Solid unhealthy faux Mexican food. Delivery usually takes over an hour, so be prepared. I never take off points for delivery, though. Don’t order delivery on a Friday night and wonder why it takes an hour. That really irks me, Unilocalers. If you don’t want to walk your ass down the street to pick up your food, a lot of other people probably don’t either. But back to the Tex Mex pizza … This place doesn’t pretend to be authentic. Tex mex pizza? I mean, come on. But their tacos are filled with delicious choices such as goat, shrimp, carne asada, al pastor, etc. My favorites are shrimp, ground beef(i know i know how boring) and al pastor. The chicken Tinga burrito is great too. Meals used to come with a few chips and guacamole but that seems to be a thing of the past. A very small container of guacamole(about 1 oz maybe) is 50 cents. You can get a side for 4 bucks. It is good, but of course I liked it better when it was free: D Last night I ordered Tacos Placeros, which I had no idea what to expect. I thought it was a taco with rice and beans on the side. Basically it is a monstruous taco(I got milenesa de res) with some poblano peppers and a ton of rice inside. All in all, the place is good. It’s not fancy but it hits the spot and the people who work there are super friendly which makes me want to give them my monies.

Horrifying. That’s the only word I can use to describe the delivery I received from this place. I really dislike writing negative reviews, but to be completely honest, this place deserves nothing. Maybe dining in would result in a better product, however, I’m skeptical, and will never be trying it. If I DONOT get food poisoning I will be surprised. My stomach is already making angry noises, along with my brain and fingers, while writing this review.

I’m always leery of an establishment that offers tacos and pizza, but boy so they get it right across the board. The pizza is delicious and has a buttery-soft crust. The tacos are fresh and amazing. I highly recommend the pollo tacos and al pastor tacos. They’re both absolutely exquisite.

A new place to get good tacos, that was formerly a place to get good tacos, in a neighborhood that has a number of good taco options. But why get these good tacos, at this good taco place? Because these good tacos, while not the sensationalist, craaaazy topping types, or the overloaded-with-low-end product, bang-for-your-buck types coming off the trucks on the other side of the BQE, are made like your Mexican grandmother would make them. The vibe of the place is nothing but friendly. There are neon posterboard signs on the wall with handwritten menu items. The staff’s accomodating. A Mexican softball team rolled in and the counter help was ebullient on their arrival. I could hear a lot of familiarity in the conversation. I tried the tacos al pastor y pollo. They took a few minutes to prep and serve but I was content knowing that the chicken was cooked on the spot rather than pulled from a hot bin. While I was waiting I was given a small side of chips and salsa to keep me occupied. The pineapple and pork taco al pastor was really nicely done. And I even got a lesson in chip eating etiquette while I was there. I’m from the midwest. They never give you spoons with the salsa in the midwest. I always assumed it was more polite to spoon the salsa to the chip than take the chip to the salsa. I learned, joyfully, that there’s really no wrong way to do it.
