POORCUSTOMERSERVICE! I made reservations on Sunday, June 5th, for a party of 15 @7pm.(Hibachi) I understand that they can’t seat you until all of the party is there. All arrived at 7:15, I approached the host and he said you have to wait 20 minutes. I asked why, that defeats the purpose of my reservations. Kept giving me the runaround and I asked to speak with the manager. Manager comes out full of attitude saying, there’s nothing he could do, just wait! No apology whatsoever! They never had table reserved for us in the first place! Even if we were ALL to be there at 7, there’s a wait for my RESERVATION! I celebrated my birthday there 3 consecutive years in a row! I’m totally boycotting this place. Ending result, we walked out to Royal hot pot in Quincy. They were able to accommodate us in 15 minutes, in their private room!

I have been to Yokyo numerous times to count. I have dined on the Hibachi side which is wonderful! Majority of our visits however are for the Shabu. Delicious, fresh food! Service is also pleasant and attentive. Would like to recommend their House Fried Rice as well as, some of their other yummy dishes such as their Teriyaki dishes or Noodle dishes. Great place, and barely ever a wait! Def recommend you try.

I had the teriyaki shrimp and it was delicious and the chef I had was great. However I am taking off one star because the waiter that I had made me uncomfortable by making too many personal remarks and coming over to my table a little too much. Overall though, this is a pretty decent place to eat and I would return.

I used to be a loyal customer but i will never be coming back. Firstly for their hotpot, the beef slices of meat are extremely thick, you will be chewing for days to eat this meat. Yes their broths are good but that can never justify for their horrible customer service. On a busy mother’s day there was of course no parking, the manager then told us that we can park in the handicap spot and that do not worry no one will tow us. Halfway through our meal, a pregnant hostess came yelling at us as she was walking to us she was yelling«move your car you cannot park in handicap move it now» at this point everyone in the restaurant was looking at us. We kindly told her that the manager told us to park there. We then said okay we will just take the bill now and leave. She said no move it right now! One member of my party got up to move the car, turns out, no one needed our spot for all that rush. Embarrassed because we would of never parked there unless the manager insisted it was okay we went to the front desk and told him about this. He simply said«dont mind her she is pregnant» that is NOT a excuse. This is a business if she cannot handle her emotions at work, she should not be a work. And i LOVE how they started to talk about us in vietnamese not knowing we are vietnamese None less i will not be coming back. Not just because of this incident but also because their beef is not good.

Dined here more than a handful of times over the years for both lunch and dinner(even once for my birthday dinner at the hibachi side) so a review is long overdue. This was among the first of its kind in the South Shore that offered the«shabu and sushi» or «hibachi and sushi» combo at the same place. A definite hot spot the first few years they were opened even though the food, at best, has always just been okay. Now when I say food, this pretty much covers everything. Their shabu selections are sufficient. They’re enough choices for soup bases, meats, seafood, veggies and starches along with the typical condiments(minced garlic, sa cha sauce, soy sauce, fresh chili peppers, scallions etc) for dipping. However, even now, I can’t recall anything in particular that screams«Come back and order me!». Same goes for the sushi menu. They offer every imaginable item that any other typical Japanese restaurant would have but nothing especially memorable comes to mind that was dynamite IMO. Overall, a consistent 3.5÷5 across the board. Aside from the food, I’d upped it to a 4 rating if the servers didn’t play the Houdini trick on us all the time. Sometimes they’re there but sometimes they’re nowhere to be found and when they are around, the service tends to be super slow. Reminds me of the sloths in the Zootopia movie. All in all, a decent choice if you’re at the mall or somewhere local and/or you have an indecisive dining group. Having these options lessens the headache. Warning though, you should budget the time and not be in a rush. It’s guaranteed to take anywhere from 1.5−2 hours from end to end on any given day!

Celebrated my birthday here last night and I had a good time with my family. Everyone was happy with their food & drinks and we were very entertained with the hibachi chef. Entire staff is very friendly. Two waitresses brought out my cake and sang me happy birthday(complete with a mini gong!) and other staff who were on break and having dinner a couple tables away even wished me a happy birthday as I was leaving. Overall, I enjoyed my night and the service. This was my second time here and both times the restaurant was quite empty and it makes me wonder why the restaurant isn’t a lot busier.

In my opinion, not charged fairly. The menu says soft drink 1.95, however, I was charged not only the initial 1.95, but 1.95 for each refill. The menu does not say that, there is no sign saying no free refills, the waitress never mentioned it, the other wait staff never said anything. The manager Jason said for a restaurant not to charge fro refills, it has to say bottomless on the menu.

Overall average experience, nothing stands out exactly to brag about. The worst part is that they charge $ 1 for refilling coke: O … its an ugly mentality that matches their ugly faces.

Save yourself the money. Just boil water at home and dip some Oscar Meyers lunch meat into it for a replicated taste of this place. Been up for 3 hours now with a stomach ache from hell, my girlfriend apparently waking up with the same aches just before me. We ate the shabu here and are regretting it immensely. Sad thing is, it was absolutely disgusting. Not a single taste that was worth this pain. Really. There wasn’t any taste. I’ve never had a meal so bland. The jalapeños taste the same as the cheap meat. We also didn’t even get 2 glasses of water until the end of the meal. So much regret.

Came here the first week I came back to Massachusetts. Ordered a17? the prime rib eye and it doesn’t seem the same. Meat quality seems to have less marbling. The meat is tougher. For 21 $ per plate of maybe 10 splices of beef it wasn’t satisfying. Quality just does not seem there any more. Ordered two plates and the fat to meat content was just not there anymore.

We did the Hibachi and were not disappointed. Although the cook didn’t speak much English, he was very nice and entertaining. The portions are very large for the price(we have been to several other hibachi places, same price, less amount of food). The waitress was very attentive. It was a Monday night, so it was not packed. We also had crab ragoon(which was great) and the fried soft-shell crab(just ok). They served a sald with yummy ginger dressing and a small soup(very tasty). We had to park in the mall’s parking lot and cross the street because they only have like 5 spots in front of the restaurant. Overall, not disappointed on this«we are so hungry after shopping all day, we could eat a cow» pick.

Their hotpot and sushi are just mediocre, can’t really remember how it taste … I guess it’s bland? This place attracts the most ghetto trash people in here, loud and not respectful of their surroundings. Parking is difficult if u have kids u would have to walk across the st from the mall parking lot. Definitely won’t be back… Waiters were friendly tho.

The food is nothing special, but with the mediocre service, I have to give Tokyo Japanese Steak House a subpar rating. The food was exactly as expected at any other hibachi restaurant. I would come back for hibachi, but not the hot pot.

I never had hibachi before. Yes. It’s true. Even my vegetarian husband was in shock. Was I living under a rock? Sure. Before dinner we sat at the bar as we were waiting for two more in our party. I ordered the Paradise drink and it was pretty sweet. But good. So good I got another one to go with dinner lol. Amaretto, Malibu rum, midori and pineapple juice. We had a party of six for dinner and it was very good. For entrees, we ordered tofu, filet mignon, lobster, shrimp and scallops. Some got the chef rice(fried rice) and some got the white rice. The sauces that it came with were very very tasty, tangy and spicy. Hibachi cook was entertaining and did the sake shots(none for me), popped zucchini pieces in our mouths, did the volcano thing, and was very cool. We also had dessert(fried ice cream or cheesecake) and they also didn’t disappoint. I was pleased and shall return!

Around 7:45 Saturday my friends and I decided to have a girls night out. Since the wait in the Braintree area was ridiculous we agreed to give Tokyo Steakhouse a try. We called about 10minutes prior to ensure the wait would not be tooooo long for hibachi. After walking in and waiting a few minutes we were not greeted at the door so I felt uneasy at first after the hostess seem to be ignoring our party. Finally we asked someone for help and were seated shortly after. The waitress was quick not friendly but she definitely got the job done. After another 20 minutes or so the hibachi chef came over to our table! HEWASAMAZING !!! If he was a rapper his name would be «YUNG Hibachi Swag»! He immediately turned my mood around doing tricks with the egg, and squirting saki into everyone’s mouth! He was awesome! THEFOODISSOOOOGOOOD Nobody can take that away from the chefs they are well worth the wait and the portions are satisfying! Of course the hostess and waitstaff could use some customer service training but forget them and enjoy the food! definitely a must try if your in the area

Dark lightning inside. The waterfall feature on the wall is lovely. The food was great! Downside: the waitress was okay, she could’ve been much nicer. Also, at other places I’ve had hibachi at, the cook is a lot more interactive. But everyone is different I guess, the guy we had was okay. For parking, if there’s no space in front, you must park across the way in the garage of the mall. Note: they automatically added tip to the bill when we had each person billed separately

This is my usual hot pot place to go to when I am not feeling buffets and their generic food selections. Of course there options are the same when it comes to the meats, seafood and veggies. They also have several sushi rolls that I can never find anywhere else. One thing that I find Tokyo has that other places don’t is the fish noodles, which is fish paste that is placed in a plastic bag with one end cut of that you can squeeze the noodles out into the pot. Its quite fun and the fish paste is amazing and well flavored. It’s not bland like some others. Fashion Roll & Fancy Roll: I always order these two together, one is fried tempura and the other is rolled. These two are extremely good and I like that they work well together. I can’t order one without the other . Fried Oysters: The oysters are based on head of people there. Honestly, it is good because the oysters aren’t canned but I don’t think I want to pay $ 7.95 for 2 oysters because only two people are there. This is one of the items that I think they should let us know come in an order. Fried Gyoza: The fried dumplings tend to come a little too browned but the filling is good. The only thing I have to complain is that there is always too much oil that is left over. I don’t understand why too because only the bottom is fried. Cilantro & Preserved Egg Broth: If you want a broth that is light and healthy try this broth. I think it stands out from the others. Don’t let the preserved egg scare you! If you dont plan to be here for a few hours, stay away as the service is really slow as there are only two main servers on the floor for hotpot, three if its during intense hours I believe. But they are slow and tend to take forever to get your food to you. There is a younger server that always introduces himself as a relative of the head chef of the grilling side. This gentleman is quite talkative and literally would come around talking to us every time he made a circle. I can honestly say that he was at our table 5⁄6 times in 30 minutes and kept talking for while. I do not like how he had asked me if I was vietnamese and when I answered he didn’t further the conversation. After he came back and talked to me in vietnamese saying that he was going to go eat. He also attempted to pick up my friend and was not successful. He works weekends and tuesdays, I believe and honestly, I avoid those hours because he is way to interested in the customers. Honestly, I love hotpot and I crave it for months on hand. Tokyo is the place to go if you’re not feeling a lot of items. If you do then a hot pot buffet is better. its not too bad.

Your standard Hibachi place. Compared to another in town I do like this one better. My BF loves him some hibachi so I have been here twice with him and once more with another friend. They do your standard smiley face oil on fire, onion volcano, saki shot into your mouth from a squeeze bottle. It is entertaining if you get the right table of people. Food is good. They do a good job on seafood not so great with chicken. They also do hot pot here and sushi but I have not tried either.
