I really believe this place has the best slices around! I went to buff state and often found myself stopping in for 2 slices of cheese and pep with a drink for $ 5. I think 2 specialty slices like chicken finger(awesome btw) and a drink was $ 6. Can’t beat the slices… I’m a bigger guy and I leave this place full for $ 6-$ 7 you can beat that. The staff was cool too and very personable every time I stopped in. I really love this place.

Very upset about giving this review but i have to. Last week i got a large cheese and pepperoni and a single order of wings carry out. Drove all the way home to feed the kids. Come to find out the pizza dough was very raw. I had to turn on my oven and cook the pizza i just picked up. I called joe’s and i was told by a male worker(thats the way we make our pizza) i know thats not true because i eat there at least 2 times a week. Well at least i did before this happened. I dont play games when it comes to food. If i pay for a pizza and wings thats what i should get not raw food. Thats why these small business allways fail after a year or two because they dont care after a while. It was a good spot but im sure i will never go back.

This is my favorite pizza in Buffalo because it’s the closest to New York Style. The crust and the pizza to sauce ratio is on par with what can be expected from this type of pizza. My regular order is a slice of cheese pizza and a beef patty with cheese. There’s always a solid variety of slice options including white pizza and the slices are rather large. The chicken rolls are good(make sure to get a side of sauce), and the garlic knots are greasy and delicious. Their specialty pizzas are also delicious. They used to make a mean Sicilian but now you can only get it if you order a whole pie. The service is quick and the food quality is consistent. It’s a good place for lunch or a quick dinner.

One of the best slices I’ve ever had. I only really like New York style pizza and this place nailed it.

Stopped for a late bite with promises from the friends that came with me. We got there 20 minutes before closing and all they had available was slices, which is understandable but I think shutting everything off 20 – 30 minutes before closing is kind of stupid. However the pizza although wasn’t the best I ever had, it was really good! Each slice had a lot of flavor and with nice sized portions. I had a slice of BBQ chicken and the deep dish chicken finger pizza. The BBQ chicken had a surprising yet delicious spice to it, made it different than most BBQ chicken pizza that I’ve had before. Nothing really special about the deep dish chicken finger pizza but it was flavorful and delicious. Both slices were about $ 3.50 which is kinda expensive for pizza BUT with the taste and size it is worth it

Really good when we were here visiting from out of state. Clean place. Really helpful and friendly staff! Husband and I both got the special — 2 slices and a soda. Couldn’t even finish it. The slices are huge! Tasty too and the garlic knots are pretty amazing as well. Will be back next time I’m around.

Joes Pizza. New location in the City of Tonawanda. Same menu as Grant/Amherst. Some of the same staff. Huge NY style thin slices. Pie sauce is great. Ricotta base pizzas are excellent. Garlic knot’s A++. Had pasta tonight. Pasta anna with chicken and broccoli. Huge amounts of chicken and a thin tomato based sauce was great. Food always hot and fresh. Great place. Clean and friendly.

Had family visiting from LI and my Dad suggested Italian to go. We wanted something a bit more upscale than a strictly pizza joint but not a fancy sit down; Joe’s fit the bill. Online menu, print was too small to read, menu didn’t blow us away but we could work with it. Ideally looking for a dishes to share amongst 6 and a pie. The chicken parm description read: chicken fingers with marinara sauce and mozzarella cheese, to describe chicken parmigiana as, «chicken fingers» sounds gross in my opinion. We passed on that and went with the Rigatoni Alla Bella, Garden Salad, Calzone and a large cheese pie. Online menu indicates a lunch and dinner price. I called at 8:30 and was asked if I wanted the lunch or dinner portion. I figured lunch means it’s available at lunch. If you can get a lunch portion all day, it should be called a half portion, or smaller portion. Anyways, I asked how many people a dinner size of the Rigatoni Alla Bella would serve and was told 3 – 7 people, pretty large range, we had 6 people in our party and didn’t want to order too little or way too much. We ended up going with two orders of the dinner portion of the Rigatoni Alla Bella, as there was only a $ 3 price difference and wanted to be safe. I wanted to add grilled chicken to the pasta but was told it ALREADY came with chicken. Woo hoo. Well, so I thought. Here’s how it went down… Told the food would be ready in 25 – 30 minutes. Since my phone number was new in their system, they needed to call me back after placing my order to ensure it was valid. I liked this; efficient, professional, smart. We show up to Joe’s 25 minutes later, checked out the slices in the window and were underwhelmed by the selection. It was an hour before closing and the man assisting us noted their lack of variety and said he would whip us up a slice if we wanted to wait. No need. We already had a lot of food coming. I saw a broccoli cheddar and ricotta slice, so they«heated» it up for me and threw it in with our order. Food came to $ 55. Not bad for 6. When we got home, we noticed the Rigatoni Alla Bella dish wasn’t sealed properly so it spilled out a bit. The broccoli and ricotta slice was not heated up, as it was cold and unappetizing, needing to go in the oven immediately, along with the entire pizza pie and calzone. All of the food with the exception of the pasta dishes were luke warm at best. We showed up within the 25 – 30 minute time frame given to us so we were a little disappointed that we had to wait to enjoy our food even after it was brought home for us. The verdict on the Rigatoni dish was that a dinner portion feeds about 4 – 5 people as long as you have a slice of pizza on the side. If the pasta dish is all you’re consuming for dinner, I would recommend that it serves 2 – 3. The dish, however, indicated that it consisted of, rigatoni, chicken, and broccoli in a light tomato cream sauce and it that was false advertising. The sauce of the dish was indeed light and pretty tasty. The pasta was cooked really well but there was HARDLY any chicken. I mean, we searched and searched and found exactly TWOTEENYITSYBITSY pieces of chicken. Their was little broccoli in the dish too. I was annoyed especially since I had the idea to add chicken to the dish from the start. The broccoli and ricotta slice was pretty bland but good enough. Garlic knots were delicious but also luke warm. The small garden salad was actually pretty large and could had fed about 3 people. Now, we get to the pizza and calzone. Grease party. Get your napkins and be ready to dab away. After taking the calzone and pizza out of the oven, I couldn’t believe how much grease was oozing all over the place. It was wildly unappetizing. The calzone was boring. I really wished they had multiple calzone options on their menu, like one with chicken, broccoli, spinach, ANYTHING. Perhaps a build your own calzone option, I don’t know. They only accompanied the calzone with one teeny side of marinara sauce which worked but wasn’t anything special. The calzone was undercooked. The crust was too doughy, it needed much more time baking. I’m no pizza connoisseur but I know good pizza, actually I know great pizza and this wasn’t great pizza. For Buffalo, it was fine. The sauce was pretty delicious and the crust was okay, but still a little underdone for me. The problem was the grease factor and the buttery taste. Pizza shouldn’t taste like butter in my opinion. Each bite I took I was wiping my lips off because of all the oil and the aftertaste was a fatty buttery flavor. I’m tempted to only give 2 stars, but I thought the prices were reasonable, considering the portions and the customer service was friendly. Minor changes would have made a major difference; less grease and warmer food. There’s nothing like dining in and receiving fresh, piping hot grub, but I’ve ordered take out hundreds of times it can be hot. I’ll try this place again to see if it was a fluke.

was on a trip to buffalo, was hungry late at night and stumbled upon this pizza joint. ordered an 18″ pizza and 2lbs of wings for 2 guys and 2 girls. i don’t know how we managed to finish it all but we did. the staff is very friendly, and some of them i’m not sure if they were even staff or not or just friendly customers. but for closing hours there were quite a lot of «staff» there. they have a large selection of drinks, maybe because in canada our selection is much more limited and this is really a norm in the states, i don’t really know, but i had the Aunt Rosie’s Loganberry drink. which was quite good actually. The pizza was fairly light considering it’s pizza. and that’s because the pizza was so thin. I think we ordered a philly cheesesteak pizza or something. and they stated true to the toppings, i believe i made a comment that there was no tomato sauce on the pizza. the wings i believe we ordered in honeygarlic, and bbq. the bbq tasted like what u’d expect. the honey garlic, i dunno if honey garlic is a canadian thing but it tasted more like just garlic lol. the wings were good though. nice and juicy. place seems a little bit ghetto but im not from around there. otherwise it’s a nice pizza joint with nice people.

I think my husband and I finally found a pizza place we can agree on! Big slices. NY style for sure. Very good garlic knots. Loved them! The salad options are a little lacking. We will order from here again. I really liked the food. Showed up in a hour and it was warm!

What is there to really say about a pizza place? Joe’s New York Style Pizza is thin crust, has a great sauce to cheese ratio, and gets delivered right to your door. The large is definitely large, leaving plenty to be deliciously reheated(or not) for another day. The hubs and I have had delivery from here multiple times and even picked it up while out and about. The location is a lot bigger and nicer than what I was expecting, so it would certainly be a good place to take a group of people. When we want pizza, we want thin crust(we’re from Missouri, we like our crusts cracker thin), and Joe’s has been our saving grace. Love it, and definitely recommend it!

This place has some of the best slices I’ve had. The steak & banana pepper pizza is fantastic! Only problem I have is with their pepperoni. They’re just flappy and not as good as the pizzerias that have those awesome little crunchy grease cups. The crust is great and true to the New York style. Can’t go wrong by giving this place a shot.

Eat at Joe’s! No, not the crab shack chain, silly. It’s Joe’s Pizza and they serve delicious NY style pizza — they said they’re the only ones in the area who do it right — New Yorkers are awesomely modest as I am finding out! Actually, the guys who work here are super friendly and happy to talk with you as you pick up your order. I think jovial is the correct word to describe them. Granted I did play the ignorant southerner who’s never had NY pizza. I had them give me a lesson on the difference between NY style and Buffalo style pizza, the former being thin and crispy in a brick oven and the latter being doughy and cooked in a pan. So their pizza is cooked in a brick oven which I think is cool. Cool BUT Mister Pizza is still my favorite. Joe’s is now my second favorite. My friend and I destroyed a large pepperoni and bacon pizza(my special) and even tried some their BBQ wings which were pretty good as well. If you haven’t tried their pizza here, it’s a must. Special thanks to the woman at Rust Belt Books in Allentown who told me about it!

Ordered two slices of cheese pizza, two orders of onion rings and penne vodka and it was all really good! The slices are huge and the onion rings were crispy. I’m from the Bronx and this pizza was pretty good compared to back home. But nothing compares to back home! The garlic knots were also really good! :)

This is the best new York style pizza that I’ve ever had. very large portions. Toppings are tasty and perfect. We ordered the supreme deluxe with the hot peppers. It was super yummy. Also ordered the wings spicy yum yum again. They also give you a small bag of carrots. Which I can appreciate. Always could use a good veggie. If ever in the Buffalo area we would definitely been back:-D

Pros: This is the closest I have come, in Buffalo, to finding a pizza place that resembles back home(NYC). I am a huge fan of their NY style slices, their Deep Dish Buffalo Chicken pizza(I feel kind of bad admitting this, please don’t revoke my NYC resident card lol) and their Chicken Parmigiana. Most items on their menu are made to order which is always a big plus but if you are not a fan of waiting I suggest ordering ahead. Cons: I am a lover of all things garlic, that being said, I think their garlic knots need some tweaking. Do not get me wrong they are pretty good but they definitely have the potential to be better.

Some doomsday Bible Thumpers run this place, they are followers of Jesus’s Dad(no, not Jorge… Joseph!)… and they keep yelling out«the end is ny! the end is ny!» I told them, you’re spelling«ny» wrong, but they ignored me and continued to yell it. In fact they do this so much, that locals have decided to name this place«Joe’s ny pizza», for obvious reasons. Joe’s NY Pizza is pretty fantastic, and it’s also pretty popular. It’s facing sideways, in a strip mall next to Wegmans on the south side of Amherst Street, just across from the infamously infamous Sportsmen’s Tavern, where Sportsmen go to, well… do Tavernish activities and stuff. The slices are big, as are the crowds at lunch time. This seems to be a popular destination with cops, so if you are the kind of person who has been, shall we say, a bad boy or girl, then you might want to give this place a wide berth. Not a wide birth, which would just mean a lot of pain for you and then probably some stitches. One letter can make all the difference. I got a slice with pepperoni and sausage and I loved it. All the cops apparently loved their slices too. I’ve never seen more Buffalo cops in a shop that didn’t serve donuts. Burn. That wasn’t a suggestion that the pizza here is burned. It really isn’t. So much amazing pizza in Buffalo, since Buffalo is one of the best Pizza cities on earth. This place isn’t top ten, but it’s definitely very good and worth a try. Nom nom nom.
