I’m hooked on the oxtails! My cat won’t stop staring at me and being totally creepy stalker-​ish when I’m eating it until there isn’t any left. That’s how good it is. God Bless you for coming to Industry City… the oxtails is like butter! But please give us more per serving-​so small.

ReCaFo catered my company lunch yesterday 10/​8, for about 250 people. It was the first time Jamaican food was featured here so everyone had high expectations. I can proudly say that my team was not disappointed. The vegans and carnivores were incredible satisfied with the food choices.
Menu:
Jerk chicken, Jerk wings, beef patties, chicken patties, vegan patties, and veggie chunks. The chicken and wings were on the spicy side but very good. The veggie chunks and patties went incredibly fast; definitely the best items featured.
Communication:
Dave and I were in constant communication because of the numerous menu inquiries and headcount changes. He was always patient and professional.
Service:
Chris and Anthony delivered the order. They were extremely polite. They even helped with set-​up, which was much appreciated.
Pricing:
Dave was willing to work within my budget and lower a few costs. I believe ReCaFo would’ve had a 5-​star rating but the trays are on the expensive-​side.
I look forward to the new catering menu and working with Dave again.

I have had the ox tail and the jerk chicken. Both are very good but they could give you a larger portion of meat for the price. The service is good and the people are friendly.

Really tasty Curry chicken. Would’ve given 5 stars but I didn’t like the taste of Stew chicken.
Would be a better place if they had delivery.

By force or fortune I stumbled upon this restaurant. I became displeased with the service at Golden Krust on Thomson Ave and wandered into the Falchi Building and have been coming here ever since. The food, service and staff are excellent. I appreciate the fact that they appreciate returning customers by offering a free meal after a number of visits when you register your email address.

Came here for lunch on a week day. I’ve never had Jamaican food before, so the workers recommended I try the jerk chicken. I ordered the mini with coconut rice. It came with 2 pieces of chicken, rice, salad, and plantains. Good variety and portion for only $ 5.55.
It was a pretty solid meal, but there was a flavor in the sauce/​seasoning that I wasn’t cray about. Hard to describe the flavor, but everyone I know who has eaten here raves about their jerk chicken – so maybe I’m just not a fan of jerk chicken in general.
Workers here were super nice! Want to come back and try their patties, I’ve heard they are good!

ReCaFo was recommended to me and my organization through one of our members, since I was left in charge of organizing a special celebratory dinner in Manhattan. That recommendation was well-​founded, and we enjoyed a great meal last night. I’ve had plenty of West Indian and Jamaican food over the years, and this by far, has surpassed all I’ve ever tried. Our guests all had something positive to say about the meal and were left with a great impression.
Let me start with the service. The owner, David Wisdom, was extremely professional and helpful, as well as easy to reach by e-​mail and phone. He helped us prepare our menu and even took into special consideration our vegetarian guests with a veggie medley serving. His recommendation helped us purchase the perfect amount of food for our number of guests, even with last-​minute additions for late RSVP’s. No one left hungry! He also made great recommendations on food pairings and dessert, which might be helpful for those less experienced with the cuisine, but want to give it a try. Delivery was on time, setup was quick, and the presentation (décor with peppers, fruits, etc.) on the serving tables was a nice touch.
As for the food, I personally tried the jerk chicken, curried chicken, coconut rice with peas, the fried plantains, and peppered steak. The jerk chicken was perfectly seasoned and cooked. Nice crisp skin on the outside and juicy and tender inside. The curried chicken had just the right amount of spice and kick, with meat coming right off the bone. The peppered steak was amazingly tender and tasted great. The rice had a nice subtle flavor which went perfect with the meats. The plantains were perfectly ripened and fried and not greasy. And their rum cake was an excellent desert option to finish off the meal.
I recommend this caterer for any occasion in which you want some good Jamaican cuisine. I believe they have a couple of restaurants open in the outer boroughs that are definitely worth trying. You can tell they care about the food and their customers, their prices are very reasonable, and their caliber of service and professionalism is a huge plus. Everything about my experience with recafo was great. I wanted to have some food catered for a small birthday party at my place in midwood. Dave was totally professional, returning calls quickly and being very timely emailing back and forth about menu options and pricing. Delivery was prompt and they were extremely patient when there was a snafu on the address.
The food: We ordered the basics jerk chicken, rice and peas and plantains. I didn’t really notice the food so much at the party because I was busy hosting. The next day though I sat down for some left overs and damn was that chicken good, slightly smokey and just the right amount of kick. The rice and peas were awesome and I think I detected a hint of cardamom? I will definitely use recafo in the future. If I were to recommend something for ordering I would say order ½ as much of the rice and peas as the number of people you have since people just don’t eat as much of it. Then order another side for ½ as many people you are having and there will be a another option.
I also had a number of guests who were Panamanian and Latino asking for recafo’s details so I think that passes the authenticity test.

The jerk chicken is awesome!
I am not a foodie, but the first time I went, the jerk chicken knocked my socks off. It was one of those moments where I thought to myself «wow, this is why people go crazy for food.» I have never had that experience anywhere but a fine restaurant. I have been back once since, and it was really good too if not the same mind blowing experience. Literally, better jerk chicken than I ever had in Jamaica.
Friendly staff too.

Used ReCaFo to cater an event for 20 – 25 people.
Set up guys were courteous and diligent. They also had answers to my questions on some of the dishes which I appreciated.
After I discovered that the cocktail patties were accidentally replaced by regular patties, they offered to cut up the patties which was professional.
Everyone loved the food. Tasted like home-​cooked food your grandmother would have made from scratch. The portions were larger than I was anticipating which was a pleasant surprise.
I will certainly keep ReCaFo in mind for my next event in the near future. Would have been five stars but they’re a little on the expensive side.

ReCaFo catered a baby shower I threw for my friend. The staff was friendly and responsive. They arrived on time for set up and were extremely professional.
The food was delicious! All of my guests were extremely happy with the rice and peas and oxtail in particular and this was a tough crowd of Caribbean natives! I received a number of requests for contact information for the ReCaFo.
I would definitely recommend their catering services!
