Overall, I’m not a huge fan of Payless at this point in my life. When I was little(like 20 years ago — ack!), my mom would get stuff for me from Payless because we were on a budget, and Payless was sort of cheap back in the day. That is no longer true. It’s sort of like Target, where at one point, things used to be cheap and you used to be a touch embarrassed that you shop at Target 24⁄7. Now Target is way overpriced, just like Payless, which happens to be in the same shopping center, btw. The shoes are generally cheaply made Chinese stuff(and what isn’t these days, really), but the prices aren’t reflected accordingly. It’s like getting an $ 8 Walmart shoe, but paying like $ 20+ instead. In general, almost every Payless has friendly customer service, so that’s never an issue for me. It’s just that it’s way too expensive for what it actually is. Plus, this one is horrid on the weekends. The store isn’t crowded, but the PARKING is impossible. I hate the parking for this store. It’s just a clusterf*ck. Perhaps if I were desperate, I would head here to check out some«cheap» shoes, perhaps peruse the clearance section. I don’t hate Payless, I’m just extremely«meh» about it. It can be fun if you find stuff reasonably priced, but that’s not always the case. I rarely ever go here anymore. Their website is ok too. Three stars, max.

This store has a way better selection. Even though some of the stuff costs more than I’m used to paying they had a buy one get one at half off which made it a little better. The staff is nice and the location is good because they’re next to Verizon and Olive garden. Haha. I think I prefer this store now.

First, I was extremely impressed with the one and only woman they had working today. The young lady dealt with five at one time, and all with a smile.(Couldn’t get the Nordstrom Rack cashier to smile or say thank you). If I was still in retail(30 years) I would have offered her a position, with a really great salary. WOW

Always find some good daily wear flats here. There doing a closeout special this week come check it out. Bring your coupon. I made an online purchase with a store pick. Easy breezy to do. Only prob is d parking. Park across the way on Tilly’s side save yourself a headache.

This review doesn’t necessarily reflect my views upon this store 100%, but more is about the Payless online store and my disappointment with them, which does reflect on them as a whole. This store never had any of the shoes that I like in my size. Actually, none of the stores within a 30 mile radius do. My problem with this location is that there is always only ONE person working there. God bless the young lady that were here helping me, because she seriously tried her hardest to make everyone happy all at once. It was like a rush of people came in all at once and it was only her. So not fair! In any case, I had ordered a pair of shoes two months before an event that I needed to go to and requested that they be delivered to this store(since they charge so much for shipping! OMG!). I didn’t get an email from the company regarding shipping at all(I always check my spam on the daily), and when I went to pick them up, because UPS said it was delivered, the shoes were not there. Customer service is pointless because not only were they not helpful, but they do not deal with angry customers the right way. In any case, I was stuck wearing a pair of shoes that didn’t fit right, because I was desperate, and I have yet to receive my refund or a coupon that they said they would be sending for inconvenience(which really should be a coupon for a free pair of shoes that I had originally wanted! Needless to say, after I get the pair of shoes that I wanted, I will not be a Payless shopper ever again.

I love this store! I always score something great at a great price. And I’ve just figured out a great bonus. They have an online site. Duh! I am sure it has always been there but I don’t tend to buy shoes online, but now I do! I tend to find a shoe I like there but they only have one color or maybe the size is slightly off… now I go online and buy more colors. I even bought a couple extra pairs of a shoe that turned out to me AMAZING! So between the store and the online site I am in shoe heaven. This last trip I didn’t get shoes but picked up a some great bracelets, earrings and a purse.

Found a pair of boots I wanted online so I called them at 9a and asked them to hold them for me until I got off of work(which was around 6p). The girl was super nice and had no problem doing so(I’ve had places be total bitches because«that’s too long to hold an item»). They had them waiting for me and were super nice. The only thing that peeved me a little was that I had a 20% off coupon and the girl kept trying to push me to buy more stuff for a «better discount». I had to say no thank you at least 3 times. But, I totally get that it’s their job to push sales. The only reason I dinged them a star is because of the parking. It’s INSANE trying to get a spot there. You’re better off parking across the way near either Sports Authority or the Target side and walking across. Just becareful if you do park on the Target side, walking across can feel like playing a real life version of Frogger.

Swung by here this evening to pick up a pair of Airwalks that a girl at the office had on the other day. They are SUPER cute and as soon as I spotted them I thought they were the Keds I wanted awhile back that were sold out everywhere. She told me they were actually from Payless and that she had just recently purchased them so I quickly checked their website and sure enough they seemed to still be around. I was meaning to swing by the loca in Hollywood near my office but never got around to it, so this evening while at The Empire Center I decided to stop off in here to see if they had them, sure enough — there they were! I had just got a pedicure so I couldn’t try them on but now that I’m home it seems they run about a ½ size larger — so I’ll need to go back and exchange them. The staff was friendly and I had received an email today with a 20% off coupon code that I wrote down and forgot to bring with me — they didn’t have this code handy but they still gave me 10% off which was nice. Well, now that I need to exchange them — I’ll print the email and see about a price adjustment on my couple bucks :) This is Frugal Friday! Burger King for dinner, Payless for Shoes — I’m on a money saving roll tonight! Anyways, the parking is a cluster over here — I somehow snagged a spot right in front but I wouldn’t count on that — you are better off parking across the way and walking over than wasting your time driving around searching for a space. It is BOGO time but frankly, there wasn’t anything else I needed from Payless just wanted these little slip on canvas shoes.

BOGO! I love bogo time, I usually come here to buy my toddlers shoes. You buy one and get the second pair for half off. Great deal compared to the prices and quality the shoe is. A+ 5 Stars

As if I needed more confirmation that I have a shoe problem, yesterday pretty much hit the addicted nail on the head. Here we are, out and about, doing our holiday shopping for other people. Actually I was a tag along since my list was like 2 people and then stuff for myself of course, but yeah, the goal was OTHERPEOPLE, and when Aunny needed to get a white pair of cheapy sneakers for her mum, we figured Payless was a good bet. And so we found rockstar parking in an otherwise chaotic lot and walked in. She went straight for the white tennies, grabbed them and that should have been that. But NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO, shoey loo over here needed to at least… look. I mean, really, what’s the harm in that, right? Well, I’ll tell you what the harm is, yet another pair of shoes in my closet now. How can you resist a $ 14.99 pair of candy apple red patent ballet flats? You can’t, especially when they are super soft and broken in. Ladies, you know what I’m talking about here, with the pliable patent leather, that’s usually a 3 month, blister-ridden investment to break those suckers in, but these are already soft, so how could I not buy them!!! Oh well, one more pair has now joined my happy little shoe familia. I think I’ll name them Candy after their shoe whore of a mom :)
