My first time here. It’s a sit down place and not the turo turo type. Very nice and clean. The price is affordable and the food is good. I will certainly return.

Hit or Miss Tonight, we ordered 2 Beef mami and pancit canton and both were too salty. We could not even sip the broth of the mami. I guess the cook is a smoker — I can tell when food get salty like this that the cook is a smoker. Taste buds become insensitive. Hope I am wrong. Fried chicken was good. This is the only one we finished.

Best Filipino Restaurant I have tried! Their Savory Chicken is delicious, and the sauce is the best!

If I ever helped my mom open up a Filipino Restaurant, it would probably be really similar to Maria’s Kusina. Soon as I walked in, it feels very familiar. The layout is very simple. It’s in a strip mall. So it’s not huge. A real small sit down restaurant. Pull up a seat or two if you’re with friends or family. And let me tell you what to order. I’ve been here a few times now and I keep coming back. MENU// Pork Sisig. Their version of this classic dish is served on a hot sizzling plate. Add an egg and it basically pork and eggs heaven on a plate. It’s simple but it hits the spot every time. Not overly oily, but it will be fried so don’t go über healthy on me now and puss out. It’s worth it. This for less than $ 7. WTF. Garlic Fried Rice. Get two servings you cheap skate. It’s a must. Breakfast? They got it covered. I’ve had their Tocinolog. Nothing special, but I’m just excited they had it. Way better version than the ones you get at Chow King. This is home cooked style. Get some ketchup and you’re set. Can’t really complain. It’s Tocino. I’ve also had their pansit canton and bihon. I’m a very picky eater when it comes to pansit. My mom’s fault. But this was legit and surprisingly very familiar. I think that’s the magic of Maria’s Kusina. Everything will remind you of home cooked Filipino food. The flavors were balanced. Not too salty and not bland at all. Get either one if you feel like pansit. SERVICE// Really really great service. This is huge since Filipino restaurants are notorious for bad service… sorry, that’s just from experience. But I deal with it because of the food. And Maria’s is really stepping up and bringing back that Filipino hospitality vibe. Every time I come here with my wife and twin boys, I feel like I’m visiting a relative’s house. So welcoming and very friendly. It’s a nice feeling. SUMMARY// SO. To summarize. Do you want healthy food? Yes?.. then get the F out. Now. With that said, Maria’s Kusina isn’t really unhealthy, they just serve Filipino food. Food that is comforting and familiar to any Filipino. I thank you for this Maria’s. Salamat po.

I love this place. I was there earlier and they have new desserts. I got the Tart for dessert and yuuuummmmmyy, never tasted this kind of tart before coz it’s not just the common custard kind of tart but theres a certain twist to it. I highly recommend it.

Family style servings for single serving prices! We ordered chicken and wonton mami, lumpia Shanghai, and pancit palabok. It was all so good and portions were generous. It was actually more than two people could finish, which made me sad because it was tasty. The next time we visit Disneyland or Knott’s Berry Farm, we will definitely stop by again. Wish I was around Thanksgiving to try the savory Turkey!

It’s a very simple place. Waitresses are friendly. Food is yummy for the price. This is our2nd time here and had beef mami(this is what we came here for). Their siopao is tasty and good sized as well.

Their crispy pats was really good and affordable. Their chicken on the other hand was very dry. Maybe it was just an off day but everything else is fine. Reasonable price, friendly people, and easy parking.

I went to this place during my lunch break and ordered their Bangus Sisig by phone. However, when I picked up the order, they gave me fried fish instead(I did not find out until I’m back to my office). The fried fish is just okay and plain. They gave some sauce on the side which makes it a little better.

Let me start by saying that I am not a fan of Filipino food… Unless it’s food from my father-in-law’s kitchen… With that said, I am in love with Maria’s Kusina. This is NOT a fast food place where the food has been sitting under a heat lamp for hours. Maria’s Kusina is a sit down, made to order restaurant where the food comes to the table piping hot! The husband loves their Crispy Pata and their Diniguan. I love their Bangus Sisig(Milk Fish — shredded with no bones)! NOBONES!!! With bits of onion for crunch(and Serrano pepper slices on the side)… I feel like it’s a healthy choice… Did I mention NOBONES in the fish!!! I’ve tried their Crispy Chicken which is also quite good. Their Pancit and Lumpia are also decent, but the Bangus Sisig with NOBONES has made me a lover of Maria’s Kusina. I will be back for more… Which makes the Filipino husband happy.

The savory Chicken and Milk Fish is perhaps the best I’ve ever had outside of a Filipino home cooked meal. The price and the service were all 5 star. This place is a must try is you enjoy Filipino cuisine!

this review will be based on what I ordered to go. it consisted of the bangus sisig, pancit malabon, and lechon kawali. the bangus sisig lacked a little vinegar but still good! just add it yourself. the lechon kawali was good and crispy. the only thing I didn’t like about this was the sauce they gave to accompany it. they added something to it to make it different but some good olé mang tomas sauce would be much better. now for the pancit malabon. this dish was horrible! no flavor and way too wet. how is a restaurant with the word«panciteria» in the name going to serve such a bad dish? I’m not even going to compare it with Manila Sunsets malabon because there’s no competition. this dish was definitely a turn off. definitely won’t be coming back.

After our meal, I really liked the crispy pata and the savory chicken. The savory chicken somewhat reminds me of Max’s Chicken. I did like the whole fried bangus but I do appreciate it more when it comes from a smaller fish. I would return and try other things on the menu if I’m in that area again.

Found this location through Unilocal and they gave me a prompt service. The food is alright if you add a little bit of sodium to it. First time trying Philippine food

I haven’t been to this place for years because I thought it was still Mami King, but nope, it’s now Maria’s Kusina. Their food is great. If I wanted, I can still get a chicken/wonton soup here. Service is a lot better than Mami King and they quite a selection on their menu. My wife watches TFC while eating and loves it. We’ll be coming here more often.

YASSSS. I love this place, we’ve been going to this place for Filipino food for years. It used to be called Mami King but it’s owned by someone else now. They have the same variety of food. It’s very authentic and good. Their service is very nice, the waitresses are very friendly and quick. My mom is a regular here. So we’ve pretty much have tried everything. Never unsatisfied. We love their belly lechon, they typically only have it on Sunday’s, but special orders are also taken! Remember to order ahead if you want a party size. Prices are well set and reasonable especially with the quality of the food. :) Definitely recommend you to try it out for yourself!

Ok I got me a new place for pork sisig… wowowee! Put a dash of soy vinegar and it’s like eating sisig adobo lol. The pansit is bleeh(need new recipe hahah) but to top it off with homemade Buko Salad Popsicle. wowowee! Server was very nice, I seen couple flies flyin around but I didn’t bother me. Bathroom was clean and it’s not expensive at all so… Yes I would recommend to friends/family

«Oh Maria, Maria. You remind me of a hungry story. Cooking up like a Fil-Am madame. She’s livin her life just like a Food Network star.» — Parody of «Maria», Santana Maria’s Kusina, formerly Mami King several moons ago, is a Filipino comfort food eatery that serves all the traditional classics at very reasonable prices. Been meaning to hit this place up for a long while, I finally had the opportunity to do so for some red hot lunch action. Beef & wonton mami– I’m a soup fiend, and the beef & wonton mami did not disappoint. Thick, fork tender chunks of beef, 3 pork wonton, cabbage & green onions over thin noodles in a savory broth. Ahhhhhh, the soothing comfort of a warm bowl of soup. Hearty, rich & a great addition to your meal. Should be noted that a serving isn’t large enough to be shared, IMHO. Pancit bihon– A Filipino classic, Maria’s pancit bihon is just like how Mom makes it. Spritz some lemon over this bad boy, and it’s all good. It’s good fresh & hot, but I also like it cold as a leftover. I’m crazy like that ;p Pork sisig– This was the only downer during our visit. While the flavor was there, the pork meat wasn’t the tender, choice bits from the head of the pig. I found the meat to be rather tough. Also, the cook was a little heavy handed with the salt, as this dish was a tad too salty. Enough to give a pucker with each spoonful. Including those aforementioned gripes & having an additional egg on top costing an extra 50 cents, I can’t really recommend the pork sisig. Service was good! Our food didn’t take too long to come out, our waters were refilled & Maria, herself, even provided a bowl of complimentary broth to go with our meal. Ample seating, with ½ booth seating on the right & tables taking up the rest of the restaurant. 2 flatscreen TV’s with Filipino programming are available for your viewing pleasure. Parking is in a private lot at the Superior Grocers marketplace. Filipinos & Filipino food lovers unite! For those looking for some good Pinoy food, your search is over. Maria’s Kusina offers up all the favorites for not a lot. Not a fan of the pork sisig, you can’t wrong with their soup or pancit dishes. I’m anxiously awaiting coming back & having a go with the beef pares, savory chicken & just about all their pancit offerings. Highly recommend! NOMNOMNOMNOMNOMNOMNOMNOMNOMNOM

This is my new favorite go to place for a filipino food for a reasonable price. Driving from Downey to Buena park is of worth. Unlike other filipino food Restaurant their food is made to order, better than other pre-cooked food that is sitting whole day on food warmer. I always order their bangus sisig. It’s so good! I highly recommend it. :) Also customer service is excellent! Edlet is very helpful and very customer oriented! Carding(he works here) my new gym buddy invited me here and I’m glad he did. I will recommend this place to my friends and family. :)

Originally came in for the marinated chicken(which I’ve had before yum so good) but they had run out as it was right after Christmas. Marinating the chicken or whatever their process is takes time and we were initially disappointed until the owner told us her reason. Mila believes in the quality of their products so they don’t force orders out just to make a sale. They are proud of the food they serve and stand for quality which is a principle I truly respect. I wish they had a place like this in Vegas! So I ordered the pork sisig(they also have bangus [fish]) with the optional raw egg cracked on top right before serving. It comes out on a sizzling plate and the idea is to mix the egg while the plate crackles with fiery goodness thus adding a light coating of creaminess to the dish. Add a squeeze of lemon and one bite and kid you not you will forget your name. It is that good! The skin is perfectly crispy and toasted giving nice texture like pop rocks with every chew. there’s plenty of tender meat with hardly any fat. The onions, green onions, Thai chili’s(perfect heat that you slice yourself) heat and lemony creaminess of the piping hot juices is like a symphony or more like a marching band parading mouth. My dad says it is comparable to the best sisig Manila has to offer(he’s hard to please when food is not my mom’s cooking). The second dish ordered is the pancit canton. They brought out this huge dish that can serve 4 people piping hot as I like it. The ratio of veggies/meats with the amount of noodles is perfect. The sauce is plenty the way I like it(it can soak up on rice or better on fresh pandesal eaten at home because they don’t serve pandesal). At first I thought it was mediocre. Actually on the bland side but when you squeeze lemon on it… its like a magic marker revealing the hidden flavor written throughout the plate like poetry. I am salivating writing this damn review. We are planning on eating there tonight! As Bart Scott would say, «Can’t wait!»
