Mura

Take-​out for Mura was always the best. They would never take long and it was always what I ordered, no mess ups.
However, I’m deducting 2 stars because their delivery is not the best. Sometimes they take too long to bring me my food. And I don’t live that far. Approximately 20 – 25 mins on bike. So I don’t understand how in the world it takes over an hour to deliver simple orders (like 2 salmon maki rolls).
Also. The delivery people can be sort of Greedy. The last time I ordered from this place (because
I decided that this was not worth it) the delivery man had to give me back change. I was counting the money so I could give him a tip but before I could even count the 3^rd dollar he said «no tip?» With his hand out smirking.
Let me make this clear. YOU DO NOT ASK FOR TIPS! I was surprised he even asked for a tip when it took him over an hour to get here. And once he said that I simply put the money away and said no. Then he asked «eh, why not?» So I just simply walked back into my building without giving him an explanation.

Low and behold, their special bento box! soup and salad. I had tempura which normally don’t go for it was light and crispy. The California roll lovely! I wish we ordered a side of something else too. It was pleasant cool and the interior was dark and cozy. Our waitress was friendly and quick, me did not feel rushed. Live goldfish for entertainment.

This place has gone downhill in quality and freshness. The yellowtail was a weird brown color and I had to spit out the first piece because of the fishy stale taste. Also, I ordered through seamless and they completely ignored all of my special instructions. Lastly they are using crab stick for the blue crab roll — unacceptable. This used to be our go to sushi spot, but after last nights delivery we will surely be looking for a new place.

Love the sushi here, esp. served with piping hot sake. Nice atmosphere and reasonable prices.

Removing a star and updating this review. The quality of the food has dropped and their delivery has been both late and frustrating in that unlike literally every other restaurant, they won’t deliver to the apartment and fixed us to form down and meet them.
There are better options for sushi and it’s not worth going with a mediocre place.

The best takeout sushi I’ve had in New York so far. I got the Miso Chilean Sea Bass Roll and the Fancy Roll. My friend got some a la carte sashimi and a couple basic rolls. Arrived on time and with plenty of soy, wasabi, and ginger.
I appreciate the variety of special rolls on their menu. Nothing too outlandish or adventurous, but plenty of delicious choices.

Great food, great prices! The bento box lunch special was very filling! Will be back. The bento box I had came with tempura shrimp, California rolls, vegetables endame and rice. Really enjoyed this.

This is officially my go-​to sushi place to order on seamless. I LOVE this place, and especially the sushi sashimi mix. Their gyoza’s are pretty killer too. Fast delivery (as well).

I stopped in for lunch with my daughter, and everything was delicious! I had the Tofu Teriyaki lunch special, and she the Salmon. The food was delicious, the price was great, and the service was amazing! If you are in Park Slope, I definitely recommend.

I came here with my boyfriend. He had the salmon avocado roll, I had the tuna skin avocado roll and we shared a mixed vegetable roll. Our lunch special also came with miso soup and salad with a ginger based dressing. We both thoroughly enjoyed the sushi. It was a perfect meal for the two of us. We have tried Sushi at different places before and this was a great portion for the prices. 18 rolls + delicious miso soup + salad for $ 12 is amazing :-). We would come again and try the other sushi here!

This is my go-​to sushi place in Park Slope. Excellent red bean ice cream. Great for intimate birthday dinners. I recommend the New York roll and anything with eel.

My kids and I love this place. The Sushi is always so good and fresh, and the staff is very attentive.

I do not think you can find better Nabeyaki Udon in this area. And, I’ve tried a lot of sushi/​sashimi options for delivery and it seems like Mura is the place that gets it right every time. For example, a Tuna maki roll for $ 5 and salmon/​avocado maki roll for only $ 5.50 is a great deal but it’s even better when it tastes so delicious. Incredibly fresh sashimi/​sushi rolls here, plus with the winter season coming along you know you want some Udon! If I were in this area, I’d order from Mura again… and again and again.

I have to negatively update my review, I owe it to the other Unilocalers.
Quality of sushi, and freshness, to me, is getting worse. Fried dishes delivered come cold and chewy.
I wrote them a message on Unilocal to inform them about a problem I had on a delivery and they did not get back to me.
Prices are high and even after hundred delivery in two years they never gave a «preferred customer» discount or even a free nigiri, nothing to say: Thank you we appreciate your business and loyalty. I think we deserved it.
Sorry but I have too look around and find another sushi delivery restaurant to trust and enjoy. Mainly because of losing quality.

The food is good, but it would be amazing if they would actually get our order right… Ordered the crab cakes appetizer that was supposed to come with lobster salad, instead was brought a crab cake with a pinch of lettuce. When I asked the waitress she ran to the back and brought be a pinch of lobster salad on the side… Weird… The food was good but it took them forever to bring it out, considering there was only 2 other couples sitting in the restaurant the «they were really busy» excuse doesn’t fly. Fresh fish but before u get it served on your plate they will make you wait as if they have to actually go fishing for it 1^st.

I go to Mura every week! It’s the most delicious sushi in Brooklyn and the service is amazing. The sushi is always fresh! Beautiful outdoor seating area also. Highly recommended.

First time here today — very solid and good service. May be the new standard for mid week sushi

Service Was EXCEPTIONAL!!! I visited here earlier today with my boyfriend for a surprise dinner and at first the menu was a bit confusing but the waitress was very helpful and polite which made it better. I had a combo platter of teriyaki chicken and shrimp with California rolls a side of soup and salad which also came with rice and my boyfriend had a king fish. The food was AMAZING !!! Disappointed that they didn’t have any cocktails or mixed drinks but the food was good I didn’t care. Overall the restaurant was awesome will definitely go back :)
