I’ve been on the team for years, and I love it. They take good care of people new to the sport and really try hard to train them up and get them integrated to the group. It’s a fun way to get out on the water, get sweaty, and meet people.

I’ve been a member of Living Root since 2007 and I always have a blast no matter if it’s at practice or a race. The team is chock full of good people with very diverse backgrounds, interests, cultures, and ages. You never know who you’ll meet the next time you go to practice. The sport of dragon boat racing is catching on fast all across North America so there are lots of races all over the Northeast, on the West Coast, in Canada, and many other places throughout the US. It’s truly a team sport in that you and your teammates must work together to get the boat moving as quickly as possible. Everyone should try it at least one. The first practice is FREE too!
