Just finished getting my haircut and I must say WOW! Nuhad did an amazing job not only taking the time to listen to what I want but to actually bring it to life I couldn’t be happier with my new haircut! The vibe of Impulse is very welcoming and friendly, this will definitely be my go to spot.

I have a short, precision cut and Flora is the absolute best stylist I have had in the last 20 years. I have never had a bad cut from her. She is the sweetest woman and excellent at what she does. If you are looking for a new stylist, try her. You will be so glad you found her! I love George too. Although he has never cut my hair he is very friendly. :)

I have been coming to George for 7 years for extensions. I get the micro bead extensions done with him every 4 months myself am a hairdresser so I’m extremely picky when it comes to my hair. Let me tell you, he does by far the most amazing hair extensions I have ever done his work is flawless and unbelievable how quick he is I always put around 200 – 250 pieces and he gets me out of there in less the 2 hours. If you are looking for the best hair extensions in burbank this place is worth every penny. Thank you George for your years of satisfaction. I truly can’t imagine ever going anywhere else!

I’ve been coming to Jenny for my for a decade. Color, cut and blow dry on the regular. She has the best attitude and loves to work with hair. And what she can do with an updo is amazing. If I win the lottery, I’m hiring her full time.

George does a great job every time! His cuts are amazing and color lasts for weeks. His prices are reasonable and service is quick and professional.

I am shocked this place has such high reviews. This is a review based on a service I had done here in early 2011 which left me scarred for life. I had payed $ 300.00+(including hair/​labor/​tip– I also had to buy the individual hair beads separately at another location in order for the extensions to be put in) of my money to get individual extensions placed in. As I was getting the service my mother was present & so was the owners family & children. We all exchanged conversations as the service was being done & I genuinely felt like I could trust this place. During the process of the individual extensions being put in my head, I asked several questions such as «can I go swimming with my hair like this?» «Can I dye my hair?» «how long should I have these extensions in for?». ETC. (I swear on my Lord above) The ONLY response I got in return was «as long as you place your hair in a tight pony tail every night before you sleep & comb it everyday you can have them in as long as you wish»
With that said I kept my individual extensions in for about 8 months until I started feeling a ball of knots forming. (Keep in mind this is my first time ever having extensions placed in & I followed all advised directions impulse hair salon gave me for maintaining my extensions)
8 months later I came in to have my individual extensions removed. My entire scalp was in knots & the owner continued to yell at me saying «you were only supposed to keep them in for 3 months!» «You have to shave your head now, you can’t fix this!»
I went home in tears feeling like a 16 year old girl that was taken advantage of. My sister spent hours trying to get the knots out of my scalp. Fortunately, I went to another salon that was able to fix this horrendous ordeal. They spent 3 hours putting hot oils in my hair & torturously combing out the knots impulse hair salon was responsible for.
I lost 70% of my hair & my scalp bled for hours. I could not brush my hair nor use heat for weeks. Now, 3 years later thankfully my hairs condition is better after a lot of hair cuts & conditioning.
IMPULSE HAIR SALON, the amount of pain you caused me will forever scar me for life. You should intellectually advise your customers how to proceed when certain services are being done to them, especially when it comes to putting in extensions. You & your inexperienced AMATEUR business are an absolute shame. I will be sure to tell my horrible-​traumatizing experience that I endured at your salon to all of my girlfriends & new friends for many years to come. After all, word of mouth is what can make or break a business.

I called Flora to set an appointment after reading all the wonderful reviews on CITYSEARCH. She was very nice on the phone and was able to give me a same day appointment.
I asked her to do Ombré Highlights and she did a wonderful job. I got red highlights under my black hair and a cut. I had been to many places, but had never experienced such a wonderful and professional stylist before.
Flora was very nice and even gave me a free leave in conditioner because I had mentioned to her that my color tends to fade quickly.
I will definitely be back. I even purchased a groupon for my mom. Thanks Flora.

I was waaaaaay nervous about this because I want to keep my length but I had major damage in my hair.

My first time here and I really enjoyed the service. Nuhad did a great job on my color and cut and Flora did a great job on my eyebrows. Prices are very good for all their services.

This is the only place I go to for my hair. George, the store owner, is very friendly and a fantastic stylist. However, Nuhad is my go-​to girl. She is amazing. She helped me every time I’ve wanted to change up my hair style. I’ve been coming here for two years and I finally live close enough that its «convenient». I used to drive 20 miles from downtown just for a haircut here. And now I will not go to anyone else. Impulse gives a Hollywood A-​list haircut at a fraction of the price. I highly recommend. This place is fantastic!

Called 5 min before I arrived to see if they could take me in. They said yes and I was greeted quickly. Flora was fantastic gave me an idea of what to do with my hair. Friendly and quick. Pricing is super reasonable. I’ ll be back :-?

GiGi is the girl to go to at this place !! She not only knows what she’s doing but she also has great customer service skills. I have had bad experiences with hair salons n the area, a friend of mine told me to go see GiGi only !!! I told her what she wanted and she gave me her suggestions on what will look good on my skin complexion, and she nailed it ! Never going anywhere else ! Oh and she also does facials and waxing !!!

Impulse has been my hair salon for for 12 years. George and all the girls are fabulous and I have NEVER been happier! If you want a salon to go to where you feel at home and eat a great cut, blow dry, nails, massage, or a facial IMPULSE Hair salon is the place to be!!!

What a great place. George is a very talented hair stylist. There were many times when people stopped me at the mall and asked me about my hair stylist’s phone number. They loved the cut and the color. I wish I can post a picture with one great hair style from George. I am very lucky to find a talented guy like him.

I had a horrible experience in this salon! JUST HORRIBLE.
And even worst, FLORA gave me a BAD haircut.
1. I made an appointment @1pm. I got there around 12:55ish, but no one was in the salon. Strange… I thought… that was my first red flag but i ignored it… I thought maybe they were taking their lunch breaks? So I was sitting on the sofa waiting for someone to greet me. Then this lady, who was dyeing her hair, asked me why I was here and I told her I was here to get a haircut at 1pm. And then she said she’ll take care of me and I should sit in her chair. It turns out this lady who was doing her hair is FLORA the hairstylist. WHAT THE HECK!!! She has an appointment with a client in like 2 mins and she’s doing her HAIR!!! I thought she was a customer. By the way, I had to ask her who she was! She didn’t even introduce herself!
2. Washing my hair… She almost burn my scalp with hot water and she said,” I guess that was too hot.” WHAT!!! I got soap and water in both of my ears and it was not a relaxing experience. That was my 2^nd red flag…
3. my haircut… (I dont know why I’m still in this salon…)
I had a shoulder length hair and I told her to cut about an inch more in the back and leave the front little long. So she’s cutting and so on… and then she starts blow drying my hair and picks up her phone and starts talking on her cell while she’s doing my hair. WHAT!!! And of course, Flora burns my head with the blow dryer and she didn’t know this until I told her she’s BURNING MY HEAD. That was my 3^rd red flag…
While Flora’s doing my hair, a customer comes out of the waxing room or something and exits the salon, then as soon as she was gone, Flora starts bad mouthing and saying the lady was a liar and such… in front of me! how can you bad mouth a client that just left in front of another client (me!) that’s in your chair!!!
So by this point I’m kind of freakin out cause she’s cutting/​thinning my hair way too much. my hair is already thin and she didn’t need to thin it out. And I told her she’s cutting my hair way too much, but she said this is what I told her to do… omg… i had to just stop her at this point and plan my exit asap.
As soon as I was done with my hair I gave her my groupon and ran. She was not going to get a tip from me.
conclusion…
my front and back sides are completely uneven. cut off about 2 ½ inches off my back… the right side of my hair is thinner than my left (I figured this out when I went home). Now I’m waiting for my hair to grow back… So try to get a refund (if you can) if you have a groupon with this lady.

New Salon is beginning to become cutting edge & once all is in place this will be amazing.

They did great on my extremely dry and damaged hair. I chose two different colors and they mixed it. Result: amazing!
They took me in without an appointment (unlike BB&R who told me to come back another day) and was extremely nice. Everyone is friendly and easy to talk to.

I usually don’t write a review this quickly about a place, but my haircut from Impulse Hair Design is fantastic.
Nahud was my stylist. She is very knowledgeable and skillful. Not once did I feel uncomfortable with any cut she made. The salon is spacious and well lit with huge windows that let natural light in and create a calm atmosphere. I made an appointment in the morning and was in and out of the salon the same day!
The best part of my experience was the prices. First time customers receive 20% off and the prices are so good, you don’t even need the 20% off. I will definitely be going back!

This salon is all over great. George is a fantastic hairstylist as well as the rest of his team. very family oriented and has many many repeating customers for years !!! His prices are great especially for the quality of him work ! He does beautiful updos for all occasions … you will always walk out the door satisfied!

My family and I have been getting our hair cut at Impulse for years and years, and with almost complete satisfaction. As with every profession, sometimes even skilled beauticians have an off day, and there have been the rare bad cuts. The prices are jaw-​droppingly reasonable for the quality of services provided, and it’s a very friendly place with a welcoming, family feel.
Make sure to book an appointment with George, at some point. He truly sets a rare standard of excellence.
