Chill neighborhood spot with decent coffee and great Korean food, located in the old Sputnik burger joint, the décor and architecture are cool and interesting. plenty to look at !

i go to this place often despite overpriced food and a few servers that are awkward to talk to because its close to where i live and sometimes its bothering to go to koreatown in manhattan or flushing. foods are not bad but tuna kimbap is $ 9. way too expensive! I know it’s NYC but you can get cheaper and good kimbap in other places. they do not accept credit/debit under $ 15. so i started using eat24 for pickup so i dont have to pay over 15 plus tips haha

It took over an hour for delivery of their Kalbi and pork belly with extra lettuce, but at least they were both pretty solid.

Fire your delivery guy for god’s sake. Was just told by my wife the delivery man refuse to deliver the food to the apartment. We have a 2 month old baby girl and she can’t leave her sight and the delivery man still insisted that she come down and pick up her food. If you guys want to offer delivery then you guys should deliver! It’s so simple! And not ask your customers to come pick up their own food. What nonsense is this. I will warn the folks in my neighborhood to avoid ordering from your restaurant. And we’re a community of condos here so be prepared for a decline in business. You have lost my trust and support and I will patronize the new Korean joints on Vanderbilt.

YESSS… rejoice for there is FINALLY a Korean delivery option to my neighborhood. The yoo gae jang was spicy, delicious and on-point, and the duk boo kee was heavenly. The delivery was also a lot faster than the original estimate. A welcome addition to my food delivery staples!

I’ve only had a few things — dduk bokki, bibimbap, and kalguksu — and all delivery. So far, everything has been good. It’s a nice find in Brooklyn, where even decent Korean food is rare.

Ok,I love all the asian food and I lived in this neighbor,I walk in and I pick up food from this place for hundreds time. Honestly,I like their BiBibap a lot,its tasted different from any other korean restaurants. But last time me and my girlfriends orderd one and we both got pain of stomach after the meal. And the appetizers they served are worse and worse. I really hope they keep going good, cuz it is the only korean food in this area…

I am not Korean. I do not eat at a ton of Korean places. I’ve cooked Korean influenced dishes, but my chef basically invented that shit and I just lined it out. I have no idea what the fuck authentic means in terms of mid-level Korean eatery. Four stars because my meal was very tasty, not like wild and crazy tasty, but tasty. Four stars because the service was superb, the portions and presentation large and fun, and because if I had to guess what a fun, kinda goofy eatery in Korea where to look like, it would be a lot like this. The place was full of Koreans from Pratt, presumably here because they keep it real. The endless droning kpop was goddamn wonderful. Come here.

Restaurant part is great but a bit overcharged. Environment is great to study but wifi is REALLY slow… Not too many desserts to choose from at the café area…

Ordered delivery from 232 and was pleased. Awesome, and delivery was fast and courteous. Have to say, I majorly don’t understand all of the reviewers slamming this place for not taking credit cards. That’s extremely common all over NYC. Perhaps all these people just moved here?

Located in the laid back Clinton Hill neighborhood in Brooklyn, 232 is a very inviting space upon first glance. When I saw the ATM machine to the right, I had thought this place doubled as a multi-level lounge club when the kitchen closes for the evening. Unfortunately, 232 would prove be an overrated experience for my girlfriend, her good friend, and I. Service was decent initially when the waiter gave us a 1 liter carafe of water in a cute looking container and a small sampler of Banchan. The waiter was courteous and gave us plenty of time to decide before he put in the order. However, it was 93 degrees that day in NYC and I knew that small water container wasn’t going to last long for the three of us. While I didn’t want to be rude, refilling our water container didn’t happen until nearly half an hour later. Before waiting for the checks, the dehydration began to give me a nasty headache to the point where we had to go to a 7⁄11 in BK afterwards. I know that it’s New York and you tend to give more attention to those that want to purchase alcohol and up the ante on the dinner check, but there were only 3 tables being served in a largely empty basement dining area at the time. Nevertheless, my girlfriend ordered BiBimBap and I went with the Udon Noodle Soup. Portion sizes were decent and seasoned OK, yet there was a much greater emphasis on presentation than flavor execution. With the extended ticket time, there was more left to be desired. As other reviewers have mentioned, the CASHONLY no card creates a big inconvenience for customers(including locals and visitors). Attach a Squared app on an iPhone, establish a card minimum, but for heaven’s sake don’t make customers take the walk of shame up the stairs to the ATM with attached fees. Korean fare was decent for the price and the waiter was friendly(minus not refilling the water carafe on a super hot day), but this place would garner a lot more business potential(including a nightlife lounge potential with a great cocktail menu) if it would get rid of its CASHONLY policy. Until then, I’ll be hitting up other Korean places in NYC that take card.

I ordered Kim Chi Strew, love the soup and Kim chi, not too strong ~ the only problem is that tofu should cook longer to taste better :) Not a salad person, so don’t know about the free salad

The food is good… 1.The portions are so small vs what you are paying for. 2. The service is good and friendly 3. THEYDONOTTAKECREDITCARDS?! what restaurants don’t take credit cards? 4. The products they use are fresh. I won’t be returning until they do take credit cards. It’s an inconvenience to their customers and it tells me how cheap the owners are… and how they only care about lining their own pockets.

Originally gave this place two stars out of spite, but now I feel bad. Spent 70 on dinner and drinks for two, only to learn at the end of the meal that they’re cash only. Would probably give the food and service 4 stars, particularly as the Bushwick options for Korean fare are pretty limited(so much so that I walked about 2 miles to get there bc the 38 bus was apparently not running yesterday), but come on. If you have a full bar and serve sit-down food with mood lighting, you should pony up for a credit card machine. Will return the next time I’m carrying ~100 around on my person(probably never).

This café is way overpriced. Their staff is incompetent and the only reason I go is because I live across the street from them. Their food takes forever to come out and it is not very good. If you are a café and can’t even cut a bagel correctly perhaps you should reconsider your business.

Good Korean food, but not good enough to put up with lackluster service for. Service here is a joke; they’re not even trying. Not once did the waiter come by to check up on us, or refill our waters(fortunately the restaurant provides a pitcher). The waiter brought an appetizer to our table that we didn’t order; after he realized a few minutes later he just came back and took it away. No, it doesn’t work like that; you make a mistake like that and you own up to it. I thought that was a major faux pas on their part. And, get this, this place is cash only, but they don’t bother to tell you until you get the check. If I didn’t get my ATM fees reimbursed each month through Charles Schwab I’d be upset. Dive bars can get away with being cash only, but 232 shouldn’t. Now with the good. The chicken wings are really crunchy and well seasoned. The sauces add a lot of depth to the food. I loved the small platter at the start of the meal with kimchi and these crispy black beans(never had anything like them before).

Ordered tteokbokki; very spicy but delectable. Has a spicy but sweet taste. The rice cakes and fish cakes was chewy and good. The dish has some vegetables in it. The portion size was good. I plan to come back again!

Thought, «Hey, $ 12 for the hot stone bibimbop. That’s not bad. Ok, I’ll pay extra for the bulgogi since I love tender marinated rib eye. Let’s add some tofu to make it even better!» ERRRR! There was bulgogi in there? A few bland, tasteless clumps of beef with some small little cubes of tofu straight from a package was worth the $ 5 upcharge? I think not. On the upside: service was very courteous and the kimchee was nice and sour. It was so dark in this trendy hip joint that I could barely see the menu let alone my food. They were projecting music videos of half naked little girls on the big wall to the left and loud diners complaining about turning 25. I’m too old for this shit. The design was very very trendy so you can imagine my utter surprise when they said«CASHONLY, there’s an ATM upstairs». Really?! You’re telling me that with all that young hipster vibe goin’ on that you can’t splurge for a damn card reader? No. Thank. You. Ever. Again.
