Just went in here. The woman working there was really friendly and helpful. It’s a cool little place with lots of random odds and ends. It’s not for everyone, but you’ll probably find something pretty dope to take home with you if you stop by!

Superb selection and generally very low-prices that would even make Store 54 blush. This place is the best! The owner Justin is super super nice, you should talk to him if you can about what you’re looking for, since he personally goes out every week to select stuff for the store, he generally knows every single item by heart. This store is the heart and soul of Allston. It’s the punk rock DIY version of Bobby from Boston. It’s the very good and totally stylish used clothing you could see other places, but rightly aimed and priced for the Allston budget. It’s very approachable, it’s not snooty. The store is a joy. There are a lot of neat vintage type knick·knacks here, but i don’t really buy those, so i can’t speak to their quality. I also don’t know about the women’s section, not really being a woman. I can however elaborate on the specifics of the Men’s clothes. There tends to be an emphasis on great durable classic clothing items such as peacoats, sport jackets, vintage jeans, hundreds of leather jackets, amazing cowboy boots, flannel shirts, dress shoes, and work boots. Generally there are plenty of middle grade items at reasonable prices, and just for you true Lower Allstinos out there, there are some more-used items as well but they’re only offered at very deep discounts. It’s a great store, has new inventory ALL the time. You should go here at least once EVERY week.

I’ve never posted to Unilocal before, but I felt compelled to after buying a vintage camera from Justin, the owner of vivant vintage. Me and a friend were disappointed to find the store closed one afternoon during the holidays. Justin just happened to be stopping by that moment and invited us in to look around. There’s an incredible collection of what I can only describe as «cool old stuff.» Justin was really knowledgable about all the items, particularly the wide selection of vintage film cameras. I bought a Minolta xg700 for a great deal. Justin gave me his cell phone number and told me to call him if there were any problems with it. These old cameras tend to be finicky so, low and behold, there was a mechanical problem with the shutter. I got in touch with justin and, on his day off, he met with me to exchange it for a working camera from his own personal collection at home. This is a great business with personal, thoughtful customer service. I highly recommend stopping by to look around. Perfect place to find cool unique gifts or one-of-a-kind treasures.

A great new local gem! Has it’s own special niche when compared with similar local shops. Friendly staff right when you walk in the door! Lots to look at, decent prices but some high end stuff too, like custom designer clothing & jewelry also made locally! This would be a good place to find some treasures. there is an incense factory next door so the place has a distinct but pleasant smell. If you walk by here you should stop in.

Vivant Vintage has a really cool selection of items from the hip and funky to the qwirky and bizarre! When you first walk in you’re brought into a wide surrounding of many racks of vintage clothing, shoes, hats, and everything in between. There is also a pretty solid selection of old vinyl LP’s, some vintage toys/games, musical items, furniture, jewelry, accessories, and everything in between! Definitely worth the trip if you’re a connoisseur of vintage items that have retained their style and flair in the modern age. It’s also a very convenient spot to get to on foot, although parking can be a bit difficult in the area. Definitely check it out if you’re in the area!
