Budae Jigae and Dak Galibi! Came with 4 guys and the seating is set for more like 2 – 4. Come in through the back door. When we sat down we only had the Korean menu(can’t read Korean.) but the server was super nice and got us an English menu. Her English wasn’t the best but she’s willing to explain everything to us and was helpful with our orders. The Budae Jigae was great. We got the 2 lunch specials and each comes with a rice. Spicy and had sausage and deuk, ramen, and kimchi. We also got the medium dak galbi which was bomb! It was spicy and sweet and comes with 2 bowls of rice. That has udon, potato, cabbage and chicken. Banchan was a good addition to it all too It was all super delicious, spicy and sweet. Ended up with some leftovers. Would definitely come back :)

Dakgalbi is one of my favorite Korean foods, but it’s so hard to find a good place around here that has it. I came here because someone recommended it, and I think it’s really really good! The lady gave us free budaejjigae as a service too(which is what they’re known for)! They also have other variety of choices on their menu. Definitely coming back here for more and to check out their other menu.

I really like how I can come with all my friends and we can eat together. The is really good and serves a lot of people. The is super recommended for people who are meat eaters. Great to visit on a cold rainy day. They have nice service! If you rate on Unilocal, they give you service!

My friend and I were craving Korean army stew(boodaechigae) and were in Buena Park, so we hunted through Unilocal to find a place. We finally decided on this restaurant since it had the best reviews. So, there’s a stigma when it comes to Korean food in OC compared to Korean food in koreatown in LA. Oh boy, this place solidified this stigma. The boodaechigae was not very good. They had beans in the chigae(soup in Korean), low quality American sausage and was pretty greasy. The side dishes were just okay and the pickled cucumber was a little too fermented(tasted a little sour). I’m pretty disappointed. I feel bad leaving this review since the lady was really nice, but it just wasn’t good…

I absolutely love this place. I’ve come here countless times for their amazing budaejigae or army stew. This place is easily my favorite spot for yummy Korean comfort food. The lady who runs this restaurant is so friendly and always greets us with a smile. There is always an open table no matter what day or time you decide to show up and the service is always great! The food here is delicious and it’s sure to leave you satisfied. Highly recommend this place if you are in the mood for a warm stew or hot sizzling plate!

Instant noodles in my korean soup. OMFGTHATSBRILLIANT! budae jjigae — yah. WTH. I don’t think i’ll ever understand korean. But it had veggies, hot dog, and well. not when i had it because i was on a diet. but INSTANTNOODLES. MAN it looked good. Overall the broth was tasty, not salty, but definitely not bland. Just right. I don’t know what exactly it’s supposed to taste like because i’m not korean. but if i’m in the area again i’ll definitely be back. Make sure to ask for the english menu!

I rarely write reviews, but I have to say something about this place. It says they specialize in Budae jjigae, but its one of the worst I ever tasted… so bland and no flavor what so ever. I think plain shin ramen would have tasted better. I almost asked for the soup base packet. Also, there was like less than 7pieces of pork in the jaeyook bokum(spicy pork) and this also lacked flavor. The spicy mackerel was not even cooked all the way… The bulgogi that my nieces ate had a weird chemical after taste. All the dishes are way overpriced for the amount of food. And the service was not even all that great(there was only one other table occupied besides us), but the owner/server was no where to be seen and we had to keep calling them from the back. I will not be returning here and I would not recommend this place to anyone.

Not as good as BDJG I’ve eaten in Korea but it was okay. However, I can tell the ingredients are low end. Had a bit of a headache after eating. It’s not anything I’m in a hurry to return and eat again. 2.5 stars.

Shady location but dont let that stop you from coming here. Plenty of parking with entrance through the back. Ordered boodaejjigae for 2($ 25.99). Nothing crazy but nothing bad either. It includes spam, sausage, ramen, tofu, and like 10 pieces of rice cake. I’ve had better boodaejjigaes for the cost. Also comes with side dishes(4 kinds). Overall, it was an OK dinner. I’m glad I tried this place at least once but would probably continue to look for better places.

Went for lunch with my friend. We got dak gal bi. It was kinda bland and I wish it was spicier, but it was still good. The medium is enough for 2 people to share. The boodaejjigae is apparently very popular so I plan on trying that next time I go.

Military base soup is the best I’ve ever had. And I’ve had plenty Boo-dae jjige in Korea and Ktown in LA. Choon-chun dak galbi(spicy chicken) is sweet n spicy. Medium was huge, enough for 3. Service was great. I love their handmade dumplings. I get frozen mandoo(dumpling) and make mandoo soup at home.

DELICIOUSFOOD! My friends and I killed the boodaejigae(aka. Army soup) & a chicken dish as well(I can’t recall the name in Korean but I’ve posted the pictures) the boodaejigae is a must try… But this chicken one I tried tasted really great too. The chicken was very tender and juicy and the best part. ITHADYAMS with the thicker noodles! It was my first time trying something other than their famous boodaejigae this time and I’m very ready to go back to try more of their other dishes as well! I highly recommend taking your friends & family with you too

Looks like a small mom & pop joint but the food is great. I had the boodae chiggae and it was soooooo good. Food comes out relatively quickly and the restaurant is really clean. I was already sold by the food, but will definitely be back because of the service. The owner/waitress(?) who was running the place was so sweet and attentive.

This place feels like a relative’s home or something lol Pretty small place and almost everyone is paying attention to whatever is playing on the TV. Two of my friends and I ordered boodaejjigae and they give you a generous amount! There’s spam, sausage, ramen, rice cake, kimchi, and more, and it just tastes like home food. The prices are great and food is super delicious!

Mom and pop owned restaurant. Very limited seating. Food: budae jjigae. That’s all you should order here. This is their specialty and everything else i ordered wasn’t that good. The budae jjigae is salty so if you prefer bland flavor this is not the restaurant for you. Staff: –1 star. Understaffed. I’ve only been here when the owner is working. Besides the cook she’s the one waiting tables and becomes overwhelmed. Sometimes you have to wait a long time for the food, sometimes it comes out quick. hit or miss. Atmosphere: I see middle aged Korean males come here often to drink soju. I admit that the budae jjigae and soju go well REALLY well together, but the lighting in this place is SUPERBRIGHT and not the best place to drink with your buddies. Come here for the food then go 2cha somewhere else.

When you open a business, especially a restaurant, you have to start off with your arms swigging and fight for your dear life. With so many Korean restaurants competing to be King of Buena Park, competition is quite stiff. The previous restaurant closed down not too long ago. I ordered the house specialty, which was the army stew aka buddae jiggae. It’s a favorite dish of many because of the heartiness and robust flavors. Think of it as a kimchi stew with not a lot of kimchi, but enhanced with proteins, like a pizza that’s meat lover’s style. What I don’t comprehend, is that all the servers were cleaning or doing their own duties in the back while mine and two other tables were occupied. They didn’t come out until I had to get their attention. As a server, please make your rounds and ask if everything is alright. I had to wave my arms for more water, asked for more ramen noodles, asked for the check, and asked to take the check! I want to change the culture of the Korean restaurant service. It’s on my tag line for crying out loud. I want to start a movement and stand up for my fellow second generation Koreans. Service here wasn’t rude, but non existent. I wasn’t surprised, but rather annoyed and disappointed. Despite all that, and you enjoy or want to try the army stew, come before the promotion ends. They have a 3 serving deal for the price of 2 servings for $ 23.99. But extra ramen is $ 2.00! What a price hike! Again, we are in Korea Town Buena Park, make the prices competitive! I could walk here, but I don’t find a reason to.
