We went here for New Years Eve, so I’m hoping our experience is not representative of an average night here. The manager(?) we dealt with when making the reservation and when we arrived was very pleasant and welcoming. Our table was not ready when we arrived but he made sure we had champagne and did his best to move the other diners along with their meal. This was a 3 course prix-fixe menu for the holiday and unfortunately, service was a complete disaster. When we ordered our appetizers, they were all out 2 out of the 4 choices(the snapper and the salmon-the other option left was just endive salad). As a replacement, they offered a cauliflower appetizer or sliced serrano ham. We were all pretty irritated with this as it sounded like their leftover kitchen items were being used to substitute 1⁄3 courses of a pricey meal. Cauliflower to replace snapper? Also– in a prix fixe situation with reservations, they should have done a way better job ordering their supplies. The entrees arrived with terrible timing. It took forever to get ALL of our courses. One of our party got his risotto and the rest of the entrees did not arrive for another 5 – 10 minutes. All of the entrees and desserts were all well cooked and delicious, which definitely helped. The short ribs were tender and comforting and the risotto perfectly cooked. The drinks were also an issue for us. The sangria was extremely bland. One of our dinner companions had malbec with dinner, which she enjoyed, and later ordered another at the bar. This one tasted completely different and had clearly gone bad as it was sour and undrinkable. The bartender gave some attitude when she asked for a replacement. Overall– very disappointed with the service and way the restaurant was run. We spent a lot of money here for a very poor experience that unfortunately overshadowed good food.

Been here twice, and had a wonderful experience both times. Great drinks that are NOT watered down. Selections on the menu will satisfy any palate. Food is very well prepared, fresh and makes you want to keep eating! Had a hard time making a decision of what to order. Will DEFINITELY be back!

INEDIBLE. It gets one star because you can’t go wrong with a dollar oyster, a nice bathroom and cozy environment. The rest was just plain gross.

Came here on a Wednesday night a few weeks ago and sat in the back — it was empty so we thought about going somewhere else but I’m glad we didn’t! The ambiance is really great here — perfect for a romantic, yet still casual date night ;) We were the only ones sitting in the back, so it was nice to get the corner booth, a bottle of wine and good food. We ordered the Garlic Shrimp A La Plancha, Beet Terrine and Pork Belly. The garlic shrimp was perfectly seared, and that oil… ah! Our Beet Terrine with truffled goat cheese came with some bread, and when you dipped that bread into the garlic oil from the shrimp 0___o soooo good! The waiter(who was awesome) brought us some more bread to finish up with our dishes. That truffled goat cheese was amazing, although the beets were sliced a bit thinner than I would have imagined/liked, it was still a unique and appetizing dish. The presentation was very nice — the layered sliced beets and goat cheese was drizzled with the«Pedro Ximenez dressing» and some toasted wheat bread on the side. The Pork Belly was good, although I hate eating meat fat and that’s what pork belly basically is haha. It came with some sauteed kale, a potato purée and some port wine reduction. I would definitely come back here — I need to try everything on the menu… cheers!

I loved this place! Everything was cooked to perfection. I had the croque madame for the first time and fell in lust with the creamy bechamel sauce that was drizzled all over the Black Forest ham sandwich. My cousin had poached eggs with merguez sausage which was delicious as well. I will definitely be hitting this place up on my next stay in Brooklyn.

Went here with my friend and closed out the bar to end our night together in Williamsburg. I got the lychee martini which is MYFAVORITE and it was delicious and he gave me extra lychee cause he knew how much i liked them.(how nice). Service was great! It was empty when we were there but it was late and we didn’t mind. Definitely would go back and try the food!

Enjoyed this place! However, big service issues; we were heading to a friend’s show so when our mains still weren’t out after 45 mins we got concerned. They told us they’d be right out but 10 mins later no dice. We just asked them to take the mains off our bill so we could go. The waitstaff were awesome though and very apologetic. The owner, however, was a total French douche and came to the table to tell us that we «had to understand, it’s a busy Saturday.» Yet the restaurant wasn’t even full. I can be an outspoken, social-justice-seeking loudmouth, so I challenged him that it was most certainly not normal to wait 45 mins for mains at a restaurant. The tapas we did have were awesome– goat cheese and beet cake spread on tasty bread; olive platter that also came with a great tapenade on bread; good classic garlicky shrimp; yummy fried cauliflower with a great sauce; ok croquetas. I got there early and really enjoyed sitting at the bar with a nice cocktail made by the friendly bartender. Will definitely try this place again as we loved the vibe, food, and staff. The pulpo main course caught my eye when I looked at the menu before arriving, so I must go back to try it!

Okay, so this place has one thing going for it: the ambience. My friend and I were walking along Grand Street recently and were so charmed by this cozy little candlelit bar with the live jazz breezing out the open doors that we had to step inside. Unfortunately, the service here is beyond terrible, even for NY. We were looking for a table in the back where it’s a little quieter when a waitress with long wavy dark hair, one side shaved, barked at us to sit in the front since they were closing that section down for the night. I didn’t have a problem with sitting elsewhere but I could immediately tell she had an attitude. All evening she was a problem. It took her forever to bring us our menus, and she rarely checked on our table despite the fact that it was a slow night. She was also very clearly drunk(she almost spilled the water on our friend) and spent most of the time we were there flirting with her male coworkers at the bar. This, while we were still waiting for our menus. One of the worst waitresses I’ve ever been served by; I’m kind of astounded she is able to hold a job. Our food was okay but not worth the price and the bad service.

I brought my friend here for her birthday dinner expecting to have delicious tapas and mouth watering entrees based on the 4 star reviews I read on Unilocal.Unfortunately, we were highly disappointed. We arrived in time for the happy hour and ordered two dozen oysters on the half shell for a dollar a piece and five dollar glasses of sangria. The oysters ended up being the best part of the meal and the sangria tasted like it had come from a cheap pre-made bottle of sangria that someone threw some fruit into. For appetizers we ordered two tapas at ten dollars a piece. We ordered the croquetas de jamón and garlic shrimp a la plancha. The description of the tapas on the menu sounded delicious, but unfortunately the reality was nothing like the description. The shrimp tasted like absolutely nothing. No taste at all. The croquetas were also very blah. Nothing amazing about either dish. Had we tasted the tapas before we ordered dinner we would’ve definitely walked out before wasting anymore time or money on ordering any more food at the restaurant, but unfortunately we ordered everything upfront. For dinner we ordered the steak bistrot and saumon à la plancha. We also ordered two glasses of wine from the happy hour special to drink with dinner. Again, the description of the entrees on the menu sounded great, but the reality was lackluster. Both entrees were mediocre and the wine tasted rancid. In the end, I was regretting the decision to take my friend to Cadaques for her birthday dinner and annoyed that I had spent so much on flavorless food. The bill came out to $ 117, not including the tip. I had to pay in cash because the restaurant only takes American Express or cash. Not only did the food leave a bad taste in my mouth, but so did the waitress when I paid the bill and she decided to keep the leftover money for her tip, without asking me if I needed change. She only ended up getting a few dollars more than 20% so I didn’t make a big deal about it, but how rude. Needless to say, I would never go to Cadaques again, nor would I ever recommend it to anyone, unless they’re going solely for the dollar oysters for happy hour.

Don’t love it– But I can say I hate it. The only reason this is getting 2 stars is for the food and Location– Other then that I would have given it a definite minus 2 stars. The food was amazing– They have a nice selection of the Oysters which are my favorite, The fried cauliflower had a great twist on it with the almond milk sauce. The Tuna tartar was delicious! The bad part– The service was beyond slow– It took over 10 mins to get regular water not minding the 15 mins we waited for drinks and where serviced the wrong ones at that. The server wasn’t pleasant very snippy– when I ask for something I got an eye roll. The bathroom was beyond disgusting and The price for the food and drink doesn’t even out to the service they offer. I don’t mind paying extra as long as I am paying for the quality of the food and service. Both have to be on the same page it can’t be split in the middle. I wouldn’t plan on going back any time soon. And I don’t recommend this place to anyone. But I could always revisit if they are open in one year.

Stumbled in on a random Sunday mid-afternoon for some drinks and bites at the bar. It was very inviting and friendly even though it hadn’t yet started to pick up. We were able to get in an order of a dozen $ 1 oysters right before the happy hour ended. We also ordered the pâté(very dry) and the mussels with frites(not bad!). I guess they have a «drink special» every night of the week and Sunday just happened to be «shot o’clock» where you do shots with the bartender! We had picklebacks with their house made pickle juice… pretty great! Note: amex or cash! but the $ 1 oysters were worth it!

Wandered in on a random Thursday because I heard the live jazz music. I was promptly greeted and lead to a romantic corner table where me and my SO settles in. Bruce our waiter was charming and professional, fast and precise. Basically the perfect waiter. I ordered a glass of the Malbec and so met with a lite peppery fruit ambrosia. We ordered the tuna tartar and it was so amazing it disappeared. Then we had the ribeye for 2. Let me tell you as a carnivore I eat a lot of meat but this was a triumph of culinary delight. There was no more delightful conversation between us only intense joy of the food. Then to top off our joy we had the Crème Brûlée. It tastes like whipped heaven. In summation this place is the bees knees!

Make sure you have a reservation! I treated a friend here for their bday. I heard great things about the tapas and they got amazing reviews on Unilocal. So I figured its a no brainer why not go here, I thought we would’ve been pleasantly surprised but it didn’t quite workout that way :(I’m a foodie so I don’t mind giving a place a try. The atmosphere is very dim and cozy(small) which i didn’t mind. They had a live«jazz» band playing in the front as soon as you walk in. They definitely weren’t playing jazz but it didn’t matter because We were seated in the back and definitely forgot they were even up there. I gave this place a 3 mainly bcuz i didn’t like how the musician came to our table after with his bucket to collect tips. Id rather them make an announcement, i thought that was rude. The staff was very friendly and helpful when it came time to order. For appetizers we had, grilled shrimp which were good but could’ve had a lil more kick to it, the calamari were fresh so i didn’t mind that they were lightly seasoned and the salad was pretty tasty. Entrée: I had the black pasta(squid ink) with lobster(it does turn your mouth and teeth black lol so if you’re on a date don’t order it.) It was good but could’ve had more flavor, like a garlic or hint of cheese or something. I cooked my leftovers in olive oil, garlic, butter and parmesan cheese and it taste amazing. The duck dish i thought was very tasty and cooked well. Drinks: Sangria was ok a lil watered down, the gin that was recommended was just weird tasting almost like something you should be cleaning with the mojito was ok. So im guessing this is a lunch time/tapas kind of place. If you’re planning to bring someone here, make sure they’re coming to ENJOY themselves and not be a food critic

Well this started off going really poorly, we waited a long time to have our order taken and our waiter who is also the manager, was kind of curt. But I think it was a cultural thing, and maybe he was a little bit overwhelmed and understaffed. They should totally promote the bus boy, Jack, he totally made our experience better. He brought us additional bread, put our second drink orders in and had a friendly disposition. Definitely would make a great waiter in an establishment that could Use additional help. This was a Friday night, they had a jazz band playing in the front, the candles on the tables, it was a romantic and rustic setting. Definitely appealing, a must do with the boyfriend. We ordered the tuna tartare, croquettas filled with ham and cheese and then the moules frites(mussels and fries) for tapas. Everything was DELICIOUS. They are small portions but again it’s tapas, for a party of 4 it was sufficient for an app. Every tapas is 10 dollars, which is pretty reasonable. The sauce for the mussels was absolutely top notch and I had to ask for additional bread to dip in because it was that good. For our entrée, I split the ploncho octopus dish. It came with potatoes, tomatoes and asparagus underneath the octopus. There was a delicious sauce accompanying it. It’s definitely a small dish, almost tapas sized so that was a little disappointing because it was so delicious! The rest of my party got the grilled hanger steak served with a boat load of fries, a side salad, and bernaise sauce… The bernaise was to DIEFOR. It was so tasty, we were dipping the French fries in it! Lastly, the salmon with mustard sauce over spinach and side of asparagus. The salmon was so well cooked and spinach so tasty. The entrees ranged from 19 – 23 dollars on average and were totally worth it. Because we waited a while for our drinks. The manager gave us a complimentary round of sparkling rose. We ordered Sangria, but they had to make a new batch so in the meantime we sipped on pink champagne :) For dessert the manager also sent over complimentary panna cotta and crème brûlée. Both were delicious but I am already partial to crème brûlée … So it was a pleasant surprise. Our average with two drinks each came out to 50 dollars a person including tip. That isn’t too expensive considering all that we had. Will be coming back :)

Stumbled across this place when trying to find a frozen yogurt place for my son. Checked the menu and they had homemade ice creama and a nice wine selection… sooooo SCORE for the both of us. First let me say the place is beautiful inside. I came in the afternoon so there wasn’t much action going on but that was just fine for me considering I was dinning with a 4yr old. When we were seated I don’t know what special I was offered but I jumped on it. 2 Tapas and a white wine for $ 20. I ordered the Pan con Tomate and grilled shrimp. Both were good. The portion of the pan con tomate was definitely too much for one person and I had to leave half of it. The shrimp portion was good even though these are not the jumbo shrimp I’m used to. The wine was also pretty decent considering it was the house Chardonnay, and it doesn’t hurt that it was a full glass. Overall, the flavors were great and I would love to go back to explore more of the menu.

Had New Year’s day drinks and snacks here at the bar. The theme is Catalonia(Spanish-French). The salmon carpaccio and potatoes bravas were excellent! The bartender was very friendly and i plan on returning to try their brunch b/c they had a good crowd there and a live 3 piece band in the corner. They provide live music several times/week.

We stopped in here for dessert and drinks — not dinner. So our experience here is limited. The only parts that were memorable were the bartender’s tattoos — which you’ll have to catch glances of as opposed to look at otherwise you will signal to her that you are a stalker perv — and that the churros tasted like french fries. That’s right the doughnuts tasted like potatoes. That just totally killed it as the only reason we were they in the first place was the churros. They must be using the same oil to fry up everything. And with sangria that was a bit meh we did not find much reason to think about coming back. There was private party going on in the restaurant so clearly some people like this place enough to subject their colleagues to french fried churros.

Must admit I had never heard of this place. I randomly found it after seeing a movie at the Williamsburg Cinema. We peeked in the door and it looked inviting. So, we sat and proceeded to be impressed. Service was a tiny bit slow as the waiter seemed to have gotten slammed. But, he was very polite about it and tried to get to us as often as possible. Regardless, the food came out very quickly. The small plates we tried were amazing! We had the beet terrine and asparagus. The beets were infused into a fois gras shaped goat cheese. It seemed to be wrapped in a bit of red bell pepper and served with bread. It was velvety smooth and rich cold dish. Highly recommended to try. The asparagus was covered in a large dollop of comte cheese and almonds(they call it a «cheese cloud»). It was creamy, herb-y and fabulous. We used bread to scrape the plate totally clean. I normally never get chicken at restaurants, but something was telling me to try it. The chicken came with mashed potatoes, mushrooms, carrots and brussels sprouts, arranged in neat rows on the plate. It was a great balance of meat and sides and the portion size was large. Enough for lunch the next day. The flavors were pretty simple but good. My dinner mate had the pork belly which came with a delicious wine sauce and kale. Next time I go to a movie, I will be sure to come back and try more of the tapas. It seems that they are not as popular(yet) as many of the restaurants within walking distance, so it might be a good place to get a last minute table.
