This shop is a few blocks from my apartment and my go-​to place for cards. Yes, they are a little pricier than they would be at other chain stores, but they are almost all (or maybe all) locally made. I’m ok paying $ 2 more every few months to support a small, local business. I have also spent a lot of time just perusing their fun and interesting inventory. Sadly, I found out recently that they are closing soon, so I am planning on doing a lot of holiday shopping there before they close for good and hope others do the same! :(

Color BKLYN is a wonderful addition to Prospect Heights. This is the perfect place to get a present for every age. They have clever toys and books for kids, great household items, and unusual jewelry. An added bonus is that they are always friendly, things are reasonably priced, and someone is always willing to give you good suggestions for what to buy. If you ask me, my favorite gadget is the «Unitensil» (three utensils in one), a great gadget that was invented and produced by one of the owners.

Finally, a place to buy unique and affordable gifts in Prospect Heights. I’m always surprised when I go in that there’s new stuff and I can find a gift for a kid or a friend. A great addition to the neighborhood.

Love this new gift and card shop on Washington Avenue!!!
They also offer a range of classes in a back room studio — visual arts, robotics, languages. Check it out! I highly recommend.

Cute unique gift store just a few blocks away from the Brooklyn Museum. Lots of local designers and artists. You can find gifts for all ages and they will even wrap for free. They rent out a space in the back for classes and events, perfect for birthday parties.

This is the kind of gift shop you go to when you forget your friend’s birthday and have to buy an $ 8 letterpress greeting card to assuage your guilt. It’s also the kind of gift shop you go to when you’re staying with your in-​laws for a few days and need to find a fun hostess gift that says «Brooklyn.» As in, it literally says «Brooklyn» and has a map of the borough on it.
There’s also a community space in the back for drawing classes and group therapy.
