I’ve attended a few events at this catering hall now and I would say that it has a lot of old fashion charm. Now that won’t be for everyone, many people will want something that looks and feels a little more modern, but this place definitely has its own charm. Food is pretty decent from what I’ve had. Last time I was there I had stuffed fillet of sole and I definitely enjoyed it. Hors d’oeuvres were very good too.

I was a guest for a funeral luncheon. Unknown to me, the family(hosts) arranged for the group of 40 to arrive at 2:30. Because the traffic, service and burial happened quicker than anticipated, the first of the group arrived at 1PM. The manager didn’t let the early arrivers(me) confuse or throw him. He offered us coffee etc while I could see him directing his crew into a rapid preparation drill. I was impressed. The entire 40 person group was seated and began to be served by 1:30. Nice!!! By the way, the food was excellent. Appetizers of calamari, salad were prepared perfectly. I had the filet of sole. Also perfect. Service was top notch. If this was a restaurant & not a catering hall, I’d be back.

This is the BEST place in Brooklyn! ! when my daughter and I were looking for halls for her Sweet Sixteen this was the only place that had it all!!! We had looked at other places and was turned off with the attitude that the other places had!!! As soon as my daughter and I walked in Anthony M made us feel so welcomed! He was so nice and very accommodating to our needs! ! The place is beautiful, the food was so good and the staff was very nice. Cosmo was our maitre d and made sure everything was in order. I definitely recommend you consider visiting this place if you want to throw a party! !!!

Visit Date: June 22, 2014 I came here as a guest for my cousin’s wedding. I was here previously for another cousin’s sweet 16 but didn’t review it at the time. This place has good points and bad points. In my opinion it’s a 3 star catering hall and that’s it. I’m not sure about the cost of holding an event here and I’m not sure I’ll ever find out because I wouldn’t think of hosting an event here because I don’t live in Brooklyn. The bathrooms are halfway between upscale and public school toilets. The bathroom attendants hand out semi-hard paper towels to dry your hands with. Bathrooms here aren’t that much of an elegant experience. The lobby is so-so. It’s a mixture of marble and interesting but possibly outdated chandeliers. The event room I’ve been in twice was nice. It’s a pretty big space, marble all around, more interesting outdated chandeliers. The food I had was okay. The pizza appetizer was really good, plus all the veggies I picked out to eat. The spinach & cheese pies were okay but for a place owned by Greeks they could have been better. The ice cream bar dessert wasn’t all that spectacular. The ice cream bar looked kind of like a joke, only 3 ice creams to choose from plus a few toppings. When my cousin had her sweet 16 here the dessert choices were a lot better but I’m not sure if her mom paid extra or if she bought in desserts from the outside and was allowed to do that. I heard from someone that one of the wait staff didn’t wash their hands in the bathroom, I’m really glad I already ate all my food at that point because I probably would have not eaten a thing and made hubby drive through for food after the wedding was over if I had found out before hand. The wait staff did wear white gloves but still if you’re a food service employee you have to wash your hands. The coffee was awful. I was really happy my dad and I got coffee at this hole in the wall bagel place by the church before the wedding. Not only was this place stingy with the coffee but it also sucked. So if you have an event here expect it to be remembered as a 3 star event.

Managers and workers do not know what they are doing. They are confused and will try to scam you. My experience at Rex Manor was NOT good at all.

Went to a fundraiser on a Sunday afternoon. Food was good, I enjoyed the pasta and the Veal cutlet parm. The service is OK except you have to ask for soda and water pitchers. And you have to wait for a waiter to wonder by your table. The room was big and nicely decorated. The table and chairs are roomy and comfortable.

This was literally the worst food I have had in a long time. Barely edible. Scratch that, not edible at all. I came home after a 7 course dinner starving because I ate nothing. I do not recommend coming here for any occasion. Also, chicken with ham? No thank you.

This place has gone down hill year after year. People from the surrounding neighborhood know exactly what I mean. Food no longer has flavor and was dried out. Staff is unprofessional, especially the matradee that laughs at people for getting hurt. Take it from me and spend your hard earned money elsewhere.

Last week, I attended a Cancer Fund Raiser here at the Rex Manor catering hall with a few of my friends. The banquet room we were in was very spacious. The waitstaff was attentive and courteous. The food was excellent than any other catering hall I’ve been to. I had the stuff fillet of sole with crab meat, it was cooked perfectly, that’s how a fish should be cooked. My friends also enjoyed their food. The bathroom was well kept with an attendant. The valet attendant was scooping out cigarettes ends in the ash trays out in the front everytime we went out to have a cigarette. I must say this place is well kept and I would look forward to coming here for any events.

I have done many events here at the Rex and attended many as well. The food is awesome the people are kind and friendly and the best part is that the price is right. Did I mention that the food is awesome? Well this beautiful venue run by kind Greek people have done a great job. I’m actually hosting my engagement party here next year. I recommended this place to all.

Thank you Rex Manor for another fabulous family party. As always, every detail was carefully attended to. Your staff is wonderful, particularly the bartender who I think has been present at nearly every family celebration we’ve been lucky enough to hold at the Rex! Even though my immediate family has left Brooklyn for far flung reaches of the city — we always return to the Rex for our celebratory needs and will continue to do so in the future! Fabulous food, beautiful setting, wonderful staff — what more do you need?

This catering hall, run by Greeks, has excellent food and service. The space is very tight in the lobby, but the main large room is very nice and just remodeled with a beautiful tile floor. The renovation really helped, I used to feel this place was dumpy, but not anymore.
