Subway

Around 2PM on a Monday there was a slight line, but the employees have a great system down. I had my food in less than a minute after ordering! Awesome service.
I’m a big fan of their wheat bread but definitely not a fan of their strangely textured fast-​food grilled chicken. Would probably opt for deli meat or just veggies in the future.
Still, quick service and $ 3.21 for a 6-​inch sub (chicken, lettuce, tomato, onion on wheat bread) seems reasonable to me!

Subway, despite it’s attempts at superseding the fast food stereotype, is often lumped in with BK and McDonald’s as a quick, cheap bite. I don’t want to get too defensive and claim «it’s so much more than that», but it is slightly more than that.
What’s great about Subway is that you can make your own food (duh.) but with that power comes great responsibility. If you want to be one of those people who denounces Subway as equally unhealthy as BK, well then you’ve brought that upon yourself. For a corresponding price, you can have as much or as little as you want at subway. You can get a footlong buffalo chicken with chipotle southwest and double cheese on Italian herbs and cheese, or you can get a 6-​inch multigrain bread with oven roasted chicken and veggies. It really is up to you.
I’m a regular here (aka every day for lunch) because I’m looking for that type of control in what I put into my body.
That said, it is a major chain of fast-​er food, so don’t go in expecting top notch waiter service.

Ok, yes it’s a subway and not a fancy restaurant, but STAY AWAY FROM THIS PLACE!!! This place has rubbery ham that is MAKE YOU SPIT IT OUT and holy crap how can somebody make bad cookies is beyond me. I actually had to to go to another restaurant and order something else. I am always on the road and subway is my go to place because I thought it was impossible to mess up a sandwich or cookies. This place definitely proved me wrong.

Yikes Subway, really? I don’t have incredibly high hopes for you in the first place, but this branch seems to particularly limp up to the plate.
I really don’t like making a deal of clerical errors BUT (and this is quite the «but»), it took me 10 minutes this morning of pointing to a sign to convince my cashier of the actual price of my breakfast sandwich. I can understand commercials that say «not valid at all locations» or other promotional junk like that, but this… sigh.
IT WAS IN BOLD IN PRINT BEHIND YOUR HEAD. Service FAIL.

It’s only a subway, right?
My last Subway experience was in St. Louis during college. My university had one on campus, the only offered dinner near the library, so, I guess you could say that I know my Subway…
The Longwood Galleria Subway is the best I have ever been to. Fast service and punctual workers. WTF. Who expected this?
With Subway you know what you’re getting, and I’m happy to get that five-​doller footlong in under 5 minutes. I am a fan.

I stopped by this Subway yesterday (⁴⁄₁₅) because I had heard that subway was giving away freebies to celebrate Tax Day. According to the Boston Globe and Unilocal you could get a free cookie; I heard a radio commercial saying they were giving away free soup.
So I arrive at the Longwood Galleria Subway location at 12:30 and the line was longer than usual — I figured this was because of the promotion. When my colleague and I finally reached the counter and inquired about the soup, they responded that they were out of soup and it would be 20 minutes before more soup was ready. I asked for a free cookie and he said NO. My colleague ordered a sandwich anyway. We inquired again with the cashier about the free cookie, this person also declined but did offer a rain check for a free soup on another day. I bought a fountain drink to have with the sandwich i brought from home — no soup — no cookie.
Two reasons I did not give them 1 star:
1) They gave me a coupon for a free soup
2) They are the only place in the Galleria that offers free refills on fountain drinks!
