5 stars for the patio & view of the reservoir, but only 2 for the food & service. We recently moved to the area and had heard good things about this place, so we’re excited to check it out. The table side guacamole & chips were good, but our three meals(Osso buco, carnitas tacos and a steak dish) were all really underwhelming. All came with rice & beans, which were just blah and very salty(and I’m a real salt-lover!). The Osso buco meat itself was tasty, but was drowning in a red tomato-based overly-salted sauce. The steak was very tough and hard to eat, and similarly covered in a red tomato-based overly-salted sauce(albeit a bit spicier). My daughters split the carnitas tacos and typically love that dish(it’s their go-to at Mexican restaurants), but could barely eat them. Maybe my husband and a I would return for some margaritas and appetizers only(since the patio is so nice), but for the prices they charge, we expected the food to be a LOT tastier. It really wasn’t even mediocre :(.

Their website says they close at 10, so I felt arriving at 9 wasn’t an issue. The hostess did not greet us, but we were pleasantly greeted by a woman who looked like she may have had a more managerial role. We sat down, and waited a few minutes for our waiter who was very polite. Upon taking our drink order he had informed us that the kitchen was closing in 10 minutes. we told him we understood, but said the website advertises 10 pm, and that being the biggest reason we chose to have dinner there with our later work schedules. Our drinks arrived after our appetizers with our waiter apologizing saying the bartender had already been cleaning up. I was afraid to order a second beverage but he assured it was fine. The food was good, the only reason why I am giving this place 3 stars, but fairly pricey. The rest of employees seemed bothered by the fact that we were still there and didn’t even thank us for coming after spending a decent amount of money. Being one who has been in the service industry for a long time, we treated our waiter well for his good service, but I absolutely will not be back.

I went there for the first time this weekend and loved the location — lake views and awesome outdoor sitting area. The food is very good, but I thought the service could be a lot better. We had to go get our own water after asking 4 times and being ignored.

The place has an excellent view if you sit outside. Thy also have a giant fireplace that is really nice also. Would def. Return in the future

Beautiful setting, good quality Mexican food. Hostess was super stressed and not very friendly but the wait staff was great. Try the coconut mojito!

Unexpected delight. Mexican Spanish with some American offerings. Food was excellent and matched the view on Croton Reservoir. Definitely worth going out of you way for. Just the guacamole alone was the best I ever had, I could have made a meal of it.

Ate there yesterday on way home from NYC. Great Mexican Restaurant and great Margo’s. Would go out of my way to eat here again. Great views of the reservoir and restaurant tastefully decorated. Service was excellent also. I saved this place as a Favorite in my GPS.

Started off great and ended with a bad taste! The guacamole was good! The chicken tortilla soup was delicious. The frozen margarita was just okay – nothing special. The entrees were as ordered – enchiladas and steak fajitas. While we ate, the staff decided it was time to clean up the bathrooms and the kitchen with bleach. I could not eat another bite. I told the wait staff that the smell was ruining our dinners. They said they were sorry and they would take care of it right away but within a few minutes they started cleaning again with more bleach. It was 9:20PM so I think they were eager to get home. They lost my business as I will not go back! Such a shame as the soup was so darn good!

The food was delicious and the staff was very attentive! There were a lot of birthday dinners going on and lots of «Happy Birthday» songs being sung by customers & staff, which just added to the fun atmosphere!

Let me start with YUM. My frozen mango margarita, though short, was delicious and potent. We ordered the guacamole and it might have been the best I’ve ever had, really, really good. My grilled skirt steak smothered in chipotle sauce(Mucho Macho) had to be sent back as undercooked, but was also wonderfully tasty. I love skirt steak and was a little worried that I might not like the sauce, but together it was wonderful. My boyfriend had the chicken with artichoke. The sound of it definitely piqued our curiosity but I was not that crazy about it. It wasn’t bad, it simply didn’t thrill me. Then again, Mexican for me is all about the steak. The place itself was packed, and incredibly noisy, but it was Friday night. I would definitely go back on a weeknight to see if the atmosphere is a little less hectic. The service was pretty good overall, but I think the bus staff was more attentive than the waitress. The mariachi band, though adding to the overall noise level, was fabulous. When they stopped at our table we requested something non-standard and were rewarded with a wonderful song about«what else could I ask for, I have so much already.»

This restaurant has a beautiful fireplace and murals on the walls. The margaritas were good, and of decent quality. The food is NOT authentic Mexican at all. My burrito consisted of frozen mixed vegetables… the ones you get in the frozen food section of the grocery store. I have never had carrots, green beans, corn and peas inside of a burrito before. I blame myself for assuming that mixed vegetables meant fresh veggies. I was expecting fresh peppers, onions, spinach, etc. I regret stopping here and I would not recommend this restaurant to a friend.

Kind of disappointed. Not really authentic :(the margaritas were tasty at least. I ordered fried ice cream for dessert and he drowned it so much in Bacardi that it burned all the fried stuff off of it.(Turned black and I gagged on it) so we paid for a little scoop of melted vanilla ice cream on the most tiny plate. Come on, that’s embarrassing. Not worth the money. My boyfriend liked his food, I thought mine was eh. Bland.

The first time we went here we were blown away by the view and the awesome patio area. It quickly became our favorite restaurant. But it also quickly became everyone else’s favorite as well. In an effort to handle the demand, everything started to feel very rushed and crammed. Then it felt like the food started to become just blah and in some cases severely overpriced. As an example — the seafood soup consisted of 4 shrimp in a broth for $ 12. I am very hopeful that management either finds ways to make things better, or people stop going in droves so that things can settle down and get back to normal.

So, I do not often comment but Las Mañanitas deserves this review. We arrived and they were very accommodating because we needed to move or my son would’ve been dehydrated. Anyway, the food was ordered and it came quickly and it was excellent. I recommend the guacamole, it is made at the table… standard but good. The Verde Enchiladas were very good and the whole plate blended well. It went down as fast as it came. We were a party of 5 and all were happy. Great last 2015 meal. Thank you to the staff. We will be back the next time we are in town.

I was at this restaurant for the first time yesterday. The food was not bad but a little pricey. I noticed another table having an issue with the food they were served. I happened to notice a young lady looking startled as she ate her food and out of her mouth comes a something like a sharp object. She was very upset as she could have chocked or landed in the hospital or maybe she did? The waiter come over and didn’t believe that it could be from their food. And the owner too! How could they be so heartless. I hope she will sue this place for what happen. I know I won’t be coming back, ever and neither will my friends!

Over priced poor quality Mexican food with a great view! Terrible service and it takes them FOREVER to bring you anything! Hello waiters wake up and work as a team! They are just standing there looking at the trees instead of delivering great service! The food is really bad if you know what you’re doing! I am from Mexico and ordered a pozole. When it came the waiter said«here is your tortilla soup». I said” umm I ordered a pozole”. He came back and said that«it was his mistake that it was a pozole!» It was the same bowl of tortilla soup with 3 hominy grains! I was so insulted! They are trying to fool people with an extensive menu that they cannot deliver! It is a good place for drinks, chips and guacamole and enjoy the view. Service is bad and the food is worse!

Here today 8⁄19. Beautiful place. Good for weddings or events. Food was not what I expected. Ordered guacamole which was made fresh and was good n saala felt like it was out of a can. For entrée, I had«Azteca» and the chicken gravy was very salty. It cane With beans and rice and even the beans were salty. Server never cane to clear or take until asked for and we had to ask for him to refill water a couple of times. They weren’t too busy with customers but just busy chatting among themselves in the corner. Not professional at all.

Typical too big for thier britches. .bad table. Wobbly. Hurried waiter… mediocre food. Long wait. .2 hours for simple dinner. Suggestion… don’t serve more than you can handle. Had a reservation. Waited to see the hostess for 10 minutes then got sat at an obvious pull out table next to the kitchen doors and next to another table of folks who were sitting on flimsy plastic folding chairs. Waiter was pleasant but obviously overwhelmed. Drinks came soon enough as did a basket of stale chips which I asked to replace… with another basket of stale chips. Chorizo quesadilla and black bean soup came out in 35 minutes. Quesadilla was less than inspiring but ok. Black bean soup I was going to take home to patch a crack in my driveway. Vegetable fajita my guest had was odd with oversized chunks of cauliflower(?!) Nothing was good except the drinks and the company which we needed to keep our focus off the dining experience. We have been here many times and have had decent meals with the kitchen showing some talent but this was a clear indication of just trying to pack as much as they can in to a night with little regard for how it affects the guest experience. There was no flavor… no zip… no presentation and the guy making the guacamole over salted it as he seemed like he was running a marathon. I don’t need the show if it’s going to suck. It’s a marvelous location. But they need to think hard about trying for a volume record.

Went here on a nice Friday evening. The place is huge and this is a ghost town on the weekends, so I figured I did not need a reservation. We arrived to a nearly empty restaurant and the hostess asked if we would like to sit inside or out. I said out, and then she said I needed a reservation to sit there. The patio was 90% empty with at least 30 available tables, which I pointed out to the hostess. She snapped at me that they were all reserved. I quietly said that she must be mistaken and asked her to check with the manager. She turned around and chatted with another woman, who came to the podium and asked if I had a reservation again. I gestured towards the sea of empty tables. She shouted at me, «There is no need to be rude!» At that point I decided to dine elsewhere. The previous time I went here the food was bland and all microwaved, so I guess I didn’t miss anything. The view is nice, you can see it from the parking lot since they refuse to seat people. Good business plan.

My wife and I had a very enjoyable time last evening, our first revisit here since after its initial opening. The restaurant has a wonderful ambience. It is the site of the previous Italian restaurant Capriccios. It overlooks a reservoir and surrounding trees, and we were seated on the covered outside patio, although we could have been seated on a second lower patio or inside in air conditioning. It felt to me like we were in Mexico, especially on the warm summer evening that it was. The margarita was excellent, and the food was delicious. The service was prompt, polite and efficient. All in all, a pleasant experience.

I was there once this past winter, and again just recently, July 4th weekend. The inside is beautiful, and the food is terrific. The service is really friendly and competent. They just opened the outdoor patio, which is where my party ate this last time. They did a fantastic job with the outdoor seating! Brewster is a little out of the way for me, but this place is well worth the drive.

Awful food. Zero stars. Fantastic view and scene. A star for location, but one comes to a restaurant mainly to eat, right? The food borders on inedible. Bland, but nonetheless excessively salty. Everything — chips, salsa — comes from a jar. The guacamole is made table side, but it has no taste, and is completely insipid, despite our begging for peppers, lemon, onions, anything. Basic, taco bell Mexican, without the spices, and at quintuple the prices. This crappy restaurant wouldn’t last a week in New York.(City, that is.) Yes, the view is spectacular. But the food is awful. Up to you.

I can’t say enough great things about Las Maninitas! The atmosphere is amazing. Looking out to the reservoir is beautiful. The food is also amazing. I’ve been here several times with many different people and everyone has always been happy with their meals. I’ve had two parties at Las Mananitas and everything always goes off without a hitch. At first, when planning a party, I felt a little concerned about how casual they were with details. I now realize this is just their way and they know what they’re doing. They just seem to want people to show up, eat and have a good time. Lastly, I must mention how good they are with my toddler. There’s been times that the servers have brought avocados right over to my daughter. When they have the Mariachi band, they sing Old Macdonalds for my daughter. She loves it. Go to Las Mananitas for an overall great time!

Two stars for the location, drinks and guacamole — everything else falls a bit flat. If you’re looking for a place for great Mexican food, this is not it. The food is edible but not anything to write home about — I’ve been here several times and have never been impressed with what I ordered. For the price and long wait times, you would expect much more. Go here for a strong drink and great guacamole. Look elsewhere if you want anything other than that!

4.5 Stars! So glad I stopped here for lunch as a follow up visit. I prefer coming here for drinks and a lighter meal of mixed appetizers. The view of the reservoir is stellar and dining outside this time of year cannot be beat. Yummy food, really good drinks and a pretty building complete with outdoor fireplace make for a nice diversion.
