super knowledgeable and flexible. I called 15 minutes before closing and he waited until i got there with my kids. I was looking for a germination station, he has some cool products, free seeds and he hooked me up with a cool grow light. I will be back soon to buy nourishment for the seedlings.

Love this place! The owner Shawn is super friendly and knows what he is talking about and can help you out with any questions you may have about any facet of organic growing in any sort of media. The store has anything you might possibly need from media, nutrients, soil additives, or just straight up growing advice. I will be going here from now on versus brew and grow for any of my growing needs.

This is a small neighborhood store that specializes in aquaponics, in Brookfield. Shawn, the owner is an expert on the growing of all things. There are examples in-store of how to grow foods and plants using this type of system.
Additional services include raised bed building, coming to your garden testing your soil and giving organic gardening advice. They have a selection of the best organic food and fertilizer. There is a product on-site (you have to see it to believe it) that is a self-sustainable food providing system. On the top are food bearing plants and on the bottom is an aquarium that grows TILAPIA! Yes, way!
For growing advice and how-to’s this is a great place! They also offer weekly classes on organic gardening. You must call to register. Thanks, Shawn for introducing me to a new way of growing food!

Great place to learn about sustainable gardening, and Shawn really knows it all. Stop in the see him (the shop is right off the metra stop in Brookfield) for some great ideas for the future of gardening.
He has set up a pretty neat filtration system for one of the beds that use fish to filtrate the water and feed the plants — definitely a cool way to garden!

Very cutting edge. Many different system options. The staff is personable, and informative. The principle idea of keeping fish and plants in a self sufficient system is the new «big» thing. If you are into gardening, organic veggies and fresh fish on your plate, this is a must check in. There is always a new cool project going on from week to week.
