Had a nice glass of wine at the bar. The home made chips are great, and the service was good.

It was really hot in there and the bartenders weren’t very friendly. We ended up getting our drinks and taking them back up to our room.

The service was good during the day, the service went south at night. The waiter checked on us when we sat down and took our orders. The next time he checked on us was 1.5 hours later when we had to chase him down to get the bill. This is the second time that has happened in this place. Food is average at best.

The Boston Sheraton feels a little like a casino inside: it’s sparkly and pretty, but so sprawling and serpentine that it’s hard to find your way out or even remember that there is one. This explains the number of people who find themselves eating at SideBar regularly while staying there, as we did at a recent convention. It’s just easier than venturing out into the real world. That said, the quality of the food was truly impressive for a hotel restaurant: I enjoyed a fresh green salad with orange supremes, thinly sliced red onion, green olives and a perfectly-cooked piece of salmon, while my friend had a club sandwich on artisan bread — I might have a detail wrong here, but their menu is not posted online so I’m going from memory. After his fries arrived cool, the server brought an entirely new, huge, order of piping hot salty-crispy goodness.(Yes, I had a few. They were amazing!) That said, I was turned off by the unabashed price gouging here: our entrees were close to twenty dollars apiece before tax and tip, for what amounted to a decent light lunch. Cocktails another night were similarly steep. I understand this situation, because the hotel figures people are going to eat there no matter what(we did, after all,) but I really resent it. They don’t have to pay themselves rent, so why not behave like a real restaurant — drop the prices and increase their patronage? Bottom line: if money is no object, you’ll enjoy your meal, but there are far better and more economical options in the surrounding blocks.

This is the lobby bar of the Boston Sheraton Hotel. This was a quick bite after check-in while feeling exhausted and air-sick from a recent flight, and car-sick from the roller-coaster Boston-driving-style cab ride. I was impressed with the quality of the food. I had cod fish on risotto which was served hot and the combination of flavors hearty and satisfying. The mushrooms and shrimp on a creamy risotto is a combination that never gets old. I felt better with this and a drink(s). Summary: I wasn’t expecting much but this was a surprise.

We were staying in the hotel and received a discount for being rewards members so we gave brunch a try, definitely not worth it! The hotel is fantastic, but with a ton of incredible options nearby, I would not waste my time(or a lot of money) eating within the hotel. All of the food was ok at best, options were relatively limited, and service was ok also. Skip this option and go to one of the other more amazing places nearby!

Not a bad little bar, after Animé Boston, I was still at the Sheraton. I loved the service, it was great, has 3 Cosmos and a glass of champagne, then called it a night.

Eh. The hotel itself is pretty nice so the SideBar has ambiance going for it – but the food is pretty bad. If you’re going for a nightcap this is probably a fine place to be, but don’t plan on having lunch here(even if you are stuck in the hotel). Coffee was served cold(and it wasn’t supposed to be), and my BLT was soggy on one side and cold on the other. How did that even happen? Fries were cold and rubbery. Service took forever even though they weren’t that busy. The hostess/waiter were both nice enough when around, but kind of aloof overall.

Your normal hotel lobby bar. It’s pretty big and the service is what’s expected. Just hang out after a day of work. Get shit faced then go back to your hotel room and sleep.

We were in town for a conference and staying in the Sheraton, so it only made sense to have our group meeting in the SideBar & Grille. They had a wide range of different seating arrangements and chairs– including a table for a large group, which was perfect. It had a welcoming, relaxed and unassuming vibe. Decent drink list, including Blue Moon which is one of my favorites. I also tried the Planter’s Punch, which was fantastic! Appetizers were delicious and about the right size and decent price. The waiters were polite and prompt. I can’t really ask for more in a hotel bar!

Really love the SideBar & Grille at the Sheraton Boston Hotel. The clam chowder was the best I have had in Boston — great flavor, lots of meat and potatoes. The lobster mac and cheese was huge with lots of lobster and great flavor. The lobster roll had a huge portion of lobster with a wonderful sauce. The Boston Cream Pie desert wasn’t very good. The service left a bit to be desire especially since it took about 15 minutes to figure out how to split a bill. However that said this is probably one of the best eating establishments I have ever eaten at in a hotel.

We were having a lazy sunday and it didn’t help Hurricane Irene was in effect.. . so we decided 2 have dinner in the hotel.. .didn’t find anything on room service so went downstairs to eat. There were a bunch of ppl there already.. .this place is super casual. We ordered grilled chicken pannini with sundried tomatoes and swiss cheese and lobster roll sandwhich that came with clam chowder. The chowder wasn’t as good as the one @ Union oyster house. The pannini was delish tho.. .I didn’t try the lobster roll. The waiter was prompt and friendly. Its also a bar so we ordered a few drinks after dinner. The drinks were stiff.

The SideBar is the bar & lounge area inside the Sheraton Boston Hotel. The bar layout is kind of weird — it’s basically a square bar area — but on one side the floor is higher — so the there is less distance from the top of the bar to the floor. I sat on the short side the first night and felt like I was sitting on barstools for Hobbits. Was not uncomfortable — just a strange feeling. Had a beer here that I have never had before — and absolutely loved! The Samuel Smith Oatmeal Stout — a very dark, rich beer with just a hint of dark sweetness! And still refreshing. It was so good — I had two of them! They also make their own bloody mary mix here — not an overly salted pre-bottled mixture. Pretty good for a custom mix — I got a small glass of it to taste. The bartender, a lady with a very pronounced«Baston» accent — proclaimed it was better than what anyone else makes. I told her about the custom Bloody Mary mix that Desiderio makes — she said it was better than theirs. I laughed and asked her how she could possibly pass judgement on something she has never tried? She did not reply(In my biased opinion — Desiderio makes a better custom Bloody Mary mix — but this is just my opinion and in any case not a competition!) :-) Later, I had one of the Bloody Mary’s to check it out — pretty good — though still a tad to salty for me. Second night we came in here and sat on the other side of the bar that had a normal seat to floor distance ratio. We split an order of Buffalo Chicken wings and had a few of the Harpoon IPA’s — another tasty ale I’ve never tried before. Wings were good, not outstanding — would have liked to have the skin be a tad crispier. They came with a side of blue cheese dipping sauce and celery sticks. We asked for, and got — a side of the Buffalo wing sauce to also dip the wings in. The bar had three flat panel TVs mounted behind the bar — but they have to be the absolute smallest flat panel TVs I’ve seen in any bar. I remarked to the bartender they really need to replace these tiny screens with something you can actually see while watching the game! Bartenders overall were a nice group of folks — service was good.
