So there are obviously some bad reviews of this place. I can’t speak for the other reviewers but I can speak for myself and for my wife and I am here to say that we had a wonderful shopping experience at the Bothell Sears Hometown Appliance Store. We had actually been in the store a few times before just to canvass the place out. Do a little research. We were looking for a new refrigerator – nothing fancy but nothing barebones either. The store had a very good selection of refrigerators. And after researching similar models on-line and at other appliance stores we decided to come back during their latest sale drive. I believe it was called«Family and Friends” – an obvious play in Macy’s «Friends and Family». Anyway, we were in last weekend for a final recon and learned about the upcoming sale from our sales associate Dale – a very friendly and down to Earth fellow whose business card we took. Now any sales associate that tells you: «wait one week we have a big sale coming up»…I’ve got to give them some credit for that. Not often do you get a salesman who basically tells you to NOTBUY anything right now and come back later to save more money. So that’s exactly what my wife and I did this past Sunday. When we came in we were greeted by another sales associate and told him that we had previously been helped by Dale. We’re firm believers that if someone gives you a business card you go back to them when you’re ready to do business. The first sales associate graciously referred us back to Dale. We looked through a few refrigerators and settled on a Whirlpool. Now during the checkout process we discovered that there was no stock left in their warehouse of that particular model. The soonest they could deliver would be February. Bummer. My wife and I were hoping to get something during our upcoming two-week vacation this Christmas. Dale seemed genuinely disappointed as well. So he asked us if we wanted to look at another model. We agreed and found a Kenmore for only slightly more that had a deeper freezer than the Whirlpool which my wife wanted. Booya. With the«Family and Friends» sale we saved 15%, and after applying for a Sears card we saved another 5%…and we don’t pay interest for six months to boot. Double booya. So I can say from our experience that the folks at the Bothell Sears Hometown Appliance store were top-notch individuals who really do give a hoot. But take my review(and the others) with a grain of salt. Not everyone is going to get the same experience so if you’re in the market for a home appliance give these guys at least a visit and then form your own opinion. PS: If there’s any problem in the future with the delivery(scheduled for next week) or with the refrigerator itself I will update this review.

I stopped by to purchase a water filter for my refrigerator, since this new store is conveniently located by my home. Unfortunately, one sales representative was too busy with a customer and the other one was more concerned about trying to go home. With the item for purchase in hand, I spent 10 minutes waiting as the one free representative left the store and the other one ignored me to focus on a customer who was just asking questions and not buying anything. Long story short, I walked out the door without the getting the filter. I guess my purchase wasn’t big enough to merit their attention. I used to be a loyal customer to Sears, buying power tools and appliances. Things have noticeably changed in the past years. If this is the way the company conducts business, it won’t be around much longer.
