They aren’t trying to be gourmet, so don’t even try and compare them to it. They are really great at what they do, and the pizza is always really yummy.

The pizza here is overly doughy, cheesy, and greasy. I might eat here purely for subsistence but I know I would not get any enjoyment out of the act. A single regular slice is very heavy and will leave you with a bloated feeling in your stomach. Probably due to the fact that one slice contains about a cup off oil. To top it off the employees are jerks. There is one younger nice guy but the rest act like it’s pulling teeth to hand you a slice of pizza. One time I asked to use the restroom after ordering and the guy slowly poured my drink, cut my slice, took my money and looked around the whole counter before handing me the key and muttered«Don’t take too long». It was so weird the guy next to me had a shocked look on his face. When I got out he was staring at me with a frown and loudly banging the dough. Disturbing…

Earlier this year when I was looking for a genuine, high quality pizza, Brooklyn Pizza II was the place for me. Since I was with a group of four, we decided to go with a whole pie. It was hot and fresh with just the right amount of sauce, cheese, and toppings. So, fast forward to this month, when Jessica E. and I are back in the same neighborhood and again craving some delicious New York pizza. Given the pizza deliciousness of last time, it’s a no brainer to come back here, right? Well, we should have used our brains. Not hungry enough to split a pie with just one other person, I got a slice of Hawaiian(ham and pineapple). Admittedly, at first glance, it looked a little bit stale in the glass window, but I figured that all pizza gets a little off looking when it’s been out of the oven for a bit and ordered it anyway. After it arrived, it was barely edible. Reheating it in the oven had sucked just about all the moisture out of the slice, so that the toppings had no flavor to them and the thick crust was like eating a hard piece of toast. Those of you who know me know that I never throw away pizza. In fact, when others leave crusts behind, I often finish theirs. But, on this visit to Brooklyn Pizza II, history was made when I threw away 2/3rds of the dry, bland slice. I may return again, but if I do, I’ll only get a whole pie to avoid the risk of stale, dried out pizza.

I’ve gotten pizza here before and never had any complaints. Like a few other folks have said, a lot of theboizza looks really old, like its been around for a few days. That being said I came in the other night and requested a spinach roll. Nothing crazy, right? I just knew it would be fresh because the guy was behind the counter literally chopping up spinach. As I waited, another patron was asking to wash his hands, as the bathroom was out of order. He asked like 5 times and I’m actually not sure if he ever got to wash his hands, which made me wonder… um…do any of these dudes wash their hands? Anyway, got the roll($ 5.50) and went home to .up. when I opened the bag, it was soaked with oil. When I bit into the roll I quickly realized this was made days ago. Like this was old. Old. Old. I’ve been spoiled by Mike’s, where they make the roll fresh for you. Not here my friend. It was so old and so much of itvwas hard I couldnt finish eating it. I was so upset because I had been craving a roll and this was such a disappointment. The one saving grace was that they had Frooties at the counter. If I was dying I’d maybe get a slice… but mothing else…

Brooklyn Pizza 2 is the spot. This is regular New York pizza from regular guys. Call any other place five minutes before they close and try ordering a large regular pie. It’s gonna be like that scene in American Psycho, where Patrick Bateman tries to get a «rez» at Dorsia. Now call Brooklyn Pizza 2 five minutes before they close, what do you get? How’s a perfectly medium rare, large cheese pizza with a goddamn chicken roll thrown in(on the house) sound to you? That’s what I thought. Unfortunately these guys won’t make you a prohibition-era cocktail in a teacup. And nobody here’s got a man-bun let alone stubble past a goatee, but what the hell did you come here for? Ambience? Aesthetic? Gimme a goddamn break. You won’t find your latest gentrified crush here, but you will get a helluva pizza from great people. UPDATE: I wrote that review drunk, and by God, I stand by every word of it.

Not from the area and really wanted to try an authentic slice. I got the Sicilian and was not disappointed! Super cheap, freshly made and had a perfect balance of cheese, sauce and dough. I wish I could have brought an entire pie back with me!

10 minutes to go pick up a $ 14 large cheese pizza? Heaven on lazy weekends. This is just a classic slice of hot and fresh NYC pizza.

I tried to like you, really I did. I ate here about once a week because it’s the closest spot for me to grab a quick slice near my job. However, your food is usually terrible and most of your staff is rude(except one nice guy). For the past 10 months I’ve been eating Sicilian slices because all the others look old and gross. Last week I got one that was pure dough. Though I was polite about asking for a different slice, all three staff members gave me a hard time about it. One guy even asked, «Is this your first time eating pizza?» No, just the first time eating DOUGH with sauce and cheese on it. To top it off, they charged an extra dollar for me to get a grandma’s slice instead. That also tasted nasty. With no time left on lunch, I ate it out of desperation. I will not be returning here. That day my co-workers told me they’ve stopped going too. They said it’s under a new owner who raised prices and they don’t think the pizza is good anymore.

My absolute FAVORITE greasy New York pizza. I usually stick to plain pepperoni or cheese, and have occasionally gotten a slice of the white pizza – other flavors are not always as good – but this place is best when you get a whole pie straight from the oven. Order by phone as you cross the bridge from Manhattan, ready to pick up by the time you get to Brooklyn. It’s a good thing for my health(and also probably for their prices) that they don’t deliver.

Great pizza, great price. Don’t expect them to reinvent the wheel with their pies but if your looking for a typical, yummy, gooey slice this is your place. The type of pizza that seems to have crack in the sauce. Can’t stop eating it until your bloated. Workers are real friendly. They never get salty when I ask for a split topping pizza(girlfriend is vegetarian) and the thing has to be slightly folded to fit in the box. Great value!

A serious Brooklyn neighborhood slice-factory. No delivery, so you’ve got to be local if you want a taste. And a taste is well worth having. The veggie pizza is topped to heaping, and has always pleased the crowd. The price of their large pies compared to the amount of food you get and the quality of what you receive makes Brooklyn Pizza II a fantastic value and a staple for the neighborhood. The service has always been prompt and polite, a full pie taking only 15 minutes for preparation. When picking up a takeout pie, they will always offer to put whatever spices you want on the pie and tie up the box with twine to create an easy carrying handle. With a place like this nearby, it is an absolute CRIME to order from a major chain. Save some money, get a better pie, and order from these guys. They’ll do ya right.
