I just finished helping my friend’s family move all their stuff to their new apartment from the Storage Post unit they’d rented for 3 years. They’d chosen this place because the price was cheapest in their area. The location is difficult if you don’t drive. The walk from the nearest bus and subway stations is 1⁄3 mile. There’s a steep winding ramp that in winter isn’t snow-shoveled or even salted and is dangerously slippery. The road from there to the facility is dark and pot-holed. If you come with a car everything except the actual lifting is easy! I backed my car right up to the push-button-controlled overhead rolling door and left it parked there. We entered with our personal security key code. There was a convenient flatbed hand truck for customers to use. We rolled stuff right up to my car. I was impressed that the facility is very well lit and absolutely clean, with no signs of rodents or bugs of any kind. It’s nicely climate controlled and has motion-sensor lighting and soft rock music playing throughout all the hallways. The office has clean restrooms, tables and chairs for customer use, and moving supplies for sale. The staff member on duty was very polite and helpful. It was great that he spoke Spanish with my friend’s mom so she was at ease in dealing with him to close her account. There are no garbage bins for customers, so be prepared to dispose of your trash off-site.
