My five star review is for the Sangria alone. Don’t know what is in it, although I hear five different kinds of liquor give it that distinctive kick! Awesome. Like a magic potion lol.

This review is for takeout only… The Italian Chopped Salad was great, however it did not come chopped at all. The pizza was good(ordered the artisan pie with artichoke, garlic, cheese, basil). But really nothing spectacular. I was hoping to be wowed. It’s also a tad overpriced in my opinion.

Food is absolutely amazing. Garlic bread came as an actual pie and debated just eating that instead of the Don Gregorio pizza we ordered. Wait staff made you feel welcome and were super interactive. Would definitely recommend Tommys.

Like this place because of good craft beer on tap & decent food. The staff has always been friendly, attentive & personable & food is always decent. Recently had the personal garlic & mushroom pizza as well as the apple salad. Pizza is good, not great(crust could be tastier) & salad was good. Good happy hour. I still stand by what I stated in a previous post however, for a pizza joint, it’s above average.

This was our first time and it was very good. We ordered the cheese bread. Yumm!!! Would also be good if some fresh crushed garlic was on it under the cheese and then sprinkle parm cheese on top of cheese. But other than that it’s still tasty and good. For pizza we ordered meatball and mushroom on one pie and on the other we ordered pepperoni and onions. Both were very tasty but I favored the pepperoni and the thin onions. The dough kind of reminds me of Naan bread. But it is very good. We ordered the pizza and it was literally out in less than 10 minutes. I would definately be back. The wings were recommended but we didn’t try them this time, maybe next time. I’d like to see if they would do a parmesan garlic wings that might be a good taste too.

Wish I had thought to take a picture. We just arrived home from 3 months in Florida and came to our favorite 2 for 1 wing nite. Found out they moved it to Tuesdays! AND the wings SHRUNK. We could not believe they were so small. The manager said they could not control the wing size, but finally said she would let their supplier know. There are many places with better value for money. Being spoiled with a great server does not quite make up for the loss.

On an early Friday evening, we decided to pass on trying the local Rt. 70 spots because quite frankly, the physical locations looked like the typical causal Italian. The atmosphere at Tommy’s is more upscale and clean, family friendly, date night or for friends. At 5:30, we were quickly greeted and seated and looking on the menu, it was a bit pricey; pizza prices average around $ 16 — $ 18. They are enough for two. We ordered a regular, large plain pie, 16″(traditional large is 18″) and I thought it was absolutely delicious and worth the price. A wonderful balance of flavor. We also ordered a meatball parmigiana sandwich which included a salad. Both were better than average, but the Blue Cheese dressing wasn’t a favorite. We added an order of wings because we had a coupon; they were crispy and very hot, not spicy; covered with a rub. Overall, two adults, two kids and we left spending around $ 40. I felt satisfied and will return.

Glad to see that they brought back the all day happy hour. that helps. First time the wings were over cooked to where they were dry. Unfortunately, as with all young untrained staff, when the bartender asked how everything was and my response was«the wings are over done and dry», she didn’t say a single word and kept walking. It’s a shame.

Going on the weekend is best! when I was last there, it was happy hour all day(Saturday) and the deals on apps and drinks were great. Had a friend with me who ordered a gluten free medium pizza and they brought his pie out separately in it’s own tin foil to make sure there was no cross contamination — very nice. Been here only twice but both times pizza was very good! I will say that both times our server was not so great. Service seems to be a bit lacking.

Pizza was ok. Plates were dirty. So was the table, Cups, and silverware. Yeah awesome! Went there for lunch only one guy was there serving all the tables took a while for refills. All I ordered was a pizza. And a topping not all this decretive green crap eeck nasty looking like someone threw grass clippings on it like humm it needs some green there you go bam!

I do not recommend the food or service. But only tried the chicken app, cesar salad, eggplant rollantini, penne vodka w/grilled ch. perhaps the pizza is better but based on service wouldn’t return.

The food was good, but the service was horrible. Next time I’ll do take out. The manager did give us a discount on the bill and the waitress did apologize. So they are sympathetic but not worth $ 60 for lunch.

The garden salad is fresh and the dressing it comes with is so good not too over powering. However it can use more chickpeas. The wings are very good if you like soggy/stewed chicken wings… even after requesting them extra crispy they came out soggy. I ate them since I enjoy stewed moist food. The brick personal pizza is good although a bit salty. I personally love the little old lady who served me. She has a dry sense of humor but very loving! I will def. continue to eat here. :)

Been going here after I swore never to come back. Been enjoying their happy hour specials on food. The apple salad is very good. The wings are too. The bar pie is much better than the regular large pizza. The items on the happy hour specials are very good but that is all I would vouch for. There is a very good waiter in the bar area. Wife, mother-in-law and I were impressed by his skills.

I was very underwhelmed with this place. My boyfriend and I went at lunch time and got the lunch specials. I got an Arugula Salad and a Personal Pie, my boyfriend got Chicken Noodle Soup and a Personal Pie. The Arugula Salad had a lot of dressing on it and just tasted like olive oil. Not seasoned very well and both my pizza and my boyfriends were nothing to rave about. Not what I expected from a place with«Coal Fired Pizza» in the name. The sauce tasted like it was from a jar and I just expected the crust a bit crispier. The one good thing from here though, was their Chicken Noodle Soup. It was one of the best I have had actually. It definitely tasted like it was home made and«from scratch» as the menu states. Pick this up and get it to go! The waitress we had was so nice. Maybe a good place for drinks and bar food — wings and pizza when you’re too tipsy to care about the taste.

Awesome, juicy ribs! The pizza and salad are great too! It’s a bit pricey but not bad if you go during happy hour!

Just ordered take out for chicken wings from Tommy’s coal fired pizza. I have no dipping sauce and when I open my lunch box I found chicken hair on all of my wings(see picture !) It is super disgusting and I lost all of my appetite immediately. I will never visit this restaurant again.

I was very impressed with Tommy’s! We were returning home after a wake, and needed a spot to get some food. All of our old haunts in the Neptune City/Belmar/Manasquan area were full up on a Friday night, and we started down 70. When we saw Tommy’s, it looked busy, but we figured we’d give it a shot. Despite the crowd, a quick five minute wait saw us sat. Drinks came out quick, and the food was fantastic! The meatball side we had was tasty, the pizza had a great, thin, crunchy crust, and the toppings were ample. The only exception I take is that $ 2 to add minced garlic is a little spendy. I understand charging for extras, but when you can get a large specialty pie for $ 20 that includes four or more toppings, or a large plain pie for $ 16, once you’ve added your choice of four toppings, you’re well into the mid-twenties. Regardless, we were starving, and Tommy’s fed us well. I’d definitely go back!
