I’m sorry but the home fries must of been sitting out all night and he had the nerve to serve it to my man. Yuck !! They had a sour smell and when I opened my food there was a sticky Phlegm line attaching from the top of the container to the fries ! NEVERAGAIN Will I step foot in here. Consider yourself warned

There’s not too much country cooking in this place, I believe the name was a well crafted marketing tool solely created to attract African Americans in this predominantly black neighborhood, let me explain there’s no pork. The western omelette and home fries were dull and lackluster, totally and painfully void seasoning and flavor. Look, my mother was a country girl, born and raised in rural Swanquarters, North Carolina off the intracoastal waterway near a place known as «The Dismal Swamp», she cooked in a hotel known as River Forrest Manor in Belhaven, NC… way before the great migration North. Bottom line, I know country when I see it and well this just aint it. The omelette was hard fried and not seasoned, the hash browns were not brown, and lacked any hint of flavor or country. The coffee was totally a go. The waitress was friendly and warm, they got two stars from me because of her wonderful smile, not because of the food. When we asked about steak and eggs, we laughed hysterically when the waitress quoted $ 24.95 seriously… seriously. Stop… it. Dull. Plain. Don’t.

I must say this is my first time at a «diner» where you seat yourself and there is no waiter. Its weird. You take menus from the counter and seat yourself. When me and my party arrived it was busy, 2a.m. with many people at the counter waiting to get food. It seemed as though even if you ordered to stay or go, you got your food in to go containers. We probably took too much time trying to decide what to order and then saw the long line hadn’t moved… so we ended up walking out. Not sure if I’d come back here, it wasnt appealing at all. So weird because I passed by this place since forever and I thought it would be way more charming than it was.

I went there today and I can see him making a sandwich with his bare hands. I mean caressing the hero bread and smashing it down. I already ordered a tuna club so I just stood there in shock. I opened my phone and Google a dum question, «are restaurants required to use gloves to prepare meals?» And the results came back in 0.33 seconds… I didn’t need to click any links I just skimmed through and saw the words contamination and germs!!! Nuff said. I put one finger up like a church usher and told a waitress cancel my order.

The name is false advertisement. You can’t sell country food & not sell pork. I don’t believe it’s the same owners as when they did sell real bacon. The service wasn’t that good & what used to be delicious is now sub par. Disappointed.

Thank god for $ 2.95 halal breakfast. This is how much food is supposed to cost and what diners are supposed to be like. If you want fancy, this is not for you, but if you want to not have to take out a bank loan to have a greasy spoon breakfast, this is your place.

In a place like NYC — this diner is a gem! $ 2.95 for 2 eggs any style served with home fries or grits and toast. It’s a huge plate! For $ 2 more you can get turkey bacon, turkey sausage or turkey ham. The place prides itself on having an all halal menu. I can’t talk about anything else on the menu because the only thing I come here for is breakfast. If I am craving a traditional cheap breakfast platter with eggs this is my spot! This place is old school no thrill restaurant and draws a local Brooklyn crowd. The owner said this place has been around for 53 years and was a originally donut shop owned by his father before it turned into a diner. Cheap prices and open 24 hours, why not!

Are you drunk? Is it late? Don’t care what you are eating? This place is for you lol It was cheap and pretty standard for late night dinner food. I asked what vegan options and they gave me toast, home fries and grits, which were tasty.

Yo tuna melt is bangin’, ask to switch out for cheddar cheese. You won’t regret it. Burgers are good too.

Went here searching for food at 4am in the morning– a little gem! Our waiter(owner?) was so pleasant and the food itself was good especially for the serving time. Not really«country»(we come from the south so we had different interpretations of south) but I got a huge philly cheesesteak for $ 6 so I really can’t complain!

This spot is legit for a Texas boy that just wants some grits! Price points are under $ 10, you get a ton of food, it’s made to order and is 24 hours? What’s not to like? Latenight can be alittle longer on the wait times but for $ 10, you just have to deal! The people are neighborly, staff is to the point and kind… I hate that I found this place to late.

I had breakfast there and the food was terrible. My fiancée ordered the western omelet and it looked like a sloppy scrambled mess and the pancakes tasted like pure baking powder. I ordered the salmon and grits needless to say that was awful as well.

So sad! This place could be so good! I got the jalapeño and cheese omelet, which was just scrambled egg and pieces of jalapeño with a boat load of cheese melted on it. The coffee was weak and warm. But the redeeming quality is that they have some great employees! As friendly as expected for NY but they knew their locals and treated everyone like family. The set up is also perfect for a small Brooklyn diner. Cash only.

Nasty, old school relic, from the days when Brooklyn was really considered«Crooklyn.» Bad food, bad service. The last time I sat in Country House Diner to have a cup of tea and wait for the bus during the wee hours of the morning, there was a MOUSE shooting back and forth across the floor and the cooks found this hilarious!

I had sometime to kill before my hair appointment so I decided to stop in here for a little bite to eat. Its not bad as far as diners go. The place is kind of small but it was nice and clean the food was good, at least my BLT was. The staff was attentive, friendly and they made sure my glass of ice water stayed full.

Typical greasy spoon, nothing fancy. I’m ok with that, though, as long as the food is par for the course, which it was. The poor old man that was my server was sadly inept, I was rooting for him but he just wasn’t on top of his game, he didn’t even take my order, the cook(/owner?) took it. In fact, that guy charged me and was more on top of server duties than the server, which I suppose kinda evens out. The food was nothing to write home to mom about, though it was decent. It did come really quickly, which I can’t complain, if you want cheap, diner food at an affordable price, this is your joint.

Ha — I’ve only been here once but I accidentally checked in here twice — iPhone fumbles — and so now I’m apparently the Duchess. Well, that was awkward. It’s not very good. It’s not particularly cosy and the food is very average. Going to diners is usually fun and yummy but this felt a little more like hospital food, and they give grits a bad name. Shame though, I had hoped it was an undiscovered gem.

I ended up here late one night(more like 4 in the morning) after a night of dancing at Moe’s. Well this is not the place to be at that hour of the morning. They attract a rowdy, drunken crowd. I watched as women fist fought outside the establishment after eating their food. It was too much! The food took awhile to come but it was decent. Maybe at a different hour things would be different. I’m in no rush to go back.

My friends and I come here often. It’s not too far from where we live and most importantly it’s VERY reasonable. That’s what I like the most. The food is regular diner food, they don’t have a super great menu but it works for me because most of the time I go on the weekends and for breakfast. The décor is regular… nothing fancy. But it gets the job done. I eat, it’s cheap, and I’m on my way. I never have to wait for a seat and I never feel rushed. They are slightly under staffed and forget about you sometimes but besides that it’s cool. Oh! And make sure you have cash because they don’t except cards. They do have an ATM machine in there but who wants to pay the fee?! Just bring cash.
