Haab Mexican Restaurant

Went here with my girl and her friends because we just missed smorgasburg. Finding parking was a bitch and everyone was really hungry. We had another Mexican in mind to go to but couldn’t find parking around that place. So we randomly found parking and stumbled upon this place ! Best stumbled upon place ever !!!
I ordered 3 tacos-​AMAZING !!! I had the Pulled pork bbq, a chicken mole, and a duck taco. The flavors were amazing. The pulled pork one was my favorite !
My girl ordered the steak quesadilla and she said it was really good. We also ordered the quac and chips and it was really good. The guac was a bit over salting. The sauces were really good. The albo sauce the tomotillo sauce are my favs.
The 4 of us each ordered a margarita: peach, hibiscus, passion fruit and the spicy mango. I tried all 4 and like the passion fruit the best.

Had the burger which was juicy and nicely seasoned. The fries with the burgers was plentiful but on the salty side. We also had the steak nachos which was tasty (not the kind of nachos to use your hands). The staff was polite.

Stopped here for dinner on a whim tonight after going on a long walk through Prospect Park. The guacamole and chips were fantastic. The chips were light and crisp, and the guac was creamy perfection. The wait staff was pleasant and the décor was inviting. Although they have a bar it seemed like a very family friendly joint. If you’re wondering whether to get the HAAB special burrito: do it. Without Unilocal we probably would’ve never found this little joint.

First time here. Passed by a few time and found review on Unilocal.We both enjoyed it. We like that they recommend dishes to try. Grilled corn very good. The whole meal was very fresh. Out door seating

Amazingly good nachos and a nice, casual atmosphere. Great for sitting down or doing take-​out. Highly recommend!

Not a bad spot for happy hour. Their guacamole and queso fundido are great! The tacos though are so so, the meat has good flavor but is too dry, so not that enjoyable. They should be great if you paying almost $ 5 a taco! The main dishes are too expensive, you can get the same amount for half the price if you go up sunset park like tacos matamoros or ricos tacos, now these places hit the taco spot!

Cool cool spot! Went on a Wednesday on my lunch break and didn’t leave til 2 hours later lol (shhhhhh) Service was great and food was tasty! I had the mojito sangria so refreshing and perfect for a mid day drink. fish taco and chicken taco for a light lunch, both was just perfecto! Unue was our Awesome waiter for the day! No complaints at allllll! Great spot definitely will be back as a regular lol!

It’s kinda 3.5 stars; but closer to «OK» than «i’m a fan».
There were lots of empty tables about 10pm on Friday night, it’s not a buzzing party kind of place. The waitress was lovely and helpful, tho she overlooked the «no onions» request for the salad, she brought an onion-​free replacement salad with apologies. My dining companion (who likes raw onions) was cheekily hoping she’d get to keep the wrong one too, but that’s not a reasonable request :)
The best dishes were the extreme ends of the meal. The chips and dips at the start were fresh with a great selection of salsas. The tres leches cake at the end was wonderful. The stuff between (salads and tacos) were just about ok.
I’d not choose to go back, but if I was taken there again I’d be totally OK giving it another try. That about sums up 3 stars…

Food was very savory. I had the huevos rancheros with a side of bacon (super crispy). He had the steak torts and had to had some hot sauce (but that’s likely personal preference). The spicy mango Margarita is definitely a must have. Will be back soon!

Nachos, duck taco and fish taco are on point! Friendly staff. Very tasty and potent red sangria. Will be back!

One of the best kept secrets in the neighborhood. I have no idea why this place isn’t consistently packed. I suspect if they were on 5^th or 7^th they would get way more business, but they seem to hold their own for at least brunch. I’ve been here for brunch now at least 4 times, and each time left full and happy. Coffee is excellent, not too acidic and served with a dash of cinnamon, and the sangria is very flavorful (and strong!).
Tons of options, big portions, and not all of the entrees are limited to Mexican – my friend had an amazing Croque Madame that was half the size of her head. I usually get either a chorizo or veggie scramble that comes with generous helpings of beans, rice, guacamole, and tortillas.
The service is a bit slow, but for food this great, well worth the wait.

Discovered this by accident. Glad we did though. A typical Sunday full of shenanigans in the slope! We came up this place and decided to circle back after a few hours of drinking.
We had an amazing waiter and the drinks and food were good. The shrimp taco was really good and the flan was on point. If you do not want alcohol go with a juice a fresh one something they make in house! The interior is cozy and is a good place to go for some substance after drinking all day or night.

Beautiful, flavorful huevos rancheros!!! Well prepared food, friendly service. High recommended.

The food here is pretty delicious. Everything I had was flavorful and fresh. The only complaint I have is the poor direction on the menu. The «brunch» menu boasts a free drink with purchase, however there’s no way to see where «brunch» ends and just regular breakfast food begins. So when my grilfriend and I ordered drinks we thought were included we were charged. When we asked about the free drink inclusion the waiter said «ohh everyone gets confused it only applies to the top portion of the menu». Which i found weird, if everyone gets confused why not do a better job explaining it. However besides that the gaucamole, chilequillas and heuvo’s ranchero’s were deilicious. I’ll be coming back.

I honestly don’t get what all the negative reviews are about. My wife and I recently went to Haab this past weekend and it was great! Our waiter was friendly and helpful, the drinks were great and the food was fantastic. We started off with a lovely beet salad, and both had mix of tacos of all different fillings and my favorite was the chicken mole. We will most certainly be back again.
Especially with Rachel’s (which we used to love) getting more and more mediocre, it’s nice to have a Mexican place that’s putting a little more effort into the food.

Really enjoy this gem of a place. Staff is always friendly and accommodating, food is excellent especially the salmon burrito (a frequent special that is soo good I wish they would add to the permanent menu)
My only disappointment is that they don’t offer liquor so the margarita and bloody Mary’s are made with agave wine — taste ok but not the same.
Don’t worry, They have a decent beer and wine selection.

Went for lunch today. In conversation with the waitress she asked if I was vegetarian and I said yes. I ordered cheese enchiladas mole and a side of black beans. The enchiladas came smothered in lettuce, avocado & radishes. Waitress forgot to serve the beans until I asked where they were. She was really a bit spacey!
After eating through the salad topping and getting into the enchilada I discovered it was chicken — ughh! Asked the waitress to take it back and bring me cheese. She thought I’d ordered chicken. How she could’ve thought that is beyond my comprehension after I told her I was vegetarian and we repeated the cheese order a couple times. As I said — spacey waitress.
After talking to the chef she tells me I’ll be charged for the chicken enchiladas as I’d eaten some. This was outrageous! How would I know what’s inside without eating a bite? I told her I wouldn’t pay for something I didn’t order; I’d just eat the beans and leave. So she came back saying the chef would make me cheese enchiladas and not charge for the chicken ones. When they came, the cheese enchiladas had no sauce on them — just two enchiladas with some lettuce on top. I should’ve gotten mole sauce on it, as ordered. Guess the chef felt he was being generous giving me cheese enchiladas; the sauce was too much for him. I was so disgusted that I asked to pack it up to go as just wanted to get out of that awful place.
To add insult to injury the spacey waitress charges me for the mole enchiladas. When I protested she revised the bill.
This place is not to be believed. I will NEVER go back with that kind of attitude towards a customer shown to me. There are other Mexican restaurants in the area where they know how to treat customers!

My fiancé and I stopped in here after parking near by looking for a bite to eat in the neighborhood.
We had such good mexican food! The guacamole was fresh tasting and the chips were crispy and delicious.
I also ordered the Sparkling mint limeade, which tasted like a mojito (minus the liquor) and to me that’s great since I am 8 months pregnant and can’t drink! I forgot how much I missed a good mojito!
The food itself came out fast and was really tasty. I had the grilled chicken burrito and my fiancé had the Tres Enchadildas. His looked amazing!
My burrito was pretty good but it was lacking a little cream in the inside, which I fixed by adding the left over guacamole.
Over all really delicious! We will be coming back soon
