Positano Restaurant

Awesome décor, attentive waiters, AMAZING food! Have to try their homemade Neoplian Cake! OMG SOO YUM! you will not be disappointed.

1^st time there I didn’t know what to expect, I can say that the service was superior, the waiters were very attentive for all your needs, the food was splendid, the appetizer was excellent a variety of Zucchini, Mushrooms, Mozzarella, Sweet Cherry tomatoes in a pesto sauce, YUM… A bread basket with variety and a excellent dipping oil. My wife had the Penna A La Vodka, Wonderful was her exclamation.
I enjoy their Giant Seafood platter with home made linguine Lobster, Scallops, Mussels, Calamari, and Clams that had a little heat in the sauce. All in all it was a very pleasant experience.

Wow! What a find. I wish we could keep it all to ourselves, but that would be a huge disservice. We were visiting Brooklyn and looked on Unilocal for a place to eat dinner. From the moment we walked thru the doors the service food atmosphere was amazing. The quality of the food is outstanding. I especially loved our servers Sergio and Willie. Truly amazing gentlemen who are excellent at their craft! Highly recommend. When we are back we will not miss out and will eat again at Positano’s.

The entire dinner experience was amazing. We began with the burrata and bottle of Coppola Cabernet, didn’t feel rushed and every bite was amazing.
We bother opted for pasta dishes and they were amazing. Desserts were off the charts ridiculous! Will def go back!

The service at this restaurant is second to none… The manager Sal is very accommodating and the food was exceptional. Definitely try the linguine with scallops and the sesame calamari. Amazing! Many hostesses are there to service you at every moment… Top choice in Brooklyn w valet parking!

I went last night with my boyfriend, this was our third time going. It’s where we go locally for great food and an intimate environment. The service was absolutely excellent. The manager Willie was outstanding, he made us comfortable and made sure we were properly taken care of. He gave excellent wine suggestions, he definitely deserves a raise! The food was delicious I had the lamb chops and my boyfriend ordered the meatballs with spaghetti. We both cleared our plates :). The meal was absolutely flavorful.
The ambiance was outstanding nicely decorated, great music (I had to ask, they were playing Phil Collins radio, loved it).
Overall food, service, interior were all excellent, this is what dining out should be like.

Wonderful ambience great service and excellent food. Had the stuffed artichoke almost as good as moms and fish entrees which were fresh well seasoned and sizable. Will return and highly recommended!

I HIGHLY recommend this restaurant to all of you! The atmosphere is elegant and sophisticated. It has a full bar with a knowledgable, fast serving bartender who knows how to serve it up in style. The staff is amazing, the owners are very nice and you really do feel like family when you walk in. I love love the décor from the Frank Sinatra painting in the back room, to the chandeliers on the ceiling. Last but not least… the food. I HIGHLY recommend the artichoke. It was huge, stuffed with breadcrumbs and garlic. It was stuffed well and was super tasty. What wowed me, was the cheese stuffed in the artichoke heart. I have never seen anyone stuff all parts of an artichoke and it was a delicious treat. I loved it!!! The deserts are amazing too. I recommend the Nutella chocolate lava cake with fresh berries and paired with vanilla ice cream and fresh whipped cream. Delicious, Elegant and the perfect staff makes a wonderful evening. Please, if you have not tried this place, make sure you go ASAP! FYI just call first to make a reservation it gets very packed, but when you go, you will see, taste and know why! Enjoy! My party of 7 enjoyed our visit tremendously. We started with the Stuffed Artichoke which had favors that reminded me of grandma’s best cooking. Sampled the raw bar and the sizes of the oysters and shrimp were outstanding. We all ordered different dishes from pasta to chicken to seafood. All dishes were outstanding. We asked the Manager, Willie to recommend some favorites and we were not disappointed. We shared desserts and its s a good thing they were big enough for two or more to share. Our waiter Sergio was pleasant, knowledgeable and helpful. A great time, with good ambiance, nice background music and out of this world great tasting food. We will return.

I was part of a group of nine people who were dining at Positano for the first time. The restaurant was prepared for us and we had a big table all set up well in advance of our reservation time. We ordered some bottles of wine and a bunch of appetizers and everything was really tasty and came out quickly.
We ran into a problem when my wife was working with the waiter to accommodate her gluten allergy. She wanted one of the specials, but after learning it came pre-​breaded the waiter suggested to switch the fish. We thought that meant same meal, but different fish. It actually meant an entirely different seafood dish, one that my wife wouldn’t have ordered normally. We figured better safe than sorry when it comes to her gluten allergy and my wife ended up liking what she ended up with.
Unfortunately we still ended up sorry as my wife ended up throwing up most of the night. We’re not sure if it was gluten, or bad fish, but either way it was terribly unpleasant.
So why 4 stars? My wife called the owner/​manager the next day and explained the situation and he was extremely apologetic, emphasized how serious they take food allergies, and he ended up refunding all of what we paid for ²⁄₉ of everything, not just the bad meal. We aren’t from Brooklyn so in lieu of a gift card he offered to just send us a check. This excellent customer service and the fact that everyone else really enjoyed their meals is why I think Positano deserves 4 stars. Just be careful if you have celiac and double/​triple check to ensure your meal was prepared gluten free.

I’ve heard nothing but great things about this place so a friend & me went to check it out last night. The staff was great. Our waiter Mike was very attentive & very friendly. The food was beyond excellent. I had this homemade pasta special that was little purses of pasta filled with heaven. The gorgonzola cream sauce was to die for. My friend had the salmon over risotto & it looked divine. The new renovations are fantastic. The only thing i noticed, the beautiful bread plates on the table setting were chipped, that just jumped out at me. Definitely recommend, get there early to beat the crowd.

The food here is wonderful. Flavors are perfect and their warm bread with flavored olive oil with rosemary, garlic, and herbs really was a beautiful touch. I had linguine with clams with white wine sauce. Appetizer was fried calimari (huge portion!) and hubby had large ribbon pasta with bolgnese. Although the price was a bit on the high side, it was worth it!

Best Dover Sole I’ve had in years. The rest of the menu is also very good. Beautiful décor. Very good service.

It was our first time to Positano and we will definitely be coming back. The calamari with the Asian sauce and the mussels were so flavorful. They were listed under the appetizers but they were large enough to be the main course.
For my main course I had the butternut squash ravioli’s which were so delicious and my sons finished off their lobster ravioli’s without a problem.
As for my 86 year old mother, our waiter Mike, made sure she was happy with whatever she wanted and however she wanted it. Her Alaskan salmon was cooked to perfection with a yummy sauce.
We really didn’t have room for desserts but after hearing them, we had to try a couple and they were fantastic!!!
All in all, we couldn’t have asked for a more perfect evening with delicious food and attentive waiter and wait staff.

I am so glad I chose such a beautiful night to try this for the first time. Was able to sit outside on November 3, a perfect night for outdoor dining! Our waiter, Mike, gave us the perfect amount of attention and he will be requested every time we visit! You MUST try the Asian influenced Calamari… I know it’s an Italian restaurant but that Calamari is AMAZING!

1^st time there and the place looks absolutely beautiful from the chair décor to them meatballs appetizer;)was soo good, services was absolutely on point but too bad i only came for them meatballs next time I’ll do the full course meal

Excellent food. Very friendly & attentive owner & staff. I would have given 5 stars except the waiter (who WAS very nice, though) didn’t seem to know the menu well enough, so when my pasta dish (which was supposed to be meatless) arrived, it had pork in it. They did the right thing by taking it back immediately, apologized & offered me alternatives. Despite this faux pas, I DO highly recommend trying this place. The atmosphere is casual but VERY nice. There’s both indoor & outdoor seating & the décor is very pleasant. Same owners as Campagna in SI & Bay Ridge, which is excellent so they know their stuff. We will DEFINITELY be back.
