Gah! I was so stoked to try the new tofu bowl due to seeing it on a piece of junk mail. I pulled up, saw the giant sign outside with the tofu on it. I was pumped. I walked inside, it was empty except for 1 person eating and 2 ladies at the register. I saw the tofu poster behind the counter. My body was ready. I told the cashier that I would like to order the tofu bowl… ANDMYWORLDCAMECRASHINGDOWN. He said«I’m sorry, we’re actually all out of tofu.» and to add insult to injury he added«you’re like the 3rd person to ask for it since we’ve been out.» WELLDAMN, CANYOUPUT A DISCLAIMERORSOMETHINGONTHEDOOR? ORPUT A «NOTAVAILABLE» SIGNOVERTHETOFUSIGNS? If I’m «like the 3rd person to ask» then do something so that people stop asking for it. Also, this is the only location that has charged me extra to chop up the chicken. It’s only a 50 cent charge but no other location has thrown that charge on there.

We came to this location because they still carry ribs, most don’t anymore. Almost all the tables were dirty and the place was empty. The guy who worked there thought it would be more important to clean the floors first though. Unfortunately I was served jerky with rice. The meat was so overcooked. The veggies were cold. My husbands ribs were ok, still a little overcooked though. Just disappointed since we love FB just not this location.

Poor management causing understaffing and long wait times. I waited 15 min for a simple chicken bowl.

Came in here because we love flame broilers, too bad all can’t be consistent due to the franchise ability… We walk in and wait today Tuesday 2−16−16 and the employees looked frightened by their owners presence. I guess they were shut down last night due to a pipe burst but are open now? Uhm okay don’t make your problem your customers… Things looked fine. That aside– we order two dishes, and their machine freezes so we wait(the first customers, we say we will pay when it’s restarted) you would think they would start cooking your food since we’re dining in and she knew that, instead a line forms, she goes to prep everyone’s order she takes after the long wait and serves everyone at the same time? Bullshit. Take care of your customers first then next then next be consistent and consecutive. We’re starving and we should have gone to the location down birch street. You would think this location can get their act right maybe offer a free drink for the 20+min wait before our food was even prepared… Or maybe prep their sauces for their customers something nice? Nope definitely not here!

I know that chain restaurants are all the same & don’t need a fancy review. Just had to mention that this Flame Broiler location has been good to me, they put out good good & always double check my order. I enjoy flame broiler because I can get a healthy, quick meal without spending a bunch. When I’m dieting I get a chicken veggie bowl with ALL veggies(no rice, just chicken & steamed veg) and I get all white-meat chicken for a little bit extra. This location is in the Brea Walmart strip mall, a very convenient location for me! Haha. I’m always at Home Depot, Walmart or Nordstrom Rack so it’s nice to have a place to grab a quick bite. I have to give this location props because it stays busy and yet I’ve never really had to wait that long in line, which is great!

I had a terrific lunch yesterday at this FB. I am not a fan of this type of food generally but I wanted something healthier than typical fast food. The service was very friendly, the place was clean and yo my pleasant surprise, the food was fresh, warm and very tasty. I will definitely keep this place on my culinary radar.

I have no problems with this establishment, I actually work nearby and frequent it often because the prices are fair and the food is delicious. My negative review is on behalf of a specific employee by the name of Liliana(or at least that’s what it says on the receipts). She is noticeably displeased every time a customer walks in, she is always seen gossiping with coworkers in the kitchen, she has complained to me personally about how much she dislikes her job, the magic sauce is almost always empty, on my last visit she asked me to GETUP so that she could sweep underneath where I was sitting. This girl has terrible customer service and it’s unfortunate that she is the one I have to deal with on every visit. I have also missed out on numerous reward points because she does not ask. I could have gotten 3 free bowls by now with how often I eat lunch here. I hope that she’ll change her behavior and realize that even if she doesn’t enjoy her work, she’s getting paid to do a job and needs to do it 100% regardless of how she feels.

Used to love this place! For some reason it’s going downhill ever so slowly! Went there recently, ordered a REGULAR chicken bowl. Went to get the magic sauce that’s ohhhh so good on the food, then it’s sits in your stomach later on but you don’t care cuz it’s so good, anyway, all the dispensers were empty! What the hell, the place was empty! Ask for sauce & the guy kinda said something I couldn’t understand & he walked away. Got my bowl and asked for sauce again. He had to come out, check the dispenser, like I was lying about it, then go to the back, bring some out, and take it apart to put the sauce in. Took longer than the food. Got some sauce, went home, opened my bowl that is now smaller than it used to be, but they charge you the same, and low and behold, it was 2/3rds of a bowl! Gotta find a new go to place I guess. Oh, forgot to mention, the magic sauce table was covered in sauce, and the guy didn’t even wipe it away. Looked disgusting.

Music up a little too loud. And air conditioning needs to be relaxed a bit… But, overall a nice location. Food is consistently good. And they are currently offering a nice deal consisting of a chicken/veggie bowl + a drink for $ 6.95 + tax.

I love Flame Broiler… this one is one of the nicest ones around and the friendliest! Always clean and they have a loyalty program that gives you discounts, nice little bonus. The dining area has lots more room to sit than most. Parking can be a little bit of a hassle as this is a very busy and popular shopping and eating center, however not enough to deter me(like the one on Birch Street in Brea, parking there is a bitch) I love LOVE love the fact that you can get Vitamin Water Zero on «draft» here, I enjoy having a yummy drink without it being a soda. Personal bonus points for that one. I will say though, that on a couple separate occassions, I’ve been served rubbery rice and fatty chicken though. I’ve never had that at any of the other locations so it was kind of a bummer, especially since it happened more than once. Thank you to his location for being pleasant, friendly, clean and roomy. CHEERS!

Love how its open at 10am! I get my «Lunch» break around that time and for sure I know its freshly made. You can’t beat the $ 6.xx Chicken bowl combo($ 7.01 after tax, comes with a drink). I’ve had the beef before, but its like over cooked/grilled. But the chicken is soft and moist.

This is a definite«go-to» spot for my office to grab or pick up a quick meal so we can keep on working. Parking is shared by the other dozen dining options in the complex, but if you get there just before 12noon you should be good. My boss and I both have the rewards program on our phones which helps when we’re ordering for meetings. Discount’s decent. Just make sure if you’re ordering more than 6 bowls, to bring a box or tote bag to carry everything in. Cashiers greet you as soon as you walk in the door, sometimes ‘yelling’ over the paying customer standing right in front of them. Orders are filled pretty fast, but still could be hotter in temperature. Just waiting to find out when our discount day is!

I normally go to the flame broiler down the street(imperial and rose) but today i had some errands to run in the shopping center. there is a HUGE difference from one store to the next. first off, they are VERY slow here, rice is so dang dry(under cooked) and WHERE’S THECHICKEN! they must have to measure it with a baby spoon or something. comparing it to the one i normally go to, the Rose establishment has far better quality, more meat and green onion and is way faster. someone from this one should drive down the street to see what they’re doing right. —-never again :(

I want to say most of this Restaurant chain works the same way, so in a sense that is good because this place churns out some good food. You really can’t go wrong with the chicken or beef bowl. This location actually has a lunch special for a chicken bowl and drink for $ 6.49(I think) It is a really good deal. Nice and clean. Employees are friendly. This is a very satisfying spot for your lunch

(I originally sent this directly to Flame Broiler’s management via their own website and received a poor response from the regional manager, so I decided to post it here on Unilocal. The part about the only chef you will read about was not even addressed in her response.) Ever since this Flame Broiler has opened, I have noticed it has been low or understaffed each time I’ve come in. They did have a help wanted sign posted on the door on this particular occasion. This past Tuesday night was the worst experience I’ve had ordering taking-out since I can remember. It began with the promotion on the door to join the rewards program. I texted to join the rewards, and rather than being able to use my newly acquired 10% off coupon for the four bowls I ordered, the woman at the counter told me that I could not use it for the first 24-hours — even with her override attempt. Nowhere was it stated in the text message(s) that I had to wait 24 hours to use the coupon. I would have probably been better off just joining the rewards program at the counter, as this text coupon will most likely expire before I ever consider going back to this location. Concurrently, the woman at the counter was on the phone with another store location discussing the finalization of transferring the ONLY chef at this location on Imperial Highway to their store. SORATHERTHANGETTINGFRESHLYPREPAREDBOWLS, MYBOWLSWERETAKENOUTOFRICECOOKERSANDWHOKNOWSWHEREELSEBYTHESAMEWOMAN I ORDEREDWITHATTHECOUNTER. SONOTONLYDID I NOTGETTOUSETHE10% OFFCOUPON, BUT I PAIDFULLPRICEFOR A PRE-COOKEDMEAL. The grill wasn’t even on and no one was manning it! I have never, EVER experienced this in my time going to any other Flame Broiler location. And to top everything off — pun not intended — they ran out of lids for my last bowl(and the poor lady behind me and whatever other subsequent customers may or may not have come in that night). So, she had to tape an empty bowl to cover the chicken bowl. The only good things that came out of that order were that the order was done correctly and that it counted towards my new«rewards» program. If I use those rewards, it will be at another valid location. I’m not planning to ever come back to this one. Don’t get me wrong, I like Flame Broiler — but something is very wrong with this location!

Food is hot and fresh. The place is clean. One problem I have is their«side order» of ribs. 3 bones of BBQ ribs and burnt back and front for $ 4.50. That’s a rip-off. Stick to their bowls and plates, don’t order sides.

Terrible service! I went for lunch and the cashier, Jade, didn’t even greet us. She just stood there staring at us with no smile until we ordered. We were the only people in the place at the time too! The chicken was fatty and old. The rice was cooked with way too much water and therefore just mushed together. I definitely do not want to come back to this location.
