Had the baked eggs in a skillet. The baguette they served with it was a little lack luster. Friendly staff and good background music. $ 10.75 with small bottle of Pellegrino.

No ac on a hot day… I walked in and the place looked great, but with just one small fan everybody inside was sweating. The menu looked great and I would have loved to try something. Not going to work for getting things done!

It makes me sad to give this place a mediocre review but the past few experiences have been bad. There is only one dude barista who knows how to make great coffee. When he is there is is awesome. Otherwise terrible. The positive is that all the baristas are friendly and nice. Another big disappointment is that they no longer have small take out cups for espresso drinks. Might not bother other people but I hate drinking my flat white out of a half filled 12oz cup. I’ll still go here because it is the best option in the area but I wish they would up their standards!

I had seen Tinto when walking one day, so my fiancée and I decided to walk there for ice cream. We ended up walking over a mile to get there,(phew!) and we had high hopes. Unfortunately, we were underwhelmed. I got a double scoop cone with ginger and strawberry, and she got a chocolate milkshake. I was quite happy with my ice cream, but her milkshake was watery and tasteless and my biggest qualm was that for a milkshake and an ice cream cone, it cost $ 15. That was insane to me. No ice cream is worth $ 7 a piece.

The food and service were great. The place is clean and the workers are friendly. My wife got the Avocado Smash with a berry tea and I got the Baked Eggs along with a Macchiato and both were delicious. The prices were right. The menu is small but I appreciate that because the items they offer(and that we’ve had so far) are excellent. We’ll be back here for sure.

Cute little place, but wish it was bigger to cater to people, who use their laptops /phones here. Plus I see a lot of people bring their children in sometimes. This is a coffee shop that offers treats kids enjoy. Could be a bit cozier. One time I was typing up a report here at least 3 people came in asking for ice cream. So… I guess the ice cream is popping lol. could be a bit cozier. They’re pricey but their Spanish lattes are on point. I always come back for them. I wanted to come back for the waffle but it always runs out by the time I get in. I don’t spend a lot of money on them I use the CUPS App in order to get it for a lower price. If you want details about CUPS and a code for a discount message me.

Stopped in around 9am on a Sunday and grabbed their solid Spanish Latte 12 oz for $ 3.75. Friendly barista, and might grab some of the Blue Marble next time on our next visit, as the pastry case didn’t impress. Beware the menu prices on the counter(where the menu also has many items crossed out) differs from the wall display for many items. Also be sure to ask for a loyalty card, as they didn’t volunteer one despite our purchase.

Solid iced coffee. Solid breakfast sandwich. Solid service. Just solid. Don’t go there. I like to be able to sit when I have breakfast there. I can’t if you go there. So don’t. Nah jk go have a nice breakfast and conversation.

Felt the need to write something since the last reviewer(Lori K.) appears to be one of those difficult to satisfy customers. I love this place. The staff is friendly, the food(even though it is a coffee shop) is good, and the coffee is amazing. Tinto does not market itself as a restaurant. So don’t expect multiple brunch options, especially as the day passes. You can expect fresh pastries, meat, breads, and sandwiches assembled with care. Although Tinto has rules re: laptop use posted, they’re rarely enforced. Which is a GOOD thing. I’m guessing the rules are only enforced when someone or a group takes advantage by setting up their office in the coffeeshop. While there are children at Tinto’s on occasion, its not a play pen or a big after school destination. But even if it were, what should they do — prohibit kids! Thankfully, they don’t, and parents are welcome with their kids to Tinto in the afternoon for some of Tinto’s delicious, creamy ice cream. Finally, as with any restaurant, if you ask the chef to accommodate you’re dietary needs, don’t expect the same quality as the original recipe. For example, if you order a «bread less» sandwich, don’t expect it to look and taste the same as it would with bread. And don’t take a misleading photo, without explanation, after you pick at it.

I came here for brunch on a Saturday around 10. There aren’t many places in the area open before 11 so I was pretty excited about… well, eating. When I arrived, I noticed that Tinto was more a coffee shop than a restaurant. There are a bunch of connected smaller tables that make up 3 longer tables each holding 6 people. About half of the people were drinking coffee with a laptop and the other half were eating food. The first long table had 3 tiny signs stating that these tables were only for guests sitting to eat. No laptops allowed! There was woman who was hogging 2 seats while she stretched out with a laptop. There were also 2 screaming children at that table while their grandfather waited in line to get coffee and donuts. First impression? Tinto doesn’t follow their own rules. Since there is no table service, we stood on a line and waited to order. We quickly found out that the more hearty breakfast options are only available during the week, which was a total downer. After waiting about 10 min, the woman on the laptop got up and I was able to sit down with my brunch date. I’m not sure if the staff typically cleans the tables, but on this day, they didn’t. I put the previous customer’s dirty dishes and cups on the counter and got comfy. She ordered an egg and cheese sandwich with a latte and I ordered the egg, sausage & cheese sandwich without bread and a chai latte. I’m sad to say that nothing we ordered was all that wonderful. Both the chai latte and latte tasted like hot milk. Her sandwich was«fine» with a slight piece of cheese and smear of egg and my eggs were overcooked. The sausage tasted like it was frozen and warmed in a microwave. A bunch of people came in just for donuts, so maybe those are something worth while. I didn’t try them so I can’t say. If you’re looking for a quick bite/drink in the area, it may be worth it to wait until 11 so you can choose a different place.

This is a lovely neighborhood café. They have great coffee and delicious pastries. I have yet to try the other food, but it looks really good. The staff is always super friendly! Also, a thing I’m always happy about, is they have coffee punch cards. :)

Srsly good coffee & great service. Bright space/good lighting and room to sit and do work. I’ve had the bacon, egg, and cheese on numerous occasions cause it’s super tasty on toasted French bread. But I would be here waaaay more often if it wasn’t like $ 6.50 or $ 6.75 for a sandwich that seems like it includes one poached egg, one slice of cheese, and one slab of bacon. I always feel like I’m getting half of what I should be getting in your typical BEC, yet I’m paying the same amount or more money than I normally would. Because it feels so skimpy, I usually feel the need to add something else to the sandwich, which immediately ups the price even more. If this wasn’t the case, I’d be here more.

I went to this restaurant. They had a nice menu selection. The only problem was they had ran out of a bunch of stuff on their menu. And the restaurant had just opened for the morning so that was kind of surpising. Sounds like they were unprepared to serve guests. The place also had a strong smell of bacon. If you love bacon I guess that is not a problem. But it wasn’t appetizing for me. Staff was friendly and awkwardly tried to console me for their lack of menu items by asking if I wanted to order coffee.

I LOVE this place. Without Tinto, I would probably hate my neighborhood a little more, but this beacon of happiness is always here for me when I need it. I used to be skeptical of cold brew enthusiasts, but here, it’s delicious. It makes me feel pleasantly happy and awake, all while satisfying my caffeine craving. Their lattes are perfect: thick froth, slightly sharp espresso balanced with the right amount of milk. The food here is really fantastic. I am a huge fan of the breakfast sandwich. My only gripe is that oftentimes, the baguette is really hard… I usually end up ripping up the roof of my mouth. Last time I ordered it, I asked if I could get the sandwich on another kind of bread, and the sweet guys who work there happily made my sandwich on multigrain bread(which actually tasted way better!). I love it when places will grant my off requests.(Granted, it wasn’t busy at the time I visited and made my special request.) We’ve also had the mozzarepa and baked eggs – you can’t go wrong. The only thing this place has going against it is the small seating area that often gets full of hipsters working on their novel or what looked like astrophysics homework. On my most recent visit, I noticed the owners had put up little cards designating brunch seating only, no laptops. I appreciate that.

If, like me, you’re a morning person, it can be tough to find a weekend breakfast spot in Crown Heights that’s decent AND open before 11 a.m. Enter Tinto: this little spot has a nice selection of breakfast dishes including breakfast sandwiches, «mozz-arepas,» baked eggs, and granola. The most popular plate, according to the staff, is the breakfast sandwich. Well, mine definitely was nice. The baguette was fresh and toasted perfectly, and the cheese was sharp. The only criticism I’d offer is that the sandwich could absolutely have used more egg. If you’re not a sandwich person, I’d recommend the granola. I ordered it as a side to the breakfast sandwich, but, to my surprise, it was a huge portion given the price. The quality was excellent. It offered a really nice yet subtle combination of flavors: the granola itself had pumpkin seeds in it, and the yogurt had a little bit of honey added to it. The fruit(strawberry, banana, cantaloupe) was very fresh. All in all, Tinto is a small little place that uses simple ingredients to maximum effect. Come here one-on-one with a friend or your significant other; enjoy some coffee and a simple(but very tasty) breakfast.

What a nice start to my day! The guy behind the counter who looks to be the owner greeted us with such enthusiasm. Well, good morning to you, too, sir! After getting a preview of what the menu looks like from Unilocal,we jumped straight into ordering our breakfast. A couple of sandwiches and the baked tomato and eggs. It’s a nice, comforting food with a twist. The cheese and sausage sandwich was delicious and filling, similar with the avocado sandwich. It filled us up until well after ‘lunch’ time! The baked tomato and eggs could use a bit more seasoning, but when you’re in the mood for a milder flavor — this is the perfect choice. The coffee is also delicious. Milk’s steamed well and served with a sweet espresso! * Edited for missing words

I went here a couple weeks ago to try out their cold brew that everyone on here raves about. They are not lying. It’s unbelievably delicious — not to mention reliable, affordable, and always served with a smile. If only they had a location closer to my office or apartment…

Goodness the youngster working behind the counter was the nicest, sweetest, most helpful guy with such a sunny personality; made the experience great! The restaurant was pretty barebones and straight forward and the coffee ice cream was pretty good. The ambience was lacking but the kids personality totally made up for it.

Small but mighty, Tinto is a great place in Crown Heights to stop in for a coffee and quick breakfast. Great cold brew and espresso. Plus, their sandwiches are killer: I has the tomato, cheese and egg and my boyfriend had the breakfast sandwich. They were served on super fresh baguettes, with Vermont cheddar and perfectly poached eggs, neither runny not hard. Honestly, the eggs were so creamy it was like butter. I highly recommend any sandwich with those eggs!

An unassuming hole in the wall, this place is a true coffee gem. Incredibly friendly service and conversation from the barista and a top 3 of my favorite cold brews, this place is doing it right. The service, quality, and friendliness make up for bare bones interior. I wish it felt a little more like a comfy coffee shop, but I think its current minimalistic appearance lends to its quirkiness. It has 3 long tables and a few outlets for those who like to work in a coffee shop and secure wifi, just ask the barista. The cold brew is fantastic. Not too bitter, very flavorful and naturally sweetened. From someone who is currently working on his own cold brew recipe, Tinto’s has nailed it. I’ll definitely be back here the next time I’m in the neighborhood. Stop in and say hello!

The Good: Excellent coffee — Seriously, one of the best cold brews I’ve ever had, and I drink A LOT of coffee Great selection of pastries — from good bakeries too Nice, minimalist ambience The OK: The service can be slow — I’m not sure all of the baristas know what they’re doing The prices are about 10% higher than I would expect. Nothing terrible, but also not a bargain.

Tinto is a cute, clean and cozy place buried in between a midst of urban stores and take out restaurants. Keep your eyes alert so you don’t miss out on this sweet café. Drinks are cheap and the mocha coffee was warm and well made. The guy behind the counter was friendly and super accomodating. The entire place is well kept with even the bathroom being clean. Fast wifi and a good number of outlets. Check it out!

I’ve lived 2 blocks from this establishment for 7 months, and I ate at Tinto for the first time this past weekend(discovered it by Unilocaling«good brunch spots near me»). I feel like I found heaven… to be fair, I went at 10 am so the crowd wasn’t yet formed, so I can’t lament about wait time. The proprietors(Oscar and another guy with longish hair) were so sweet and kept checking on me when I told them it was my first time at Tinto. The breakfast sandwich? Best I’ve ever had. And I’ve had a LOT of breakfast sandwiches. I suggest getting the tomatoes and avocado even though it’s extra, but the sandwich just by itself is phenomenal. Friend had the Mozz’arepa which he chose because he’s gluten-free, and we were pleasantly surprised by how delicious it was(especially me because I rag on everything GF). The coffee? I had cold brew, friend had hot. Cold brew was so good, I was a bit shocked. The prices? So freaking reasonable. I’m going away this weekend, and my only sadness about leaving is that I can’t go to Tinto til NEXT weekend. I feel a bit bad that I can’t say anything negative, because I’m not sure how helpful this is for Unilocal readers, but I can’t help it. Tinto, I’m sprung.

I was slightly intimidated by the hipster/gentrificated atmosphere of Tinto’s when I first stepped in, but the friendly proprietor and the large windows looking out to the street eventually put me at ease. Traveling to Brooklyn for the first time, we stayed in the neighborhood and walked over here for breakfast on our first day. My travel buddy and I were impressed by the clean, minimalist décor as well as the lovely aroma of coffee. I had the poached egg, tomato, and cheddar breakfast sammie. My friend had the eggs benedict waffles. We enjoyed it immensely. Be prepared for a decent wait time. The food is worth the slowness, and you can enjoy watching the colorful neighbors with a strong cup of coffee while you wait. Ignoring the hipsters also helped.
