This is my second home! I swear I eat here more than any place else. The food is so good! I love the rice. I always get a steak burrito with jalapeños and hot oil.

Love this place! The food is always great and is authentic. The owner, Jenny always treats us like family. When you go, don’t miss the home made iced tea and the chicken burritos!

Been here twice. Has the guacamole chunky both times made fresh to order. Very fresh & not greasy .So far so good. Had the beef, fish, chicken & mushroom tacos (crunchy & soft). Excellent so far. Cozy local spot. Clean and cute inspirational notes on walls to calm the soul & feed the appetite.

Words can’t really explain how much I love this place, but I’ll try. The owner is very nice and the food is great!!! The warmth from the owner keeps me coming back as well as the amazing food. I always go for great customer service. Thank you Jenny for being a beautiful person and your chef is amazing. 10 stars if I could.

This place has a MASSIVE chicken burrito that everyone needs to try-​you will not be disappointed. Some people may complain that the meat is somewhat dry, but that can easily be fixed with some guac, habanero sauce or sour cream. Their homemade iced tea is also great, along with their horchata.

I love this place, they have the best iced tea in Brooklyn. I love the ambiance, its so peaceful. You also get free chips and salsa when you dine in

I love this place. I come here all the time, and I really don’t understand why they don’t have a higher overall rating. The owner is very friendly, and the food, while admittedly not super authentic, is consistently delicious, and a great value for the price.
I recommend the Chicken Enchiladas and the home made iced tea.
Sometimes I wish they served alcohol, but my wallet and liver are both glad that they don’t.

I love everything about this place from the food, to the atmosphere to the owner Jenny. I’ve been a loyal customer of Chiquita’s for 5 years after finding this place on Unilocal and giving it a try. the food is always delicious and the iced tea makes your taste buds explode. the guacamole is to die for and so are the fish enchiladas.

The worst Mexican food ever. The server took my order twice and messed it all up. I wasn’t sure what they gave me to eat stay away eat real Mexican food not this knock Asian Mexican food bad news to bay ridge

Overpriced but the steak enchilada is wonderful! Halal too! My go to for Mexican food.

Food was great and the owner was super friendly, I suggest you try the homemade iced tea it’s DELICIOUS

I’ve been avoiding this place for a while. Finally got the courage to try iy. Mediocre food. Not as bad as I thought.

The owner was really sweet but the food was repulsive.
My date got a chicken taco and I got chicken enchiladas. We were given complimentary chips and salsa, which tasted fine but definitely were store bought.
The chicken in both dishes had to be at least three or four days old. It was brown and just gross. The cheese was orange, like glowing neon orange. The rice and beans were definitely microwaved. They were crunchy and the rice was literally in the shape of the container it was sitting in. The guacamole was a weird fluffy paste.
Nothing was seasoned.
Go to tacos el bronco in sunset park, it’s actually authentic Mexican food.

Don’t bother, goto Panchos aka Cozscals in Bay Ridge instead.
I like the décor but it’s so bright, no music (awkward silences) and NO ALCOHOL. Wtf. Can’t have Mexican without a margarita or a beer. They also don’t sell pork (?)
The owners have their children hanging out running around on a messy table.
Food is bland. More like tex mex not Mexican cuisine. Don’t come here looking for authenticity or a nice spot to eat.
GRATUITY IS INCLUDED FOR EVERYONE. EVEN IF YOU ARE ONE PERSON.
Owners/​workers are nice but it’s very deceiving and disappointing.

I know there are a lot of mixed reviews about this place but I’m a fan! I’ve only ever had delivery, which is always timely. Unfortunately, I can’t comment on the atmosphere or in house service but what I can say is that I’ve never been disappointed by the food. I’m not much of a steak lover but I was feeling it one night and tried the steak burrito. Let me tell you… whenever I think about getting a burrito in the neighborhood I instantly want this one. If you can point me in the direction of a relatively inexpensive burrito that is big enough to feed me for two meals and not give me heartburn then I’ll give you a long distance Internet hug.
With that said, the guacamole nachos are pretty delish too. All you need is a cold beer and a good series on Netflix and you’ve got a perfect night at home. Enjoy!

Always passed by this place never went in until today. I came here with a friend for an early dinner. I also noticed on my Unilocal app that there was a check in deal of a free beverage. I showed the waitress and she said that it’s fake someone just put that there. So water please& thank you. lol
Anyways I ordered a steak fajita and a hard shell bean taco. To start there was a petite basket of chips and bland salsa. It wasn’t too packed so our food came out in less the 15 minutes. Steak fajita ($ 3.50) was extremely messy as in juice wise… too watery.
Bean taco ($ 2.50) was really bland. Basically food was mehh but for the price, I guess it’ll do.
As other reviewers said the music does not match the setting. Walked in and that flute from Kill Bill was all that was playing for 25 minutes. Then some waterfall stuff. Just wish it was more upbeat lol.
This place is alright. Prices are good for their okay food.
Pretty sure if you’re low on cash and you got a good group of friends this is a place to consider.

Okay, so it really isn’t authentic Mexican. Come on Unilocalers, it’s run by a Chinese lady who may never even have set foot on Mexico. Or maybe she has, but it still isn’t authentic Mexican. But what this charming place that I found via my trusty Unilocal app has is super friendly, caring service, and tasty food in generous portions. I actually wanted to order three fajitas and instead on encouraging me to order more for profits, the owner dissuaded me saying two was enough. And enough it was, to discourage me from my original plan of snacking on Mexican and then eating Szechuan (okay, okay, so I got a big appetite from being at the beach with only watermelon to eat!!)
The two fajitas I ordered has 6 inch tortillas, and were jam packed with filling. My shrimp fajita had five shrimp, more than I get when I get when I get Chinese lunch takeout sometimes, and was stuffed with plenty of onions and peppers. The veggies are not grilled however, and I think would have tasted better and been less watery had they been roasted or grilled. Same with the mushroom fajita – the veggies in this made the whole fajita too watery. I would stick to the shrimp. The very nice owner asked if I wanted guacamole with my fajita, suggesting that it was good for my skin. Beauty advice aside, I don’t like cooked guacamole with my hot food. Note that cheese and guacamole carry a surcharge.
So I was munching away when I noticed the strange music, Amazing Grace. Was I in a church? As I listened I realized that it was definitely inspirational. Then I noticed the plaques amidst the sombreros and serapes decorating the place. Not only do they want your belly to feel good, they want your spirit to be healed also. I almost got worried with all the messages of love and wondered if they were former refugees from an oppressive régime; maybe they were just so grateful for what they had. As I cleaned my plate I realized, you have to love a place like this, kitschy but genuine.
Tip: Unilocal has a check in offer for a free homemade tea. The tea is amazing!!! Tastes a little like jasmine with peach flavoring.

Came here a couple of times. I can’t speak for their steak tacos, but their shrimp n mushroom fajitas are amazing. Esp when coupled with their house hot oil. U gotta make sure u ask for the chiquitita hot sauce. Absolutely amazing. Also had the fried chicken strips which were nicely battered (not too much) freshly fried n crisp. All it’s missing is a side sauce. Chips were OK nothing spectacular. Good service and décor.

I’m not from this area, so this is a one-​time review. But as a recovering carnivore who is attempting to prolong his tenure on this dull sphere by eating more vegetables, I must say that the mushroom and spinach tacos here were very tasty. Especially with the salsa from their tortilla chips, which were also good and not too greasy. I had 2 spinach, 2 mushroom and 1 chili con carne soft taco, and the vegetables were bright and colorful.
We also watched some of the World Cup as we ate.

Awesome place to get a quick, good quality Mexican meal for a cheap price. A little restaurant with limited seating, but a good restaurant to sit down and enjoy your meal with a friend.
First off this place does not serve any pork products or that’s what says on the window. It is plus for anyone who does not like pork or can’t eat pork.
Before we made our order, our waitress gave some complementary chips and salsa. Yayy!!!
I ordered 2 soft tacos and one enchiladas. I got the 1 Mushroom Soft Taco and 1 Spinach Soft Taco, along with a Chicken Enchiladas.
The Mushroom Soft Taco was good. The mushrooms were sauteed just right and moist. The lettuce, tomatoes, cheese, and mushrooms all went well together. A good quality taco.
The Spinach Taco was not bad either. The spinach was sauteed as well. The spinach taco was also mixed with lettuce, tomatoes, and cheese. Not a bad combination, it just tasted okay. I think should have added some hot sauce to make it taste a little better.
The Chicken Enchiladas were very good. Served with Mexican Rice, Beans, Salsa, and Guacamole. Chicken Enchiladas were very tender, juicy, and just the right amount of cheese. A very good Chicken Enchiladas. I enjoyed the Mexican Rice as well. Just a well cooked dish.
I ordered all of that and I barely broke the bank. You certainly can’t beat that.
