Pros: The staff is friendly, and the prices are pretty reasonable. I’ve never had to wait for a bed. They do raffles every month and I won a month of free tanning. Woohoo! Cons: they harass me about lotion EVERY time I go in. The place looks pretty old and needs a new coat of paint. I go during the winter months and cancel during the summer when I can tan for free outside. I’ll probably come back this winter.

After several phone calls to the company I decided this is the best way to get attention and utilize my freedom of speech. On Jan 15 I went the first time to Express Tan. I bought a 6 time package and purchased a lotion which is required with goggles. The tanning lotion was Big Sexy and I was to put it ALL over body. Since this was my first time I decided to wait until I had a base tan before using so I waited. This day I was placed in a bed for 15 minutes came out burnt, miserable and sore. I had blisters all over my body.. I called management and explained what happened and they told me to wait till burn was over before coming back. I stayed away for 7 – 10 days and upon return told management what happened. She apoligized for my experience and said«I SHOULDOFNEVER been placed in a bed the first time 15 minutes.// she would talk to the associate. So, tanning the second time I went 11 minutes. The third time also 11 minutes. So now yesterday Feb 6, 2013.. I know what your thinking why tan when I know the dangers. I was doing it for a skin condition to dry up when nothing else has helped. I explained to management before going into room my past experiences. They apoligized. Finally, I was going to put on my lotion. Okay. So, I went nude… not so abnormal. I started with my feet and worked up all OVER body. I rubbed just about everywhere including face, neck, eye lids, etc… After about 3 minutes or so I noticed I was having problems breathing and having problems with intense heat. I knew I was having a reaction to Big Sexy Lotion! I got dressed went out where 4 associates were at the register. Obviously, by there reaction I was having more than a reaction. They asked what I used. I told them Big Sexy and showed them the packet. They stated, ‘Oh No, that is Jerico(not sure) and it’s NOTTOBEUSED on face, neck, etc… they gave me water and a towel to put on my face and neck. Another associate. saw this and stated, „NO, don’t put water on it … it will accelerate the burn.“ They then gave me aloe vera to place on it. Another person said,» NO don’t put that on it. it will only hold the burn in.” After 2 attempts of getting me «help», finally the manager gave me an Aloe Lotion that soothed somewhat. I was then told, they MADE A MISTAKEANDGAVEMETHEWRONGLOTION. I looked like I had a pan of boiling water thrown on me. It was awful. The manager gave me the corporate office phone number but since it was 4:48 no one would answer. She was right. I was told by the manager someone would call me that evening or in the morning. I left but vomited in the parking lot so I decided to o to the B.W. Walk in Clinic. I called the store manager to tell her what I was going to do and was told, it was a waste there wasn’t anything they could do for me at the clinic. I was told… To just not use water for 24 hours, be careful when«pottying», etc… My eyes were almost swollen shut, my throat was burning with fire and I vomited several other times from the pain. Still today… 24 hours later … No one has contacted me. I have a left eye that has blisters under it as well as left cheek with splotches. I have tried contacting corporate office in Clarksville, 3 different stores, asked for the CEO as well as District Manager to call to no avail. I was told by one store manager in Dickson the reason it happened is because it’s all new employees in Brentwood. Really? Today, I called the Brentwood Store and was told, «they credited me my 2 visits that I burned.» ummmm… So, this isn’t a tanning issue. This is an injury issue. I was hurt by the stores negligence. I have tried handling this appropriately but no one wants to assume responsibility. I will be pursuing an attorney and see if this gets someone’s attention. To just assume that a customer has to be okay with this type of behavior or response to something that was obviously neglience is just unacceptable. Avoid Express Tan simply because they don’t care about bottom line… the customer.

Excellent service, friendly staff, and awesome equipment. Much better choice, less cost than suntan city!
