This place is very interesting. Service: 2⁄5. There were 4 of us, and said we would like to share things. He never brought us plates, which made it very hard. Our water kept running out too and we had to keep asking Food: Raclette is very good(for 2 people), Fondue is alright. The bread it comes with isn’t good at all. We also had the mac and cheese and the ham appetizer. All ok. Dining Area: 0⁄5. The bathroom is literally RIGHTNEXT to the dining tables. Whoever walks in/out of the bathroom. you get a view of the toilet seat while you’re eating. Restaurant could have placed a curtain to surround the bathroom area. This really ruins the mood and makes it very awkward. All in all, there are many cute restaurants around. I wouldn’t come to this one.

This place is aaaaamazing. Brunch? Yes. Dinner? You bet. A cheesy snack? Sure! What I’d recommend is the following: Come for a pre-dinner app-tastic meal, and get the cheese-by-country tasting paired with wine. I got Italy, my friend got France, but since we shared… it was basically a U.N. meeting. The owner is very sweet and you can tell they know their stuff about cheese. I’d hit this place up for Valentine’s Day or something romantic, too, since they have all kinds of candles making it nice and purdy for ya.

I love this place. The owner knows his wines and cheeses and what goes well together. I even say«I’m in this kind of mood today» and he will recommend a wine and cheese based on what I say and get it right! It’s so nice to have a place you can feel comfortable and welcome going to. Now I wish I was there instead of work(and no I shouldn’t be writing Unilocal reviews right now). oh well. 2 more hours.

Loved this place. Been meaning to go in since it opened and finally did and I am so glad I did! Food was delicious, wine was great, service was lovely. Sat at the bar and ordered a bottle of Pinot Noir to split with my friend. We asked them to pair meats and cheeses(two of each) with the wine, and they did a great job. We also ordered a kale Caesar salad and the quinoa croquettes. With the bread this was the perfect supper for my friend and I. We ended up ordering a second bottle — this time a Cab — and they gave us some sweet and spicy nuts to go with it. Really yummy! It was super duper cozy and warm last night(one of the first cold nights of the year! and rainy) — but they also have a garden for warmer weather. I loved it and will be definitely going back!

I have been here four times and meant to write a rave review every time! Finally getting around to it! The first time I visited was earlier in the summer. My friend and I sat at one of the tables on their lovely back patio. We were wandering around the area looking for a place to have drinks and some small plates and happily stumbled into Pair. The atmosphere in the back was absolutely perfect. It was quaint and quiet. We both ordered a tasty IPA that we had never had before from upstate and we shared the green olives and these little cheese puffs that were delightfully flaky. We decided to share the cheesecake with berry compote and it did not disappoint. My second trip there was for a late brunch with my roommate. I ordered the omelet with fresh baby kale and confit potatoes. The owner informed me that they had a new chef and, once again, everything was perfect. They have $ 5 glasses of prosecco during brunch that paired perfectly with the meal. The meal was light and left me feeling completely satisfied. The grilled cheese is also… perfect. The vibe, atmosphere, and especially the people at Pair make it a lovely experience.

Made a pit stop here for a glass of wine before dinner one evening on a Saturday. Cute little place where the staff know their wine. We got a cheese plate as an appetizer which was delicious and a Malbec that paired nicely with everything. Didn’t have our meal there but saw several other people that did who seemed to be enjoying it. Will definitely go back

They had a great menu. I loved the garden seating. The only reason I didn’t give 5 stars is because the server seemed like she did not want to wait on us. She didn’t give any information on the wine or what it paired well with. When I asked, it seemed like a bother.

Romantic but most importantly quiet. It’s hard to find a place that fosters conversational tones, but this place does it with classic rock and old-school playing at a reasonable volume. Minimalist and modern décor keep the place inviting. The prices for the wines are inviting as well. For as little as $ 30 you can get a bottle of wine, so it’s good for groups. In addition to cheese, charcuterie, and wine, the menu will please carnivores and vegetarians alike. We had their scallops, made with parmesan, polenta, and romesco, and though scanty in size, it was delicious. The first time I came I had the gougeres with a glass of wine. They were a little dry and not cheesy enough for my taste but there are other things on the menu to sample. So why two stars? Because this isn’t 1990. The days of pairing snootiness with cabernet are over. Wine is now approachable, affordable, and fun, and an establishment that needs patrons should be as well. We were greeted(possibly by the owner) halfheartedly when we came in. It took a while for out order to be taken and then served, and we had to leave to catch a movie. When we were done, we walked up to the bar to ask for the bill, and that seemed to be a problem as the waitress’s attitude changed pretty quickly afterwards. We got a strained, «Enjoy the show,» called out to us as we left. Who doesn’t want to pair wine and cheese? The menu, while pricey, is backed by the idea that anyone can find a wine and its culinary counterpart for every palette and taste. I was excited to try it. But the two stars is a testament to how important customer service is, especially when you expect customers to pay above average prices for below average servings.

So, my beautiful retired mother checked out a segment covering this restaurant on Eyewitness News(she’s so cute)…decided to take her out for a night on the town but OMG what a disappointment! I hate negative reviews but I’ll break it down for you. This is what we ordered: — the New World and France pairings — deviled eggs — olives — quinoa croquettes — spaghetti squash — salted beets — lamb ribs — 2 Mac and cheese sides Ok, very, very basic cheese! Look, I’ll save some words here… just go to Murray’s. I’m not even sure the standards for which they uphold the cheese are regulation(ROTTEN!) So, the food… tasteless! Be sure to ask for basic salt and pepper or, you know, just walk out. Seriously, WALKOUT! Lamb ribs… how dare you only have 2 large plates and have one of them be ridiculously fatty lamb ribs!!! Shame one you!!! Frustrated, I ordered water at the tail end to take away the blandness and asked for lemon… the response was«well, we have lime juice.» DONE, never again

Beautiful space(clean, sleek and modern but not cold), great selection of wine and beer and delectables! Chung and his staff could not have been friendlier. I will definitely be back.

Quiet, warm, charming place. Lovely in summer, with the terrace. The food is based on cheese, wine(who´d knew, huh! haha) and charcuterie but don´t think it´s something simple. They can prepare everything in ways you can´t even imagine and all of them are tasty ways! You really have to give it a try. The people working there is fantastic, they are really great and will explain every plate in detail and sit with you to talk about anything you want, if they have some time :)

Peaceful. Kind staff. Elegant. Cheeses and charcuterie. Some heartier dishes too. Bring a date or sit by yourself and feel the stress melt away.

Nice sm biz clean, kind *a lil unorganized for the influx of customers. *seats are hard and pvt indoor group seating could use cushioning and a chandelier and quilt wall borders to plush out the plain décor staff, cool choices waitresses had hardly any knowledge of their selections to give referrals to customers. Guess they will someday. *pairings overall is are tasty! A little gem

Stopped by here one night after a few drinks down the road at Long Island Bar. The line at Colonie was too long and I was happy to try out a new place since our selection of good dining establishments are limited north of Atlantic Ave. Good olé Brooklyn heights, the wasteland of good food. Maybe it’s my affluent neighbors that are of the older crowd of have families and don’t care to go out for dinner. But I’m sick of the same olé places that offer mediocre delivery that takes an hour. I stepped into Pair and loved everything. We ordered a few items from each section to get a taste of everything. Nothing disappointed. How can you go wrong if you start with a good underlining of cheese. The owner and I chatted about Greek wine and his love of affinage. He even showed me his stash that he was aging after he got to know that I was a fellow affineur. At this point my friends were confused and lost interest haha, but if you’re looking for a good albeit light dinner with good wine and atmosphere come stop by and try out the daily pairing at the bar and move on to dinner when you’re done!

Excellent brunch on the patio last Saturday. I had the Frico Benedict, a eggs benedict with a potato fritter replacing the traditional English muffin. It was basically like eating a perfect side of hasbrowns and a perfect eggs benedict at the same time. They also had awesome $ 5 bellinis with passion fruit purée instead of the usual peach. Wrapped things up with the panna cotta, which was light and very elegantly plated . As you would expect, the cheeses are all fantastic and you can buy them any of them at the counter along with a few jarred spreads and dips. I bought some pinot cherries(less sweet than luxardo and taste amazing on cheesecake or a creamy brie) and a quince-and-apple spread to take home. I was just visiting and am very jealous of anyone lucky enough to live nearby.

Stopped in tonight, sat on their newly extended patio, tasted two cheeses, two wines, the ravioli, and the eggplant salad(subbed asparagus for cheese on the salad as we were cheesed out) and thoroughly enjoyed. Great cheese, wine, and charcuterie selection, friendly service, sexy but casual environment, and lovely patio area.

Stopped by for happy hour with friends and ordered their wine & cheese for $ 12 deal. A generous amount of cheese and wonderful choices for wine. The service was super knowledgeable and friendly. I’ll definitely be back!

Great new neighborhood spot to get my two favorite things– wine & cheese. They have a wonderfully curated wine list and the waitress was great at helping my husband & I choose cheese to pair our wine with. I was in dairy heaven– they have an amazing selection of cheese. I can’t remember the name of my favorite– but it was a truffle-laced soft, creamy cheese that was to-die-for! Along with an assortment of cheese, we started with the Gruyère tarts– mmm, delicious apple and prosciutto filled pastry. My husband ordered the Croque Madam which was super crunchy and perfectly buttery– I had major food envy and kept stealing bites. I ordered the mac-and-cheese with the chorizo but when they delivered it, there wasn’t any chorizo which was a major bummer. The kitchen was closing so I didn’t even mention that they forgot the chorizo. I hope if I order the mac and cheese next time, the chorizo is not forgotten as it was rather bland without. Overall, I look forward to returning for their wine and cheese!

Stopped by PAIR before they had wine, so my husband and I only got to try their food, but now that I hear they got their license, will definitely have to go back for the full experience. Their menu is cheese heaven. They had a broad range of very enticing American and European cheeses available for a cheese plate, but we went for the warm dishes. We had the raclette, gruyère tart, and the frico. The raclette was amazing – melted cheese kept warm with a burner, served with an assortment of seasoned vegetables. The bit of acid on the veggies with the creamy raclette … yum, still thinking about it. The frico was a revelation. I’ve never had a cheese pancake before, but looking forward to having it again. It’s Montasio with potatoes and onions panfried in the shape of a pancake. As you can imagine, it’s very satisfying and highlights the cheese very well. It’s served with a tomato jam that is very tasty and a nice complement. The gruyère tart was also good, but I would go with something like the raclette or frico which is more of a cheese experience. Our waiter was attentive and knowledgeable, and the very enthused owner came by for a chat. This is the nice thing about a place that is newly opened, and we plan to go there more before the word starts spreading. I have a feeling now that they have their wine license, it’s a place that’s going to get crowded.
