This is the BESTBAR in the area to go before a game. Many of the other bars are just as expensive as in the stadium. This is the exception. It is also located right by the bleacher entrance, which is the fastest way into the stadium — even if your seats are behind home plate(but that’s for a different review). Don’t be fooled by the small front bar — this place is huge. The back area, while a little dark, is spacious and always has a fun crowd. The bartenders are very good at attending to the influx right before and after games, so you never need to worry too much about getting a drink. A huge added bonus is the hot dog /pretzel stand in between the front and back area. Also there’s plenty of TVs to catch any other sports going on. We’ve had fun watching Rangers playoff games here after baseball games. The $ 25 dollar minimum is a little bit annoying, but also far from unheard of. My friend’s and I are regulars here, and will continue to be.

Get your pregame on I only have been to The Dugout on Yankee game night. This is a great space with«cheap» drinks. I typed«cheap» because the are cheap relative to what you will pay inside of the stadium. There is a bar in the back, but don’t tell anyone ;). I do wonder what the bar is like on nonbaseball days/nights.

I won’t go anywhere else before Yankees games & take all my guests there. Such a great basic bar: cheap drinks, nice staff & the hotdog/pretzel stand is a winner. I love it most for the space though. Huge screen showing the pre game. A real institution. Never change!

Every time they«run out» of PBR, I’m leaving a 1 star review. It’s opening day, you either didn’t order enough on purpose or didn’t actually run out and just want people to buy the more expensive beers. Either way, you’ll get a 1 star review on all sites when it happens.

I used to go to Billy’s to pre– and post-game on NYCFC game days. No more. Dugout has much better prices. $ 4PBR cans is a great deal!

This bar is a great alternative to Billy’s to get pre/post game drinks! Basically, they are both huge spaces with overpriced drinks and good«pump me up» music. I really like both but do have to say that I noticed the Dugout’s beers are about $ 2 cheaper than Billy’s. I liked that there were 3 bars here so it was easier/faster to get a drink. There’s not much seating, only a few small booths lined up around the back room, but there are tables you can stand at. The best part about this place is the mini concession like stand they have in the middle where they sell hot dogs and various snacks. Not gonna lie, got a $ 3 hot dog and it was amazing!!! *$ 25 minimum for credit cards*

I was here yesterday before the Yankee game against Tampa Bay. i ordered the $ 4PBR16 ounce can. This place is spacious but I didn’t see much seating. So if you like to stand come here.

Things I have learned about the Dugout in the last few years: –Get there early –Push through to the last possible room(I know she looks small but she really has a rear on her) –Get a spot and get a few of those 3 $ beers before they sell out! I’ve always been a fan of the Yankees and have been coming to games ever since I was a wee lass. The Dugout has become a new tradition when it comes to Yankee stadium. The drinks are reasonably priced(I usually am drinking just the cheap beers offered). Sometimes they even have sponsors giving away free beer and crap like chapstick or stress baseballs. I suggest buying rounds or two beers at a time once it starts filling up because the bars are very crowded and its not always easy to get the busy bartender’s attention. Now, it is not my favorite bar in the city. It is certainly not the cleanest and the clientele are often drunk and yelling at each other but that is all part of the allure. This is a bar that makes a vast majority of their money in baseball season when the yankees are playing home. It is clearly divided into separate bars so they can close up shop in the back and only use the small front bar when they aren’t packed to the breaking point with fans. If you are coming here, you are coming for the experience of drinking with 1000 really amped and excitable Yankee fans. And the dugout does this the best in the area. You barely have to burn calories to find this place once you get out of the subway and once the game starts, you can actually see the gate from the front door. Just be aware that when you exit, its entirely possible you might lose one of your friends in the mass of people in that first room. Just keep drinking and hope they have their own ticket to get inside the stadium!

Best bar in the area for a Yankee pregame The place is tremendous, folks normally stop at the front of the packed bar but if you go all the way inside and make a right turn there is a cavernous space with tables, couches and a long bar. Drinks are very reasonable here as are the beer prices. The girls who work the bar are sweethearts and pour a wonderful cocktail. The one criticism I have is that their soda mix is less than deplorable. I haven’t eaten there but I know they sell hot dogs, pretzels and nachos. The bar opens at 10am for a day game and I believe 3 for a night gamr. Stans has the best reputation but I spend my money with the dug out.

I like this place but they kick you out of the place at like 5pm. So game ends at like 4 and they close at 5? Doesn’t make sense to me.

This place is strange. I came here with a group of friends after the Yankees game looking to have a few drinks and catch up. We ordered our first drink and it was reasonably priced and then we began to wander back. The place is huge and it seems to keep on going which I thought was neat. We get to the back room and enjoying our first drink and chatting. Before you know it, they are kicking us out of that room and into the next. Ok, fine. We go into the second to back room and order our second drinks at this point. We have barely had our drink for maybe 5 minutes when they kick us out of that room and into the very first room. By this point, I’m thinking what is going on. It’s about 4:30−5 p.m. on a Sunday after the baseball game just let out. We are now in the first room, with our drinks about 75% full and are told we have to leave cuz they are closed. Wait, what? First, why were we even allowed to get the second drink if they were closing and why is any bar near Yankee Stadium closing within an hour after the game being finished and on a Sunday afternoon. The whole thing was strange and so we left our drinks and left.

perfect place to come to before the game– its always our pre-game spot(never after so i dont know what it is like after the game) the bartenders have been there for years so they are pretty good at handling the crowd. and you can buy a hotdog from the vendor inside– while drinking your tall boy PBR– i mean does it get any better than that? if the front bar is too crowded keep going!!! going all the way back and around the bend– there is a HUGE room back there!

Roy’s Top 5 Things to Know: 1. Dive bar but pretty clean for one. Plenty of TVs to watch the game. They serve hot dogs and there they’ll hold your laptop for you just in case you foolishly bring one to the stadium. 2. Great prices, about half of the prices for drinks you would get at Billy’s. 3. There’s a Mickey D’s right next door and it’s open late. 4. Naturally across the street from Yankee Stadium(Hard Rock side). 5. They close early around 11pm/Midnight

Came in here after a Yankee game recently. The bar is pretty cool. The bar tenders are able to keep up with the bar adequately. The music was very good and not super loud but not too low either. Prices were good considering it is in the shadow of Yankee Stadium. Bouncer at the door checked ID and was nice. This is no 5 star place but great for after a game. Maybe I could have gone 4 stars… Either way this pace is a lot of fun for a baseball bar.

This place scares me. When I first walk in, my thought is, «oh God, everyone is so drunk! And a Yankees fan!» That’s followed by, «I’m too sober for this,» and finally, «Eh, how can you be in a bad mood with all these happy loud drunk white people?» The bar is HUGE — good luck meeting up with friends inside when it’s busy — and super loud. But it’s a fun place to come and get messed up before you head over to Yankee Stadium.

Ahh The Dugout, how many wonderful times have you and I crossed paths? Now lets be honest with one another; if the Yankees aren’t playing there’s really no way we are seeing each other. But on the day’s they are? Well there’s nowhere else I’d rather be pre-game(to pre-game). Let’s start with the basics; beer inside the new stadium is ungodly expensive(11 $-14 $ depending on what you order), and aint-nobody got time for that noise, so what are your options? Well you could do the classic«rail soda» i.e. booze in an Arizona bottle on the 4/D train, but this is a dangerous option as the NYPD frowns upon this(no idea why). Or you could find a cheap place downtown, and make the trek up to the Bronx already buzzed, but this too is dangerous, as you run the risk of looking like a douche hammered on the subway screaming«let’s go Yankees», SO not cool. So what’s a Yankee fan to do? The answer is pre-game festivities at The Dugout(in case you couldn’t have guessed). This place has you covered with three dollar 16oz Coors cans, and four dollar tall-boy PBRs, not too shabby. Be warned however, that you are not the only baseball fan who’s thought of this perfect option, and the place gets PACKED before games. I mean seriously crowded, like I can’t get out, oh god if there’s a fire I’m burning to death crowded. But hey, we do what we have to do right? Walking in you’ll find a nice, straight forward looking bar that, if it’s early enough, shouldn’t be too crowded(we’re talking 2 – 3 hours before first pitch). Be warned though, that this plain looking bar is a trap, the bar you’re looking for is in the back. There are actually three bars that make up The Dugout, the plain one in the front, a weird middle one that’s standing room only, and the large bar in the back that has seats. The big bar in the back also has the advantage of a second bartender, so they can serve more quickly(this point again becomes moot around an hour before the game as the place fills up). Again though, this back bar is by far the best of the three, and this is where you want to be. Coming here before first pitch has become a tradition for my friends and I over the past few seasons; super happy this place is around to facilitate starting our game day the proper way — sloppily.

This review is more than a review for the bar, which is huge and has the best atmosphere before a Yankees game. Cheap beers and a friendly staff. This is the only place I go before a Yankees game. But what I wanted to review was the owner. I lost my bag before a Yankee game and when I called the Dugout the owner, Harold, answered right away and told me my bag was there with all of my belongings inside. He was so kind, held onto my bag for a full day and brought it out to me when I came back down to the Bronx to get it. He told me that he was the one who had found it and wanted nothing in return other than my business. And that he will get. I love coming to the Dugout and will tell anyone and everyone I know that goes to a Yankee game to go there. Outstanding customer service and just an all around good guy.

Yankee Stadium, like every sports arena, overcharges for everything — you know, the whole«captive audience» thing. What’s a fan to do after checking out Macombs Dam Park and the little shops around the Stadium? Come over here and pre-game while the Yankees pre-game. Seriously, $ 3 pints of PBR. Even if you don’t like PBR, you can’t beat that deal.

Great spot for a few beers before going into Yankee Stadium and forking over a bundle for a $ 9 bud or $ 12 Stella. If you’re a fan of PBR this is the place to go. $ 3 for a pint can. Can’t go wrong. The inside is huge but not many seats. Not a big deal. Most folks are only staying a little while anyway. The«food» is nothing to speak of, basic franks, burgers and pretzels mostly. The place caters to real baseball fans who want a quick brew or 2. Although they allow kids I wouldn’t suggest bringing them. It can get loud and a bar full of drinking baseball fans is not a place for kids anyway. I like the place and would definitely recommend it over other bars in the area.

I sit in the bleachers, so this is the perfect location for me before a game. Beers are cheap, service is fast, and the waitresses/bartenders are nice. Lots of TVs and a few places to sit. When you walk in, it looks ridiculous packed, but just keep walking to the back… plenty of room. The bathrooms are lame, and the food doesn’t look so hot, but I’d never think to eat here. Like another reviewer said, I do not love that they allow kids in here with parents. But those are my only gripes… this is my home all season before claiming my spot in the bleachers :)
