 minutes» max. 20 minutes later, still no food so I cancelled my order since it was now 3x the amount of time my original order was supposed to take. This place is mediocre at best, and not worth waiting 90 minutes for.(If they had provided that as their original estimate, or even something closer to that, I wouldn’t mind so much.”

Ordered a mushroom, caramelized onion, sausage and ricotta calzone for delivery… The cheese seemed off(ultra tangy– like it was expired) AND I found 2 pieces of plastic in my calzone, like someone had chopped a food storage container up and sprinkled the pieces in. Needless to say, I threw the rest away. Ick. There was also a weirdly sweet taste involved too, perhaps from too-liberal use of sugar in caramelizing the onions? Not good, and way overpriced for what I received. Stay super simple with your order, and it’s probably fine. I won’t order from them again.

I have been ordering from Café Podima for a few years now, and I have always loved them. My ‘regular’ was the steak and cheese calzone with tons of caramelized onions. Every weekend when my best friend comes over, we trade off. One week I’ll cook, and the next week he’ll «cook». When it’s his turn, we order from Café Podima. I am very picky with my pizza and like almost NOBODY’S pizza. Theirs is perfect. In October, I was diagnosed with something that now makes it so I can no longer have gluten, dairy, corn, soy and et cetera. This past weekend I got really sick. It is almost impossible to find any kind of soup with no gluten in it. They have a chicken lemon and rice soup that I absolutely LOVE! I called them up and asked if they had a size that’s bigger than the one that comes with you order it. They said no, but asked me what I want it for. When I explained how sick I was and the fact that theirs is the only soup I can have, they sent a HUGE batch over, for way less than half price. Not only that, but the owner then called me the next day to see how I was feeling. I love this restaurant.

It is so easy to walk by this place and not even give it a second look, but this little sandwich shop is one of the best kept secret’s of Beacon Hill. If you take a look at their menu you will see that they have almost 50 sandwiches. You can mix-and-match all kinds of ingredients. My absolute favorite sandwich to order is one of their hot sandwiches. I always choose focaccia bread. The sandwiches are large and incredibly filling. I usually have half a sandwich for lunch and save the other half for dinner. You can easily reheat them a little bit in the microwave if you’d like. Aside from the sandwiches, I love ordering their custom made ice cream. Yes you read that correctly. They use a base of vanilla soft serve and mix in whatever you’d like. Their ingredient list is a mile long. I usually choose peanut butter and milk chocolate chips. It is to die. They will do large orders but I’m not sure about delivery.

I order delivery quite often and have to say that as far as sub shops/small restaurants go, I’d put Café Podima up around the top. The sandwiches are great and they offer a ton of different bread options. My favorite is the«Boston College» — chicken salad, lettuce, tomato and bacon on focaccia. It’s a slam dunk. This is some of the best chicken salad I’ve had… and I’m picky about my chicken salad! Lean and not overly mayonnaised. Also have ordered the chef and chicken caesar salads. Everything(including the lettuce) was fresh and delicious… they have some great dressings as well(try the balsamic vinegar). The last of my favorites thus far is the chicken, ziti and broccoli entrée. Perfectly cooked pasta/broccoli and not boatloads of alfredo sauce. They use the perfect amount, it’s not a heavy alfredo but an extremely tasteful one. I’ve never experienced any problems with delayed delivery or inept delivery guys(as I have at plenty of other places). Simply put, the quality of food is well above average in this price category. You should order confidently from Café Podima — I see many more in my future!

I love this place. Classic Mediterranean Menu, with wonderful Dolmas, Falafel, and salads. the sandwhich and wrap menu is a little overwhelming, but once you find ones that work for you, its a no brainer. The double stuffed sandwhiches on Foccaccia are great, the Boston College is a perfect combo of very fine chicken salad on a beautifully toasted BLT. Beware toasted Foccaccia bread does cut your gums. Their mixed to order fro-yo can be confusing at first, but it always delights out of town guests! Particularly in season is Graham Cracker, Cinnomn, and Chocolate chips. Like Smores in a cup!

I’ve tried the froyo several times here, just trying to give it another chance! Each time I’ve gotten the yogurt, I literally expect it to be like a McFlurry. It’s not. I choose a topping for them to add in, and I can barely taste it! When I say cookie dough, I want chunks of cookie dough! I didn’t get a single chunk — only what seemed to be «cookie dough flavored ice cream». Maybe I’ve just been getting bad toppings, but which ones are the good ones?! I do have to say, the sugar free option is great!

Well I guess I have to eat my words, because my friends and I got takeout from Café Podima last night after I swore never again. I read many of the Unilocal reviews before deciding on my order and it seemed like the general consensus was that the calzones are the way to go. I ordered the Alfredo calzone and my husband and friends had a variety of other calzones(pepperoni and cheese, BBQ chicken, buffalo chicken). I have to admit that the Alfredo calzone was quite tasty. The crust, in particular, was delicious. It is cooked to perfection and they toast some cheese on top for a nice finishing touch. The chicken, broccoli and cheese were also quite tasty. I didn’t care for the tomato sauce, but I usually prefer my calzones without, so no biggie there. The portions are very generous. I got a small and only ate half. My friend also placed the order earlier in the day and they arrived within 5 minutes of her requested time. Despite how delicious the calzones were, I cannot rate Café Podima any higher than a 3⁄5 given how terrible their sandwiches have been in my experience.

Why oh why did I not know that chicken broccoli Alfredo CALZONES were a thing? Did I miss the memo? Was I not at that reception? Did my invite get lost in the mail!!! Café Podima’s calzones are cheesy pockets of delicious sauces and tastes covered in another layer of freshly melted cheese with slightly golden brown bubbles of awesomeness. I want nothing else but every single type of calzone they have. The Eggplant Parmesan has thick cut slices of breaded eggplant, extra Parmesan inside, and served with sweet marinara sauce and an extra chewy crust that makes me want to take this thing to bed. The cheese Calzone is stuffed with tons of cheeses one of which is ricotta. Wonderfully creamy ricotta. I’m getting a cheesegasm just thinking about it. Seriously, Café Podima is one of those pizza café’s on the back of beacon hill you have to try. Its reasonably cheap and they’re open pretty late and on grub hub and all those other sites so if your looking for a late night bite tis the place to enjoy. They also have pretty good sandwiches and roll ups(way different then a wrap, they use lavish bread which is a bit heavy and flour-y compared to a tortilla wrap) but its the same level of well seasoned ingredients. My only qualm is with their delivery. While on a less busy night your food will be there in thirty minutes or less, when they’re busy the food can take over an hour and there’s no courtesy call or notification of the extra wait. A little unprofessional but I mean, stuff my face with that cheese calzone and I’ll forget it ever happened, I promise.
