We have eaten at Slims a few times now. For the most part we like their food. The wings are tasty but not what we are used to because they use the entire wing with what my sister would call including the hopper. The malts are really good. Some of the fried things are greasy. I had the reuben sandwich which was ok but i missed the thousand island dressing on it. The philly steak sandwich is good. They need to correct the menu board because the prices are not what are posted on their menu board.

The seasoning blend is sooooooo good! No one else seasons their chicken like slims. Well… Except for when you buy a jar of their special seasoning to season your chicken at home.

Heard about this place and had to make the trip when I came to Minnesota. We ordered the cheesesteak Sandwich, Cheese Burger, and Chicken Wings. All were beyond superb but what stood out the most was the seasoning they sprinkle on their chicken wings WOW! Just amazing and finger licking! Next time I’m in town I will definitely be visiting! Service was great they had table service. Must visit.

Very good food for the price. Good malts. Clean place. Friendly staff. Little more salt in burgers than i like. Gyro pita tends to fall apart. Still a returning customer here.

This was my first time going to the restaurant. I ordered the Sirloin Steak burger and it was delicious. Only thing that could of made this better is if they served a an ice cold beer. Food was quick. Would definitely go back!

Tried slim’s the first time today and I was really disappointed. We had the grilled chicken sandwich and the philly cheese steak. Both meat were chopped so thinly, it didn’t have any texture to it at all. We felt like we were eating mush!!! The peppers and onion on the philly was overdone and greasy. I don’t understand how this restaurant gets a almost 4 star rating. I would

Love their chicken wings. My favorite sauce is the sweet & sour. Their onion rings are really good too. As well as their malts, hamburgers, and gyros. My sister really likes their salads. Fun place, casual atmosphere.

Their food is inconsistent and always way too salty. I wish they still had pizza. They need to train their phone ordertakers better. They did fix a problem with our order once but we still had to drive back to do so.

I will never patronize«Slim’s» Again… That place is so so Petty and need a lesson in customer service! I’m just speaking on my experience… I had a problem with my food! Do you know that the restaurant manager had the nerve to give me the run around about 20 Dolars? I don’t won’t there food I’m turned off by there service and the manager is so unprofessional… I am not into arguing at all… However; The manager wanted to argue with me about food that the cooks made a mistake on. I can’t get my money back or the problem to be fixed? I gave them there food back! I don’t want anything to do with slim’s. After I was so poorly treated… I’m turned off. What happened to the customer is always right? This guy had the nerv to offer me food after an argument… Why? Why would I trust that? I’m not telling anyone to stop eating there however. If you have a problem with your food… I bet you will have the hardest time just trying to be satisfied with the service and the food. This manager knows nothing a about common courtesy. And he smelled really bad. Like lots or cigarettes. I couldn’t believe that Slim’s would hire him as a manager! This was the worst experience that I have had in a long time… Not to mention. I had to burn gas driving there and leaving with nothing. Not even my money back… They have givin me the run around about $ 20.00. If they would have taken care of the issue then I would have went back more often. I’m disappointed by the way that the situation was handled. I wasn’t able to be satisfied at all. I would recommend not eating there! The manager who works in the kitchen is unsanitary!

I have been here several times with my family. Can be a but pricey(around $ 25 for 3 hungry people) but the food will definitely fill you up! I personally am a picky eater, so I always order the chicken strip with cheese curds. The chicken strips are a solid 6⁄10 for me. The actual meat itself is definitely real and is flowing with juices, although because of that it is very greasy. The batter for them is extremely tasteless, and I am thinking of adding salt next time I go. Other than that the chicken strips are delicious! The cheese curds are absolutely splendid! As a huge cheese fanatic, I almost always order a side of cheese curds if available. Slim’s cheese curds taste fresh, and are fried perfectly. Again, hey are flowing with juices and are extremely greasy, so you’re going to need quite a few napkins. The cheese isn’t too strong, nor too bland. It almost tastes the exact same as the cheese curds you would get at the state fair. Overall, their food is fantastic. Quick overview: — Greasy, so you’ll be needing at least 10 napkins. — Chicken tastes real, looks real, and is real. — Chicken batter could have some seasonings to spice it up, but salt should be enough. — Cheese curds are amazing, and are 8 times better than the ones you can get at the Culver’s right across the street! — Runs a bit pricey(the chicken strips and cheese curds run at about $ 8) Chicken strips: 6⁄10 Cheese curds: 10⁄10 Overall, a solid 8⁄10! I would totally recommend this place to anyone!

Delicious food if you are into deep fried everything. The batter in the fries and cheese curds both include cinnamon which was a pleasant surprise. I had a gyro which is my favorite kind of food(Mediterranean) and though I asked for no tomatoes, there were tomatoes hiding under the quart of Caesar dressing. The staff over heard me mention there was tomatoes on the gyro when she brought the food to our table but I was all ready picking them off and I told her it was ok, it was too late; she yelled back at the Mexican cook who looked at ME like I had yelled at him and threw it in his face and told him to shove it! It was a real Seinfeld moment. Overall the food was good, the place was clean and staff was helpful and friendly!

This is not about the food — but rather the deceptive advertising. I had a Slim’s coupon for a ‘value’ cheeseburger at $ 2.99. I ordered it at the drive thru. When I got to the window they asked me for $ 3,60 — well I know $ 2.99 + tax is about $ 3.23. I was told it was 40 cents more for lettuce and tomato! The picture in the ad shows a cheeseburger with lettuce, tomato, and pickles. At $ 3.60 it’s really not a bargain. One could go across the street to Culvers and get a burger for a similar price, without a coupon.

First time here. Stopped in for an early lunch. Ordered the slim chicken fingers/fries, cheese curds and wings with BBQ sauce. Everything came very hot and was fresh. The cheese curds were the best, fried perfectly nice crispy outside. Didn’t care too much for the chicken fingers, neither did my son. Boyfriend had the wings, said they were very good, liked the touch of cinnamon. They need to work on a new batter for the chicken fingers, very bland. We must have come in as they opened. You would have expected it to be cleaner. Floor was sticky, so were the booth seats. If I had windex in my purse I would have washed the windows myself. They were filthy, inside for sure. I wouldn’t go out of my way to go back again, but it wasn’t bad.

My only complaint is the physical drive through lane. It takes a sharp turn to the right so it is tricky to navigate a big vehicle through and get close to the pickup window. Also you have to drive away from the main road after exiting then either whip an illegal U-turn or find another way to circle back. That being said, my wife and I have each tried several different menu items here over the past couple month and have not been disappointed in the least. This isn’t «fast-food» and the toppings all appear/taste very fresh & crisp. The price is reasonable and you get decent value. Everything appears clean and well kept. Staff has been polite and helpful when we had questions about the menu. We will definitely be back in the next month and I hope some of you are too as it has never felt«busy» when we’ve been there. Hang in there Slim’s you have a solid product and enjoyable experience.

I have gone to Slims a lot, since i go to the college near it, and the service is great, you get greeted right away and the workers are friendly. I have only tried the cheeseburger, it is my favorite, the burger is always fresh and juicy, even though i forget each time to tell them to put the ketchup on the top, idk why they put it on the bottom but still, its so good! Like picture planktons love for the krabby patty, thats my love for the cheeseburgers.

My deluxe cheesesteak was ok, not bad. I don’t understand the hype about the fries. They reminded me of curly fries from Arby’s or BK fries… not pieces of real potato, sliced and fried, but more like battered, wispy potato air. How could these be called«hand-cut»? I did not like the seasoning on the fries, either. It tasted like Chinese 5-spice powder to me. Just not that impressed.

I’ve said it before, and I’ll say it again. Brooklyn Center is a desolate wasteland for restaurants. Then, this local place pops up not too long ago. I’ve been hesitant to try it simply because of the point above. But, finally got around to it this weekend. First and foremost, the menu presentation sucks. There is no detail at all on what you’re getting. You order a sandwich — you have no idea what you’re getting with it. It could be served with dog shit or cat piss on it, you’d never know. Which leads to my next point for those saying to themselves«ask the person taking your order.» Yeah, you go ahead and try that. Rude, short, condescending and a flat out bitch that hated her job. Those aren’t my words, but, the girlfriend’s words. «Your order?» That’s how it all started. You can imagine how much fun this was going to be! I didn’t bother even asking what would come on the sandwich after listening to Ashley order her food. She ordered chicken strips and a cup for water, for what it’s worth. She just got a glare for asking for a cup for water(and considering they’re the cheap, small plastic kind you’d serve a small child with — clearly they have designated water cups) and never actually got a cup, as the glare turned to me. No ask of what I wanted or anything, just a glare from the screen. Everything inside told me to say fuck it and leave… but… no. Have to try it despite this snarling soul crusher trying to wreck the fantastic day. I throw in a grilled chicken sandwich, sweet tater fries, and a cup for water as well. Then, her first word my way… «Cheese?» Uhhh yes please? I look at Ashley dumbfounded, and just say«Swiss?» Face goes back to the screen and is pecked. Then I really piss her off by ordering more food in the way of cheese curds. Queue big sigh. Then the item is entered. Pay, get a number, and go sit down. Look how long this review is without even getting to the food. Yeah, don’t bother people. Seriously. Food… the chicken sandwich was a garbage dumpster of grease and ingredients(think Philly cheesesteak kind of ingredients). Chicken is essentially diced to hell, and smothered in grease, then thrown on to a bun. I literally couldn’t taste anything but onions, peppers, and grease. It was an abomination of a sandwich. For those that know me, or have seen what and how much I’ve ate — I threw away half of this sandwich. My stomach couldn’t handle the grease that was literally dripping out of this thing. Cheese curds were terrible and served with no dipping sauce. Flavorless all around, and the only thing you got was a bit of salt from the batter. Chicken strips were over battered and over fried. We actually left a full strip because neither of us wanted to try and choke down it down. The only somewhat decent thing was the sweet tater fries. I never thought I’d say this, but after putting myself through something like this… go to Culvers across the street. Far better service, better quality of food and just a better value for your money.

Amazing restaurant! I love the Malts from here and the chicken sandwich is to die for. What’s surprising is that their fries have a cinnamony taste to it which surprisingly tastes super yummy!

I really have no idea how this place has four stars on Unilocal. The burger was low quality and greasy. Thin fatty bacon. Fries were nothing special. I didn’t make it much more than halfway thru the burger but I think that was less to do with size or more to do with the fact that it just wasn’t worth finishing. This is a fast food joint, cheap and unsatisfying

Came because of the sign off the highway. The fries were awesome. Th burger was lacking in add ons and depth the party was enormous but the cheese was stuck to the bun top. My husband had the cheesesteak that was raved about on here. But even that was just ok. It was lacking meat. All in all it reminded us of five guys fries and culvers burgers. May come again but won’t have the same items
