I like Sam a lot. He does beautiful work and very quickly too. He has altered all of my dress pants for work and a couple of bridesmaid dresses for me. I am a very short person and alterations are my life. If I were smart, I’d learn how to sew myself. But evidently I’m not that smart. Sam is rather pricey. My pants hemming costs $ 12-$ 15 each and I paid $ 125 each for 2 bridesmaid dresses to be hemmed, taken in on the sides, and have a strap shortened on one of them. YIKES, I know. But he’s so efficient, fast, and convenient that I can’t seem to bring myself to go elsewhere, especially given the fact that I usually need my alterations done quickly. He’s a really nice guy too. One time, he had hemmed a couple of pairs of pants for me but when I got home I realized that I wanted them just a bit shorter. I went back and he fixed them for me without an extra charge. Sam’s the man, and I took off 1 star only because I know other places charge much much less. But for me, his convenience and his work are worth it.

This guy does an amazing job with everything I give to him to alter or dry clean. He does it in a very timely manner and its done to perfection. Also always very kind, cause lets face it, we don’t want to go to to a tailor whose not easy to talk to. That’s awkward. His prices are also pretty reasonable, there def not cheap, but there not expensive either, I mean you pay for quality. I would recommend his services.

I was in need to fix my suit ASAP, that I found torn after last party and Sam’s did a great job in 15 minutes. So I was lucky to get on my friend’s wedding on time. Thank you!

I was in need of getting my dress tailored and I needed it to get done in two days. I usually take my tailoring to Your Cleaners, but they weren’t able to do the job on such short notice. So I searched and searched and found this place. It was about to close when I called but the owner was kind enough to wait for me since I was only 15mins away from the location. Anyway, I gave give him the dress and paid a reasonable price to get it tailored. It was done in 2 days and it was perfect. I can say I was really happy with the tailoring he did!

I know Sam Chamo quite well. We have very interesting conversations on his Christian faith and his Syrian origins. I did, however, get the impression that he’s a bit pricey. I used to go there quite a bit for dry-cleaning, and he does a fine job there(it’s hard to screw this commoditized procedure up). I don’t recall the price differential here compared to others for dry cleaning. He’s hemmed up some khaki pants, a sweater, and altered a pants to make into a short for Halloween time. For the first 2, he charged a bit, and he didn’t do a bad job at all — but then I have nothing to compare it to. The Halloween shorts, he charged only $ 5, and was literally complete within 2 minutes as he was talking to his friend on the phone. Finally, now that I recall, he’s also replaced buttons on one of my French cuff shirts. Not bad, but this isn’t hard. Based on how the folks at Brighton Cleaners do, I will start patronizing their business soon.

I usually go to the Lapels on Washington Street but they usually take a long time to do hem work so I decided to try Sam’s… Well I didn’t even get to try Sam’s because I walked out and saved myself $ 70 dollars … yeah I said it … 7−0… which I almost mistook for a 2 – 0 … He didn’t even budge when I asked for my clothes back either … AND he purposely took the hem out he pinned too lol … All I needed done was to shorten two simple cotton dresses… they were $ 15 bucks a piece at Old Navy, are you kidding me?

O. Ver. Priced. Sam seems nice, in an arrogant kind of way. He charged me $ 65 to have one pair of pants hemmed and taken in. You know that expression taken to the cleaners? He’s not kidding. The work he did was good, though the pants were a little shorter than he had indicated they would be. And he was flexible on when he could have it ready(brought in Tuesday, ready Friday instead of Saturday). But holy moly, $ 65? That’s how much the pair of pants cost in the first place. Am I getting a second pair of pants, along with the alterations? Funny story — when I went to pick up the pants, a young lady was dropping off something to be altered. She asked how much it would be(something I should have done) and was blown away. It was $ 60-something for her, too. She made a surprised noise, and he asked how much she expected to pay. She replied $ 30. He said no way, so she left. Sam can charge what he wants for his time and work, but seeing as how Super Cleaners(behind the Shaws in Allston) charges $ 24 for hemming and taking in a pair of pants, I don’t think I’ll be asking for his services anymore. Surprise, Sam — I have about 12 other pairs of pants I need hemmed. And I’ll be taking them to Super Cleaners.
