Crunchy and stale are not the same thing and yes customers can tell the difference. Shame on you for serving stale rolls. The Catskill chicken salad was actually very good and it was ruined by the stale bread.

This is an decent bagel spot BUT prices are never consistent.
Pros:
Bagels are fresh
Smoothies are good (depending who makes it)
Eggs are fluffy and taste pretty decent
The workers are friendly, besides the owner.
Cons:
The prices are very inconsistent. Don’t be surprised if you pay 3.50 for a sandwich and on the next day you pay 5 $. I’ve tried to ask for the menu and the cashier told me that they don’t have one. Hmmmmm to me that sounds like a business who is shady, depending on the day you pay more for your food.
On one particular Saturday (5÷28÷16) to be exact, I came in for my morning usual. The owner charged be 5 bucks for an BLT ! I am not cheap but that is definitely a little bit on the high side for 3 pieces of bacon and Lettie and tomatoes. I asked the owner why it was 5 bucks especially since just a few days ago it was 3.50. She told me food is expensive now so prices change.
I believe that it is ridiculous that a shop can just change there prices so quickly when ever the owner feels like it .
The owner, or who ever the old lady with the black hair is, she is horrible. When she’s in the shop she is not cautious about who is around her, you will get pushed, just so that her rows of apple juice is perfect.
They don’t answer there phones all the time. It’s just better to walk in there.

Overpriced for no reason and ridiculous delivery charge especially if you live walking distance from the restaurant. It’s best to order here if grub hub or seamless provides you with a coupon.

The coffee is fresh and delicious! Also the crumb cake is so good! I had to get it while I’m visiting Brooklyn.

I’m new to the neighborhood and just had an amazing lunch delivered from here! I suspect this will be my new go to spot for bagels.

I don’t know what other Unilocalers are talking about because the food here is off the heezy fo cheesy — with emphases on the cheesy part.
I got a egg n cheese on a toasted everything wheat bagel and it was «lick the plate good». It was lick the melted cheese good. First the bagel was not sense but rather light and airy — so when you bite into it, your not fighting to pull it apart and it’s easy to chew. It’s nice to take a bite of a bagel sandwich and not have to chew with my mouth open or need to use the jaws of life to sink into the bagel — not here! Bagel is perfection.
Also the servers were nice and very helpful. Good service and good food goes far in my book. I’m definitely going to come back again. My new bagel spot.

The bagels and bread here are delicious! I usually find the other food to be pretty disappointing, and I agree with previous reviewers that the ordering system is confusing and the cashier is often rude. I recommend ordering a dozen bagels to take home – I’d give that experience 4 or 5 stars!

Came here on a Saturday morning and got the lox on an everything bagel. It was very good (either that or I was really hungry). I would definitely come back to grab an on the run breakfast.
My only issue with this restaurant is that the ordering process is confusing. There’s no proper signage to direct customers on where to place orders, so if it’s your first time coming here you’ll be a little frazzled.

This place is amaze-​balls. Not only are their bagels delicious, the owner is super engaging and committed to her community. Angela and her family have been in the bagel business for generations… and it shows. This spot is super family friendly but is beloved by EVERYONE in the neighborhood. You’ll often find police offers, sanitation workers, and local business owners munching on their lunches and connecting with each other during their breaks. So grateful to have this in the hood.

This is a mediocre place — but I still get deliveries because there aren’t other breakfast places to order from. Sometimes the food comes cold but the soup is always good. The last time I ordered they forgot my coffee. When I called to see if they could bring me one I heard a lady in the background say, «well, she didn’t say how she wanted it.» They said they would send out another on and two hours later I called back and the woman who answered asked me if I still wanted the coffee!!! I said yes and I’m still waiting…

I really wanted to like this place, based on how nice it looks from the outside. But looks can be deceiving.
The first problem at Catskill Bagels Co. is the stupid system they have set up for ordering. You order in one place, and then you have to repeat your order to the woman at the cash register. Not a big deal if you ordered one bagel, but if you had a lot of stuff it can be a serious pain to remember it all. Here’s a novel idea: have the people taking orders write it down and then hand that off to the cashier. Or have the person who took the order ring you up. It would certainly cut down on the amount of chaos when things get busy.
I ordered two bagels and asked that they both be toasted. Neither of them were. If they can’t get the simple order of toasting a bagel, I wonder how well they’d do if I were to order something complicated.
And the biggest reason I won’t be returning to Catskill Bagel Co. is the cashier, who also must be the boss of the place. I think her name is Angela. I don’t know if she’s just hell-​bent on getting customers through as quickly as possible, but if so it comes off as rude. After I relayed my order, she said, «11.50» As I opened my wallet and looked for the right bills, it apparently wasn’t fast enough for her because she curtly repeated, «ELEVEN FIFTY,» to which I said, «Yeah I know, I’m working on it.» This place would seriously benefit by putting this woman in a back room where she would not interact with their customers.
The only reason I might come back to Catskill is for a dessert or muffin — something they can just hand me and not screw up the order. Although with Angela at the counter, I might never return.

The quality of the food is excellent, nice puffy bagels and I’ve never had a dry omelette. The bacon is crisp and meaty and their counter people are kind and attentive. The product itself is superb.
They have a loyal customer base of friendly folks both blue collar and business with a charming rustic atmosphere that is altogether pleasant and kind.
Which is a shame, because Catskill is a managerial shitshow.
Seriously, if P. T Barnum comes to town don’t bother, just hop over here for the breakfast rush to see a real circus.
Likely, they just need an operations manager to come and streamline things. One or two more line cooks and a few items off the menu and maybe a dedicated catering/​deliveries manager.
I’ve just never waited longer than 15 minutes for a simple breakfast sandwich, which is a gripe, I realize, but this place could be more than GOOD and possibly GREAT, hell even SUPERIOR if they just get their act together.

This is my favorite place in my neighborhood. I am here at least once a weekend. The iced coffee is delicious, the bagels are perfect, and the service is no bullshit. What more do you need in a bagel store?
I love you, Catskill Bagel. Do not change a thing.

The owner is a «B» how do you expect your business to improve when your attitude stink and you treat customers as if you give them free food?

I love this place — it is my go to spot for breakfast in the neighborhood. It isn’t gourmet, but I don’t really want that when I’m a little hung over. I always get an everything Bagel with cream cheese, lox, lettuce, tomato, and capers with large coffee. It never fails to make my tummy and spirit happy.
The staff if nice and gets the job done — this is a neighborhood bagel spot, not a yuppy frou frou establishment — so if you are doing an anthropological study of the Brooklyn natives as you get your PhD in your own mustache, they probably won’t be that nice to you. Because you are an a*hole.

Fresh bagels, well made. Good for breakfast but their lunch sandwiches leave something to be desired.
Avoid their delivery. They take forever and the food is always cold and soggy. Just put some sweatpants on, hide your hair in a cap, and trudge down in person. I know you’re a hot mess, but the only thing worse than a hangover is a soggy cold hangover curative bagel sammy.

Add salmon capers and cream cheese. I prefer this to murrays in the city. Rarely do bagels but when I do this is the spot

Food is ok. My gripe is that I was over charged twice ! Not sure if I will go back. but if I do, I will order from seamless to ensure I am not cheated out of hard earned $.
Then I ordered of seamless and took them 2 hours to bring the food! Please don’t order from here.

They’re good. And they’re quick. You’ll be in and out and on your way.
The bagels are actually pretty good. I’ve had better, but for the price and speed these guys are getting 4 stars out of me.

Terrible food. Just got a delivery via Seamless and I will not be ordering from them again. The order took forever and arrived cold. The coffee had no milk or sugar and none were included in the bag. I ordered lox with eggs for $ 7.50 and was appalled by the size of the portion and the lack of toast! Terrible!
