Steak ‘n Shake

Rude management. Came in to counter to place a to-​go order. Greeted by a pink shirt female manager who offered to take my order. I started giving my order as she started typing at the computer. As I tried to order a second item, she abruptly interrupted me to start talking to an employee. She then asked the employee to come take over my order. The employee offered to help so I tried to complete my order. I tried to verify my order but the first part of order was unaccounted for so I had to start over. I was only ordering 2 meals. Mgmt tip: stop treating customers as just another interruption. You approached me and offered to take my order. Don’t bail on a customer interaction you initiated after (literally) 20 seconds.

My family and I went through the drive through tonight. Service was good, but they were out of the Dr Pepper my husband ordered and out of the Mac and cheese my kids wanted. They settled on alternative items, and we ended up with free fries when they realized that they put fries in our bags for the kids meals instead of the applesauce ordered. So it all turned out ok, but I would probably only go back during their half price happy hour for shakes and drinks from 2 – 5 am & pm on weekdays, or on the weekend when kids eat free.

Arrived tonight with a group and waited around for about 10 – 15 minutes. After listening to employees argue over who would seat us, a host came up to us and asked «what our problem was», to which we replied we were waiting to be seated. They told us although they were open 24 hours, they could not seat us even though there were only 3 other tables in the restaurant. Our group will not be returning after having people fight over who had to seat us, very poor service indeed.

This place is absolutely terrible. They messed up my order twice and I asked them for a refund and the manger said he doesn’t do refunds. They screw up and you pay for it! Do not go here. Terrible customer service.

If I could give 0 stars, I would. My husband and I went for lunch on Monday. There was a loud pitch beeping from the door alarm which I tried to ignore, but ultimately could not take, especially after the waitress didn’t bother to take even our drink order in over 10 minutes, so we decided to leave. Before doing so, we asked about the alarm and were told the general manager gad the only key and would not be back in town until the next morning, so it could not be turned off until then. Today, 3 days later, we were in the area again, so decided to stop for lunch. The door alarm was still going off, so they lost our business again. I have tried several times to call and complain, but they won’t answer.

This place is horrible with getting their food out on time. I’ve been here plenty of times and it’s never gotten better

Steak n Shake is lucky they’re so cheap or else I’d never come here. Worst service ever. If you’re in no hurry & not about to drop dead from starvation, by all means come eat here. But the service is SO painfully slow. The servers don’t even seem to care. Management is just as bad. If you complain to them, all they’ll do is brush you off. The only reason they are still in business is because the food is cheap & good & they are open ²⁴⁄₇. Horrible.

Food was same ol Steak ‘n Shake food. So no complaints there, but the service was awful!!! Took them about 15min before anyone even checked on us. Several tables that were seated after us had their food before we had our drinks.

Worst service I’ve ever seen in my entire life. We come in at 11:15 with a party of 6. Place is half empty. We’re just standing at the entrance.
11:40 we get seated but they make us split into 2 booths instead of cleaning off the big tables which have been empty and left since we came in.
5 parties get served before us that came in after us. 2 are bigger than ours.
12:00 they get our drinks.
12:15 they take our order.
I see the person that seated us behind the counter just sitting doing nothing the entire time. Someone else has to take our order for us. The person that’s taking the orders, a 3^rd person, stares straight at us but serves 5 other parties instead that came in after us.
So that’s an hour before we get our order taken in a half empty place.
Never. Coming. Here. Again.

Stopped in to eat before going to a movie at Mall of Georgia. Arrived at 6:10 with a party of 3 and got seated immediately and served by Brittany. She took our drink AND food orders, brought out the waters and the shake and disappeared. Never stopped by to update us on our order, check on us or anything. I guess 30+ minutes is standard service times. I had to find her at the pass thru as she was pulling food and asked her if that was our order. She said no, so I gave her money for the shake and told her to cancel my order at 6:45 to be able to at least attempt to make the movie time. Manager was clueless, as he kept bussing tables and seating new customers. 2 bad health scores and most recent posting was February 2015, should have tipped me. Never go there again. What a shame, as the one in Snellville is so much better run.

Stood at the hostess station for five minutes with a multiple groups of people. The wait staff just stared at us, walked by eye, and obviously made eye contact, but preferred to ignore us. I like steak and shakes food but customer service here has been on a downward spiral for a while now

From California, so burgers — I’m pretty picky. Personally, I enjoyed the price, unbelievably cheap. The burger I got tasted a lot like a fast food resturant back home. The milkshake, was a little on the sweet side. Service was okay for what it was, our girl had to ask our order about 4 times. Place didn’t scream fast food, ambience similar to a resturant feel, but definetly fast food quality food. Wouldn’t mind it if I was super hungry in the middle of the night, or hung over.

Came in on a Sunday evening, stood there for nearly five minutes waiting to be seated. We were never approached to be seated, despite the several employees hanging around the register chatting, and the ones just hanging out by the soda machine. We eventually just left and went through the drive through, which also took much longer than it should have.

I went thru the drive thru here yesterday and got the jamacain (i know i spelled that wrong i think. But cant think of how 2spell it right now) jerk burger and fries for $ 3.99. You can get seasoning on the fries which saves them. Those fries are the saddest excuse for a fry i have ever seen. Neway this is about the burger. It was really fast. And let me say i have went 2 burger 21 and gotten 2 burgers and 2 fries for $ 30+ a couple months ago and it was not even as good as this. So next time go 2steak in shake and save money. But this burger had some kinda sauce and pepper jack cheese. And this steak and shake burger was the best burger i have had in months. Def coming back soon.

Went there for dinner tonight. Worked late and didnt have the energy to cook at home.
Pros.fed a family of 5 for $ 20.
Cons​.as stated by everyone else the place could use alot of cleaning. The service is less than tolorable. And it seems people that work there lack common sence.
It wasnt busy, maybe a total of 4 tables ocupied when we walked in. They asked how many, there were 5 of us. They walked around for about 5 min looking for a table for us, (there were several tables that needed to be bussed, and a plethora of booths that were already set up) I told them we could take one of the booths because my daughter is 4 and does not take a whole lotta space. The guy walks over to a booth, looks at it, turns and looks at the tables that have been put together to seat about 8 people with all the crap from the people that just left and says lets just wait till they clean up the tables. After another 15 min they seat us. Mind you when we sat at our table i looked over to the booth that i had suggested earlier and it was clean. I guess we exceeded the 2 person max for a 4 to 6 person booth.
We waited for another 10 min b4 our waitress showed up. She was very sweet but not very attentive. She took our drink order and when she came back she asked if we were ready to order. My wife looked at her and sarcastically asked, «are these your menus» refering to the little flip cards they leave at every table. She apologized and got us our menus. About a minute later she comes back. Are you ready to order or do you need a few minutes? Really! I just got the#$@& menu. We asked that she give us at least 5 more min. She took our order and the food came relatively quickly along with bill. While we were eating she came by about 3 times to check if everything was ok.
When we had finished our meal we discussed getting shakes. (I saw the light on across the street for krispy kreme, i went there). I left my wife and son there and took my daughters to get some hot fresh donuts and gas up at sams for $ 1.98. On my way out i stopped to let the waitress know thst my wife needed a menu to order some shakes.
I was gone for about 20 min. When i went back to pick them up they had just gotten there shakes. My wife says they waited for 10 min b4 anyone, and not our waitress approached them. And to top it off, because she had waited for so long they asumed that it should be to go. If we had wanted it to go, we would have sat through the drive through…

The only reason this place gets a 2 is because I love the food. I expect Steak and Shake to be slow, but not that slow! It took 15 – 20 minutes to get our drink order. The girl seating us seamed annoyed that we came in and made her work. The waitress looked like she needed a shower and never looked at us. I didn’t get the «new» seasoning on my fries that I ordered, nor did my daughter get her shake. To top it all off… this particular Steak and Shake needs a good scrub down.

always enjoyed the food here. Sometimes it’s a bit crowded inside so wait times are horrible. But the drive thu is always open and pretty fast considering your food is made to order. I love thier shakes and anytime I want a fast burger I go through the drive thru.

This was a Disaster from start to finish. First off it was super crowded and there was a 30 min wait. OK I can deal with that, the place was a mess inside, I guess from being so busy and not having time or staff to clean the place back up for the next customers.
But the worst part was that both my kids ended up sick that night, and the rest of our party was not impressed with anything we ate.
Ok yes I know its not supposed to be a Bones Steak House Hamburger, But I have had and enjoyed many Steak n Shakes in multi states and this was by far the worst.

Love this place great burgers and milkshakes simply original stuff other then the fries they where a little to cold but the service was amazing.

I don’t understand what’s going on. Maybe it’s because everyone thought it was the end of the world and suddenly don’t give 2 sh*ts anymore lol. Came by last night because my best friend was in town and Steak&Shake is one of our traditions.
The place wasn’t too busy, there were plenty of clean /​empty tables, and a good handful of employees walking around. So then. why did every one of them ignore my small group of 3? One girl walked up to where we were, to grab some napkins, to wipe down a table before she came back to us and seated us at the table she JUST wiped down (which was still dirty).
Our waitress was cool though. We had eaten earlier, so we only got milkshakes and my orange float — got a strange reaction from her, and everyone who saw her walk it over to me, but it’s the ISH. :)
