Went there with my son the other day. Only given option to sit at tiny counter as two of the tables were closed. The employee seemed annoyed that we wanted to wait for a table. The sushi in the afternoon was disgusting! Worse than you get in the grocery store that has been packaged and sitting there all day. The miso soup was the same, foul tasting and cold! Big disappointment!

I like Kula. I’d give them a 3.5−4 stars. If you know what to do & what to order, it’s a good sushi spot to go to. Yes, the wait is long, but it’s inside of a mall. So time it right and shop while you wait! After trying almost every sushi /roll on their menu, I’ve discovered some of their food is good, while others are pretty bad. I also like their wasabi, which is important in my opinion :) the service is also consistently efficient and pleasant. Here’s what I recommend: –spicy yellowtail handroll(order from waitress) –tuna sushi –raw shrimp sushi –spicy tuna roll with salmon or tuna on top –salmon sushi –snapper sushi –albacore sushi –tempura udon Tip: they kind of suck at frying(e.g. Karrage), cooked rolls are so-so

I come here every Sunday with my mom like clockwork. We both like eating a lot of different things, but have small stomachs, which is why revolving sushi is perfect for us because we get to try a little bit of everything! The wait here can be long, but it always ends up being much shorter than what they say it is. They also give you a beeper so you can walk around the mall while you wait, which is pretty nice. My favorites are: Popcorn shrimp roll: I love the pieces of popcorn shrimp on top. I also love the spiciness! Dynamite roll: The sauce is delicious Shrimp Taco Takoyaki My mom loves the tuna and the spicy tuna crispy rice. I do agree with the other reviews that this place is pretty pricey. I wouldn’t come here if you enjoy eating a lot– you’re much better off at AYCE!

Saw the promo videos on my FB newsfeed because they are opening one in the South Bay in Norcal and saw that they have those awesome ball things and thought this location has the same. Was a little disappointed when I came in and realized it’s a small mall location and they don’t have the ball thing but still decided to eat here because I was really hungry from the drive down to Socal from San Jose. After trying this place, I must say although it’s a revolving sushi place, it tops some of the sushi places I’ve been to! I love the variety they have and how everything on the belt is $ 2.25! I really liked that they serve all kinds of nigiris, ones you can’t find elsewhere. We had 13 plates all together and I loved everyone of them, which really surprised me. Some of the highlights were: 1. Salmon kama — Omg it was so gooooddd, was so tempted to order another one. 2. Garlic Ponzu Belly 3. Crispy rice with spicy salmon Only thing that sucked was the tea part, every sushi place, I’ve been to doesn’t charge for tea but they charge $ 2 for their hot tea. Overall, I’m excited for this place to open in Cupertino! Hopefully, the CPT location will be as tasty as this one.

Wait time is ridiculous, over an hour. They had seats open on the bar and a booth and they still wouldn’t seat me. They don’t take reservations but they said a group reserved the bar area, talk about preferential treatment! Other customers walk in and are given a wait time of 15 – 20 minutes, I on the other hand was given 45 – 1 hour. Eventually I was given a table and everyone who came after me were also seated immediately. One of the waiter(a man) tonight walked to the booths and asked if everything was okay and completely ignored and did not approach my table. Horrible service and customer service! I don’t recommend this location. I’ve been to the other Kula location in Laguna and their sushi is real good for the fact that it’s reasonable and decided to try this location, my mistake!

Very upset that I waited for them to tell me it’s last call and we have 5 mins to decide on what we wanted while we were waiting for a table. Not the first time I’ve gotten horrible service at this place

We saw and stepped on a cockroach as we were finishing up our food. We got a 20% discount after advising the staff, disgusting, definitely won’t be coming back.

This place was great. Here’s the deal, if you want great tasting sushi, attentive service, and not a big bill at the end of your meal… come here. We tried lots of different things and even my picky daughter was enjoying rolls she had never tried before. We will be back again.

So this was my first time at a sushi place and eating sushi EVER! I’ve never been a fan of eating raw fish, but I was opened to trying new things so my friends took me to this place. Service was friendly and good. Had to wait a while, but it was because the restaurant was small with limited tables. I think we had 24 plates @ $ 3/plate. The sushi was pretty decent, but it was my first time eating sushi. So I would come here again… now that I like sushi!

3.5 stars It’s super convenient and since it is revolving sushi style, you don’t have to wait for your food(unless you order from their menu). I needed a quick bite before my hair appointment in the area and I was able to finish eating in less than 30 minutes. Each plate is 2.25. It makes it easy to count and split if you are in a group. They even serve tonkatsu ramen for about 4 dollars. I can usually eat about 5 – 6 plates. The nigiri pieces are TINY though and there are only two pieces on each plate. Obviously don’t expect 5 star quality fish but the quality is okay for what you pay for. Service was average and inconsistent depending on how busy they are.

Waited 30 minutes for a party of 3, but they gave us a buzzer so we just walked around the mall to wait it out. It’s a pretty small place. You get what you pay for. 3 – 4 rolls per plate and its $ 2.25 each. You can request a roll off the menu if you don’t see what you want on the belt. Our server, Matthew, was great. Thanks for an awesome first moving-belt sushi experience!

I have been here a few times, often to get my quick sushi fix. The business location is actually quite small. They have only a few tables and some bar seating. The staff is generally very observant and are able to quickly respond to any needs or questions that you may have. You can pick your sushi from the rotating belt or you can order off the menu a la cart. The also have a selection of Ramen that you can also order. I found that the Ramen was not really that great but I will have to give them a free pass on this since they are not a Ramen location nor are the recognized for their Ramen. The sushi was fair, nothing really to rave about. Pro: –Attentive and friendly staff –À la cart orders come out quick Con: –limited seating, ergo long wait times Overview: This place isn’t best place to go if you want fancy sushi. I would consider this place to be a quick fix if you want some reasonable priced sushi this is the place to go. Seating can be problematic if you come with a large group. But, overall I think I would come back for a quick sushi fix.

This place rocks. How can you not beat the price of $ 2ish a plate! This place is the perfect spot for when you want to grab a quick bite of sushi but dont want to spend the typical $ 40+ tab. They have a good selection and its actually quite delicious. The wife and I usually chow down on maybe 10 plates. Keep in mind we are having a wide variety while maintaining a $ 20ish tab! Thats awesome! We are frequent diners here. The staff is ok, I mean what do you expect for a mall restaurant theyre always rushing, cant blame them. The revolving plates is very entertaning, it adds to the whole experience. Going back soon!

Fiancé and I decided to have a quick dinner stop here. Based on the four star reviews and our own personal sushi experiences, the bar was kind of set high, and I wish it wasn’t. Service was just okay. It wasn’t outright horrible, but there was little enthusiasm on the part of the servers. It was difficult to catch their attention, and they rarely checked on customers. I managed to put one order in. After I received that order, my server seemed to disappear. It is a small joint, and they were relatively busy, however, as former servers ourselves, we have managed much larger dining rooms(40 – 50 table range) staffed with only four people, while they were staffed with three for about 12 – 20 tables. In other words, they have the potential to be great, as they are friendly when you talk to them, but tonight wasn’t their night. As a former sushi chef, at a similar type of revolving sushi bar, I always walk into a sushi joint with assumptions of how sushi should be made. I always grab from the belt and place an order to compare. From my own training, lids should be free of grime, moisture free, and with little damage. Some lids on the belt had some residue left over from grimy gloves, and some had lots of moisture collecting inside, a few where you could barely see the food on the plate. Moisture makes rolls soggy and fall apart, and this held true for most of rolls we grabbed off the belt. A lot of the lids were bent or damaged. It detracted from the overall appearance. As for the initial food, for 2.25 a plate, I got my money’s worth. It’s not going to be the most fresh, but it passes for good and cheap. Fiancé loved the spicy popcorn shrimp roll. I was hesitant at first since the overall presentation is rushed(small revolving bar means food goes fast, so they have to prep fast), but I warmed up to it after the third plate. Something to watch out for, a lot of rolls have eel sauce. I love eel sauce, so it did not bother me much, however, fiancé tired of it. He usually will eat about 10 plates worth, but he stopped at 7 plates as the sauce made everything taste the same. A small place with small variety, a price you pay for cheap. I wanted to point out the presentation matter to the manager, and asked him to speak with me. Very nice man, and you can tell he does care about your opinions. I felt like I only confused him though, as my harsh chronic cough prevented me from talking a lot and really going into detail. Hopefully he sees this review and may better understand what I was trying to say. Not exactly a good place for an important date or lunch meeting, but good for a fast sushi fix, especially when your on a slight budget. My time at another revolving sushi bar unfortunately has tainted my expectations of how it should be: be quick but still maintain the artistic value of sushi, fantastic service, taking initiative and conversations a lot with customers, being able to handle loads of pressure and maintain high quality service, etc. We also had more variety and 1.25 more per plate on certain items, so maybe it was just our restaurant is better equipped than this tiny little place. There’s potential here, just a matter of injecting some enthusiasm in the service and the presentation!

As a Sushi in Motion regular, we decided to try this revolving sushi place out. Sunday evening party of 4 we did about a about a 10 min wait. Place is super small, located inside the mall with easy access to parking lot(by Macy’s and CPK). You can start eating as soon as you are seated, my kids love sitting by the belt to grab the plates for us. I have to say the sushi here is really tasty. Here are some of my favorite dishes(all are $ 2.25): Nigiri Soy Sake Marinated Salmon Soy Sake Marinated Tuna Seared Salmon Japanese Mayo Umami Oil Seared Beef Garlic Tuna Steak(super fave) Garlic Ponzu Salmon(another super fave) Roll Spider Spicy Tuna Crunchy Sides Crispy Rice with Spicy Salmon Tonkotsu Ramen($ 4.80) Dessert Japanese Style Soy Milk Donuts with Vanilla Ice Cream($ 3.20) Overall, I liked it better than the other local revolving sushi place. We will be making Kula our new regular favorite sushi spot!

The only a very small size Kula, but has all the same options as other Kula Locations. Kula is my favorite Revolving sushi spot. Not to say that, there aren’t many and its competing with itself. There are actually a number of revolving sushi spots, like Gatten and Zensen, then there are one off revolving places like Kaizen Kaiten. Kula is more of the branched out names from the bunch, and I think they have the best value. Every play is the same price and they have special orders that would specify a different price. Right now they have it at every plate being $ 2.25, which was raised not too long ago. I love getting the seared salmon and the popcorn chicken. I pretty much get every variation of salmon possible. My new addiction is the Salmon with Umami Oil. It just has a taste that I like even better than their Soy Sake Salmon. Try this place guys! The sushi moves to you! and you can order.

Service — OK Food — Good Refillable fountain drinks — Good Not every Kula is the same. This Kula is much smaller than its Irvine counterpart. Although it is smaller, that last visit showed that this place gives a fresher set of fish than Irvine becauce the conveyor belt is smaller and the cooks have to refresh plates at a faster rate. The Irvine location doesnt have to refresh the same dishes as often because they have twice the size of conveyor belt. The plates we always get are the seared salmon with mayo, seared beef with yakiniku sauce, and the popcorn chicken just like how i mentioned in the irvine location. Even though they serve a more fresh set of fish, I don’t think being the best kula because of their consistency and the size convenience does alter a tough decision for large parties. Good things is that they all serve refillable soda and tea, and price per plate is all the same compared to other revolving sushi plates can have different prices and can be too pricey. On an different spectrum, zensen with an even smaller price tag does not have the freshness and availability of sushi options available.

This was my first time ever going to a place like this one, a revolving sushi bar. At first I was a little confused on how everything worked, but after we got seated and the waiter explained it, I have to say, I like the idea behind it. The food was decent and the customer service was good. Personally, I liked ordering from the server, it just felt like the food was fresher. Would I go back? Probably not, but don’t let that stop you from trying it.

Other than Korean BBQ in SoCal, I always think of sushi when I come down. I’ve been Unilocaling this place out because I’ve absolutely dying to try this place out. I’m not even gonna lie… but counting down my SoCal trip, I looked through the business photos every night… LOL. The sushi craving struggle is so real. My boyfriend and a couple of friends tagged along with us going here. It was our last meal in SoCal before we head back home. The address kind of threw us off since we didn’t know it was inside the mall. But in case you were wondering where it is, if I remember correctly, it’s above Macy’s! The entrance to this place was a little weird too. It leads you to what it seems the bathroom first, then you walk a little hallway to where you get seated. The inside is small, but it felt cozy. As for sushi, you can beat OR find $ 2.25 sushi anywhere. I seriously wish we had that price of sushi back home. NOW — if you’re looking for some fancy shmancy high quality sushi, this isn’t the place. But if you’re just an all around sushi fanatic, you’ll love this place and splurge on the amount of plates you can stack up. I especially loved all their nigiri because it melted in my mouth. I loved their crispy fried rice with crab meat and avocado on top. My absolute favorite was their seared salmon nigiri with mayo. I probably devoured 6 plates of it… NORAGRETS. I was depressed leaving this place just because it won’t be for a while until I can come back and eat at such a rare find in NorCal. Until next time Kula! You successfully and happily fulfilled my tummy!
