so super juicy! aside from the name, I love their dumplings and house spareribs. Both of these dishes taste sweeter than what’s normally found in other places. Aside from these two dishes though, can’t say I like their sesame noodles or vegetable dishes

I loveeee their pork belly fried rice. Their da long bao isn’t half bad either. It’s more of a novelty, but I do enjoy that. I’ve had their normal xlbs and I remember them to be pretty tasty. I think I still prefer Mama Lu’s, but if I am craving the fried rice I’d definitely choose to come here! I’ve since moved to NorCal so I don’t get to come here all too often anymore, but I still find myself recommending the da long bao to people who visit the area!

Every dish we had here was so flavorful and delicious! After a tough workout, I was ready to chow down on some dumplings with my bf! The staff was friendly and the service was very quick. Even all of our food was brought out way faster than expected! We ordered Garlic Cucumbers which were crisp and savory, and a good compliment to all our other dishes. We got the recommended sweet Pork Steam Dumplings which were amazing(and super and juicy)! Also the Sesame Sauce Mixed Noodles which had all the right flavors! And lastly Pan-fried Pork Wontons/Dumplings! Omg so good we gobbled everything up in less than 10 minutes! I’ve been to many dumpling places in Chinatowns in San Francisco and Oakland, and I would put this place up there with some of the best I’ve been to! I’m so glad this place is in SoCal and close to my bf’s place so we can indulge in more dishes here later!

Went back for lunch by myself and ordered the pork dumplings(aka XLB) and the dumplings in spicy sauce. The service was fine this time around and I think for the most part, I like the place. However, I’m comparing this place to Din Tai Fung, and I guess it isn’t a fair comparison. I’m slightly put off by the sweetness of the dumplings and sauces. The dumplings in spicy sauce had some dry ingredients on top that I wasn’t a big fan of. In any case, good spot to come to but I’ll go out of my way to eat Shanghai-style dumplings at South Coast Plaza — Din Tai Fung

Be prepared if you’re going to eat here. Be ready to wait a little bit for a table to open up. Understand the menu. Be ready to order when they come over to serve you. Don’t ask a lot of questions. But here’s the good part… The food is great. Authentic shanghai style. Don’t be silly. Order the super juicy dumplings. We also like the hoisin spare ribs. And those bean seedlings/sprout thingies. If the staff was only a tiny bit friendly we give it five stars.

It’s hard to find a good Chinese restaurant that has great food, low noise level, clean facility & dishes, uncrowded, affordable prices plus friendly service. For these reasons, I often avoid dining in unless I am obligated to stress out at such places for a get-together with family or friends. This place came highly recommended by my friends, so I reluctantly showed up for lunch. Much to my surprise, there were plenty of seats and no line on a Tuesday at 12:45PM. I had such a good experience for lunch that I came back on a Friday evening with my family at 6:30 and we were seated immediately. I was impressed with the fresh ingredients, tasty entrees, and large portions. It was pretty neat to see how quickly they can make your dumplings with the fancy folds by hand. I only wish the restaurant was larger, so it could have more big tables for their large portions of food. Given how much food they serve per entrée, the price is very reasonable; I hope they never change that! This restaurant is definitely my first choice if I want great Chinese food and a pleasant experience. So glad they have a spacious parking lot, unlike other places where you’re guaranteed a ding or a bumper scrape when you come out after your meal. Will be back!

Plenty parking in same plaza as Home Depot and Ross. Waited 10 mins on a Sunday night acter 7pm. Though they have large tables for groups, there can be a wait. 1. Pork soup dumplings– just the right ratio of juice, skin wrap and meat. I do think the meat is tastier at DTF, but this was one of oue favorites on our list of soup dumplings. 2. Cucumber appetizer-though I can make this at home, I still liked the right proportion of seasonings. 3. Taro soup-didnt know what to expect. Big chunks of taro in a sweet soup. This would taste better if the taro was presented in smaller pieces which I mashed up myself since the taro doesn’t taste like anything. If they added some red beans and/or rice balls, I think this would be a winner.

First time coming here. I hope I get the same great service I got today next time. As for the food, tried the ribs and it was the booooommb! They give a full rack cut in pieces. But oh that marinade/sauce. Oh my goodness. Oh my goodness. Dumplings were good. Different. I never had a juicy dumpling before. I’d try it again though. Fresh too.

I was craving dumplings on Friday so we decided to check out this dumpling place in Brea. The wait wasn’t too bad but there was absolutely no customer service when we walked in. The sign in sheet is pretty confusing and there isn’t anyone around to address you or answer your questions. For a party of 3 we got seated in about 35 – 40 minutes. Food Wuxi Spareribs: This is a huge portion, we were not expecting them to be so big. It was very saucey and had a sweet flavor to them. I could only manage to eat one because we ordered way too much food. Juicy Pork & Crab Bun: I came to specifically try this bun and it was huge! You could probably manage to get full from this one item. They give you a straw to sip the soup but it does not work really well. I ended up just cutting it up to eat it in pieces i didn’t get much of the soup. i probably won’t be getting this item again. Its worth it to try it though. Sesame Sauce Noodles: I did not like the texture of these noodles, it was really floury and sticky but the favor was good. Juicy Pork Dumplings(sweet): This was probably the best dish that i tried. The soup and meat were delicious! Juicy Pork & Crab Dumplings: similar to the juicy pork dumplings but they didn’t have that sweet soup. So if you prefer something thats a little more savory go with this dish! Juicy Pork & Shrimp Dumplings: Not my favorite. The dough on the dumpling was floury and the shrimp also had a weird texture to it.

One of my favorite chinese restaurants in the OC, although expect some waiting time during dinner because it can get pretty busy. I’ve been here at least 3 times now, and left each time with a happy belly! Reasonable price, pretty clean, and good service. I would highly recommend this place. Tried: Pork Dumpling(xiao long bao): 5⁄5 All I have to say is, It’s heaven in your mouth! So juicy and delicious, such a better alternative than din tai fung which is extremely overpriced. They give you some sliced ginger so you can create your own sauce with vinegar and soy sauce. Spicy Beef Noodle Soup: 3⁄5 Beef was pretty good, but it was way too spicy for me. Although I do have a low tolerance for spice. I probably wouldn’t order it again. Pork Fried Rice: 4⁄5 Very flavorful fried rice with finely chopped baby bok choy. Wuxi Spareribs: 4⁄5 On the saucier side, but the meat was tender and would go well with rice. Cold Sesame Noodles: 4⁄5 Came with veggies and the perfect amount of sesame oil/spicy sauce. It wasn’t too spicy.

Authentic made to order steamed soup dumplings! I ordered 4 different kind(pork/crab, pork, pork/shrimp, spicy oil) and all were very good and juicy. My wife ordered the big super jumbo one and it was fun/novelty but left a lot to be desired in taste. We ordered the beef/shrimp fried rice and vegetable/shrimp dumpling soup to share and both were spot on good. All of this came out to $ 55 which was cheaper than our dinner the previous night at a burger joint. The fact we went on a Monday Dec 28th(vacation) around 7:15pm might have been an issue with a 45 minute wait. I noticed after 8pm the wait died down considerably. We, the family, really enjoyed the food here and it is comparable to Din Tai Fung with a much more manageable wait and ample parking. I have no idea why people tend to be so negative about reviews these days, but this place is legit. Everything we ordered was very good and would have no problem ordering the exact same thing again minus the jumbo dumpling. This is a mom and pop establishment and not a huge global corporate restaurant ala DTF so comparing the two is a bit misleading. Again, I fed my family of four, 2 adults 2 children, for less than $ 60 and will visit this place again. Worth the effort to get out there but just remember the place is small so a party of more than 6 is hard to get seating. Enjoy!

Taste– **** Ambiance– **** Parking– ***** Service– **** This place is pretty darn tasty, not sure why it has the bad rep on Unilocal. There are Unilocal reviews, and there are my cousin Kelly’s reviews, and often Kelly is right. She recommended this place and it’s pretty legit. This is pretty much Chinese food. The dumplings are pretty super juicy, and flavorful too! I also really love their sides dishes. We had some stir fried green beans and a cucumber salad, some perfect accompaniments to the dumplings. Service was pretty friendly, and parking is good n plenty.

Extremely overrated. If it wasn’t for a few good side dishes and and a decent bowl of noodles, this place could’ve fallen to a 1 star. When evaluating a good XLB, you have to consider the quality of meat, the flavor, and the skin(flour) holding it all together. The meat, to me, might as well have been hot dog. It was rubbery and you could hardly decipher between fish and pork. It was almost as if they just mashed up a random mixture of protein and overcooked it, giving it a rubbery texture. The flavor — too salty, and definitely loaded with MSG. The skin — too thick and hard, opposite of DTF. Service was also terrible. DTF is more expensive and yes wait times are even longer, but it calls for a good reason. This place is not even close to DTF, which is disappointing, as more options is always a good thing. Note: the dumplings were not good either.

Just come here for the XLB. Juicy Pork Dumplings(9) $ 7.95 Extremely juicy! Probably the juiciest XLB I’ve ever had. But this XLB is a little sweeter in taste compared to most. Sesame Sauce Mixed Noodle $ 5.65 You know when you leave noodles out too long and they start to stick together? That’s exactly what we got. The sesame sauce was tasty and spicy, I just wish the noodle weren’t clumped together. Pan Fried Pot Stickers(10) $ 8.25 The XLB are definitely juicy, but these were insanely dry! How could two dumplings be so different?! Overall meh. I’d just order the XLB again.

Ok… I’m pretty sure this is not how xlb is supposed to taste like. I’ve only had xlb from Joe’s Shanghai and Shanghai Manor in NYC’s Chinatown, so maybe there’s a difference from east coast? But it was pretty disgusting. We got the sweet pork dumplings that was the most popular item, and it was soo sweet like there was syrup coming out of it. My friend took one bite and couldn’t eat it. I tried to eat a few, but stopped after 3. The spicy wontons I’ve had at so many other places had this weird SMELL to it. It seriously was so off-putting I lost my appetite after. Only thing that was okay was the string beans. Although it was really salty, at least it was edible.

A Chinese joint in Brea. I’m going to sound like a broken record, but the food is decent & gets the job done. Most stuff is about 3⁄5 in terms of quality. Prices for each dish run about $ 9 each. 3.5÷5 — slightly above average –Shredded Pork w/Bean Curd — enjoyable. Does the job. Not the best in the world but decent. –Cucumber w/Garlic(appetizer) — enjoyable. It tastes refreshing. 3⁄5 — Decent/average –Kung Pao Chicken — I thought this tasted OK. The peppers used almost makes this taste like a pizza. I wouldn’t order it again, tho. –House Special Spare Ribs — Tasted OK. A bit over the top sweet. –XLB — Xiao Long Bao — Decent & does the job. –Stir Fry String Beans w/Garlic — Decent & does the jbo. 2.5÷5 — Below average –Rice Cakes — Bleh. Lacked flavor and didn’t have any sauce. I wasn’t a fan. TIPS: –About 10 mins from the 57 freeway exit

If you’re craving a quick fix of Chinese food, this is it! It’s really popular with families and older Chinese adults so you have to believe that it’s more than decent. We ordered spare ribs, string beans, and two orders of shrimp and pork dumplings. The spare ribs have a hint of fennel which I’m not too much of a fan of, but they did seem to be one of the popular dishes. The dumplings took a good 15 – 20 min to come out after we ordered; it felt like they had forgotten about our order. They were definitely not as juicy as the restaurant name says they are so that was a bit of a disappointment. But they are made fresh, evidenced by the kitchen crew hand making them visibly. All four dishes came out to a little over $ 40, but I think I’d be willing to make a trip to the SGV for a better meal, obviously. Plus, service is incredibly slow. One person manning the entire restaurant is not enough. But I guess that’s how places like this roll…

Meh, it was okay. Like Angela S. I came in with low expectations. It is Brea, so I was not expecting anything spectacular and I was right. My brother and I came about 5 minutes after they opened on rainy day and there were only 2 tables occupied. I took a quick glance at the menu and saw that it was a typical dumpling place menu. They had dumplings, noodles, rice dishes, entrees and soup dishes. They gave us a menu and a paper with all their menu items for us to mark down what we wanted. Prices are on par with Din Tai Fung which means about $ 1-$ 2 more than a hole in the wall type of dumpling place. I ordered my typical dumpling order, cucumbers in garlic sauce, wontons in spicy sauce, and juicy pork and crab dumplings(unsweetened). I forced my brother to pick another dish because he eats a lot. He choose, out of all things, potstickers. I should have known. Cucumbers with garlic: if you love cucumbers prepared this way, do yourself a favor and order this. It was so garlicky, I love it! They gave a pretty good portion too. Wontons in spicy sauce: I always order this at every dumpling place I go to, if it is available. Sometimes ya need a little spice in your life, my brother liked it. I did like that it was covered in peanuts but not a fan of the sauce. Tasted like they just bought a jar of chili oil from the market and dumped it over some wontons. I have had better ones. Potstickers: the skin on these were so thick. The meat inside was not all that great either, it was densely packed in there but it was nice and juicy. I was not a fan, the frozen dumplings you get from the market are better. Juicy pork and crab dumplings: ahh finally getting to these. In all honesty, I did not enjoy these. The skin was very thick, however the meat had a good flavor and they had a good amount of soup. The thick skin just killed it for me. As we were eating I saw the restaurant slowly start to fill up with patrons. By about 6 or 6:30 it was pretty much packed. They are doing very well, must be the lack of competition. For North OC standards this place is a gem, if this place were to exist in the SGV. No contest, there is now way they would make it. I would suggest giving it a shot if you live/work in the neighboring area and are too lazy to make the drive over to Rowland or something.

This place can be hard to find. Its located in the shopping mall where the Home Depot and Walmart is, across the street from Trader Joe’s. Just follow the parking lot to the cluster of restaurants, and Super Juicy Dumplings is located on the corner, facing Party City. I came here with a group of friends on a Sunday night. At 8:00 pm, the place was still full, and we had to wait for a table to accommodate us. If you are familiar with Din Tai Fung(or for that matter, most dumpling places), they offer you a sheet of paper where you mark off what you want to eat. While waiting for our table, we started ordering the food items we wanted as «last call» was 8:45 pm: — 4 orders of the XLB, juicy pork dumplings(savory, not sweet) — Fried potstickers — Fried meat wontons — Yang chow fried rice — House chow mein — Black pepper beef — Kung pao chicken — Green beans and for dessert the red bean dumpling Some of the Unilocalers here think its better than the famous Din Tai Fung, while others say they’re not up to par. Each person will be a critic. Its like saying in Philadelphia, which Cheese steak place is better: Pats or Genos(its Pats, btw). Clearly they are trying to be like DTF by offering a window for you to watch them make their dumplings. But, are they as good as DTF? I’ll let you decide, but I did find the XLB dumplings to be «super juicy» as their name implies. Oddly my favorite dish wasn’t the dumplings but the black pepper beef. A generous portion of meat, and it would have gone great with some steamed white rice. Aside from the pot sticker, all the food came out fast. I was disappointed the pot sticker came out after all the dishes, including the red bean dumpling. The food was good, but I would not consider this the best Northern Chinese food I’ve had. The prices were ok, and the portions were decent. The items we ordered fed 9 people, with just a little left over. Its not a big place, so I am sure it can get very crowded. If you’re ordering dumplings, I would suggest dining in. Otherwise, if its busy, take it to go. The place is clean, but like most Chinese places, service is just ok.
