I have not been here for food, only the bar scene on a few Friday nights around midnight. This place has a lot of potential with a roomy dance space in the back but the DJ has never been that great. The bartender on a Friday night is super nice. They also have decent beers on tap, but don’t expect some fancy craft beers. Its your basic bay ridge bar with some dancing, and its never been too crowded.

Went here for Sunday brunch. The service was okay, we sat by the tables near the bar. The bartender was managing that area, and seemed irritated that we chose to sit at a table instead of at the bar. The food was mediocre. I ordered huevos rancheros. It came in a sauce with olives. I thought that was bizarre. My Bloody Mary was vodka and tomato juice, no seasonings or anything.
I’ve been to trace plenty of other times for drinks at night, and had a great time. I think I’ll stick to that.

Very good food and drinks! Service is always good. All of the appetizers are very good, especially their guac. Accidently left my credit card and ID while i was running a tab. We’re nice enough to mail it back to me immediatly. Thank you! Late night on weekends tables are cleared and a DJ comes.

This place is great if you are going to go for drinks, but the food is always a hit or miss with me. You really have to know what to order. They make amazing Mac and cheese, and their burgers are yummy, but I have not liked any of the Mexican food I’ve ordered from here. The sangaritas are to die for, and the place has a cute look to it. Trace also turns into a club at night, but with mostly house and old school sing along music, it isn’t my favorite place.

During Super Ball or the World Cup its a nice place for a quick bite to eat and sangria.

Service wasn’t great asked 4 times the same waitress for the chips and dip. Waitress forgot our orders a couple times. But the Margarita was amazing. Defitnely recommend it. The buffalo wings were okay, better at kettle black. They did accommodate our party of over 15 fast.

My daughter went to Trace last night to celebrate her birthday with 3 friends. Every single one of them woke up vomiting. They ate the fajitas. Some are sicker than others. Either bad food or bad hygiene. Avoid this place unless you want to spend the rest of the night with diarrhea and vomiting.

Nice place with delicious wings. The bartenders are friendly and attentive. I enjoy coming here. If your drink of choice requires fountain soda– it can taste a bit watery, but this might’ve been only on the night I was here as everything else was great.

I had my Christmas party here. It was the best decision ever. It was a recommendation from someone who’s been at this establishment before. So I decided to try it out. I picked up evening menu. All their menus are available online. Its a Mexican Mexican gourmet style eatery. Unlimited drinks for about three hours was part of our package. These drinks were high quality. They were not watered down. And they were so delicious. The restaurant is not the typical a hole in the wall taco Mex place. It’s a little more high scale. This establishment is also ready to rock and roll. If you look up in the ceiling, you will see the the DJ lights and the sound system ready to pump all the fun into the night. Depending on how busy the back room is, will determine what time the party will get started. The night we had set up our Christmas event the party really started at 11 p.m. Waiters and staff put the tables/​chairs to the side and opened it up to become a dance floor. DJ started playing its music and slowly the crowd lured in. The food is really good. The guacamole is fresh and scrumptious. The sauce was a little watery but it was edible. My favorite part of this place was actually coordinating the event with the manager via email. Most of the time you have to do face to face interaction with management in order to set something up, but this establishment made it so easy. Management was on point with me at all times. The gathering was a little shorter than expected, but we all had a great time and we wish we could do the stuff together more often. I will keep this place in mind for any event that I want to hold because the transaction between client and management was awesome. The food was awesome. The place is beautiful. You can’t go wrong.

A was hesitant to try this place with me since the ratings aren’t so great but after our experience here, we will definitely be coming back. We came early around 5PM on Friday night and there were a few people at the bar and none at the tables. We grabbed the closest one and were brought fresh chips with 3 kinds of salsa. We then ordered the steak, chili verde pork, and fish tacos (3 tacos come with rice and beans and we were able to choose different ones) as well as chipotle glazed wings, and guacamole. After realizing happy hour means 50% off anything from the bar, I also added a glass of sangria. All of the food was absolutely delicious! A thought the steak taco was too salty, but that’s something I love so that was my very favorite taco. The chipotle wings are delicious and we would go back just for that. The only thing we didn’t like much was the fish taco which was too meaty and bland so we would skip it next time and try the chicken instead. The steak and pork were served with two deilcious corn tortillas, while the fish came with a flour one. What also made our experience so great was the super nice waiter and server who was very efficient and friendly. The décor here is also really nice and if it weren’t for the worn-​out chairs, I would have thought everything was really new because it’s so modern in there.

Weekend brunch is not only delicious but also a great deal! The frozen peach and frozen pomegranate margaritas are perfectly delightful
For food, I LOVE the nacho crusted chicken sandwich (sometimes I order it without the bread) it’s yummy. There are so many good choices on the menu. You can’t go wrong. Enjoy!

Was at Trace on a Friday night. I LOVE guacamole and i’ve tried it at many places and I have to say that the guacamole at Trace is the real deal. You must order it when you go there. The mac and cheese with bacon is another one of my favorites there. I definitely recommend to get those two dishes. Pretty much all the food is good there. Sitting at the high-​tops by the bar does get a little annoying and crowded.

Ordered: Guacamole and Fajitas platter
Pros – The guacamole was very fresh and the chips were piping hot.
Cons – The restaurant was clearly understaffed. We had to ask several times for water refills. My friend’s tacos came out cold (although they gladly remade them). The rice had a burnt flavor to it as well.

So, the pulled pork tacos were adequate, but the desert brownie I ordered very obviously came from a box. Like some genuine Betty Crocker nonsense, and it was overcooked. I won’t lie and say I’m above eating instant brownies, but you DO NOT serve them at a restaurant if you want people to ever come back.

I came here for a happy hour. Good service. The bartender is very busy yet attentive and friendly. Prices are unbelievable. Great place.

The blonde bartender is nasty. I politely asked for a corona and she screamed back at me «If you’re gunna be a dick, you better tip» and then overcharged me 1 $ over for it.
Im gunna pay 6 $ for a corona instead of the already overpriced 5 $? Why, cause you opened it?

For single woman reading: although beauty is in the eye of the beholder I must say any bar can be a lucky charm. It is up to your energy, attitude, and capacity to believe that meeting a great guy can happen at a bar. Anyway, lol, I met my finance here 4 years ago, we had a blast, I had him from hello and I also had good times with girlfriends during my single days here. There are jerks that come here but the drinks aren’t bad and
Music is decent. I’m sure with the right energy you’ll have a good time here even if it means making fun of the Staten Island barbie and kens. Bottoms up!

I had a great experience at Trace! We had a very funny server who was on point.
The food was delicious and the frozen drinks were yummy!

The place is nice. I spent a few hours there enjoy a few drinks and chips. Their avocado is amazing! The kitchen did close early. Or it was late (nights a little blurry) which means the drinks were good! Didn’t try their food menu, maybe another time. I was happy with their setup and the crowd was easier then other places. You can surely find a few good friends if you stay long enough! Happy Unilocaling!

Truly a good American Mexican joint. Amazing guacamole. The best I have ever had, as it is all freshly made per order. Great drinks. Steve holds down the bar and makes a slammin margarita. Stays open late and has dancing after 11. A great place for bay ridge partying/​bar hopping. Had my college graduation party here and it was a blast.

Mediocre at absolute best. Ordered a frozen peach margarita. Generally made in a blender. With real fruit. Right? Not here. Made from liquid in a frozen drink machine. Like the kind at the deli. Yuck!
Chicken fingers tasted like frozen McDonald’s chicken nuggets. Disgusting. We didn’t even finish them.
Yuca fries were ordered «extra crispy» but came extra squishy and over salted.
Guacamole was flat with on, y 2 flavored: spicy and avocado. No lime. No garlic. No onion. No tomato.
I don’t understand all the 5 star ratings. It wasn’t all that.
We won’t be back.

I came here early Monday evening for a couple of drinks with a few friends. Trace has a $ 3 happy hour on Monday which is great and you can’t beat it.
The bartenders were really nice, and was quick to refill our drinks. The place is such a difference between the being there during the day and being there on a Saturday night.
I’d definitely go back for Monday happy hour again!

So… We came here for lunch and I ordered the lunch special. Am actually pretty impressed… Came here thinking it wasn’t gonna be good and the deal was great. They brought out chips n salsa which was awesome to start.
I order a chopped salad– very yummy
Nacho crusted chix sandwich was very good
Flan and churros were shared. Flan good but churros mediocre.
All in all the deal was $ 15 + Tax n Tip came to roughly $ 20. Had leftovers. Decent portions. Would come back.
Service was OK.

I came on a Friday night in the mood to dance and drink, and I figured trace would be the best option since its in the heart of bayridge
pro’s:
we were greeted by a very friendly coat check employee, it costs 3 dollars
afterwards we went straight to the bar which was packed, I ordered a whiskey sour, and it was on-​par, and it was only 9 dollars which is a bang for your buck, let me tell you it was strong too, after two I was buzzed
the music is awesome, reminds me of my high school years, old house hits to new rap songs, they even through some biggie in there and journey too, I felt this was great because there is an even mix of older people who probably listened to free style house and younger people in their 20’s, so everyone was happy, you can also request a song if youd like
the service is great, no spilled drinks on the floor or cups everywhere, the waiters are very friendly
the bathroom was ridiculously clean, I was so surprised
there were no creepy guys lurking over my shoulder, big plus
the place itself is very pretty, the front of the place is the bar and the back is the dancefloor, and tables are there too before the dancefloor is open so they have food here too
cons:
the girls here are probably locals in bay ridge, so snobby and catty, I cant even count how many dirty looks that me and my friend got, they all look at you up and down and see what guys your talking to, who needs that drama
the dancefloor is way too small for the vicinity, I can only imagine how crowded it becomes on a Saturday
there is no bottle service, no promoters either, just drinks up at the bar
security here is isn’t great, as soon as we left at 1:30 three cops stopped by about to raid the place with a large fight right outside, the guards cared more about pressing you for ID over anything else.
there is no dress code here, people came in with uggs and converses, I felt overdressed in this place
would I come back here? as long as these girls don’t piss me off, I will come back for more!

Went here for both day time and nightlife.
Day time:
I went for happy hour, and I had the guac with chips. I love it, it taste great. The drink deal to me is definitely worth it. Unfortunately if my memory serves me well, happy hour ends pretty early around 7pm, and starts at like 5pm. I can never really tell what time is happy hour. But I also can’t review the food dishes since I was more than happy with their nachos and guac (with three different sauces) deal.
Night time:
It’s a pretty good place actually. It has the front area and back area cleared of all its tables and a DJ comes in and plays all night. It’s been packed every time i’ve been there and the music is pretty good. The music is a pretty good mix of what’s out right now, but I also had a DJ once play a bunch of old R&B hits which caught me be surprise (Like Everyone Falls In Love Sometimes by Tanto Metro and Devonte, and even some Spanish music — which always makes my little heart smile).
I think their drink deals are not good at this point though, and there is only one bar so you can imagine how much of a hassle it is to get a drink. It was a great experience nonetheless.

Nice place to spend one of the evening. Warm and romantic atmosphere. Cute candles in the tables, soft lighting, relaxing music.
Service were extremely friendly and fast.
Everything was just simply perfect but food. Food came to be tasteless and main dishes were way too salty.
Good for romantic nights with a couple of drinks.
Wouldn’t recommend it for dinner.
