If this is an example of good southern food, count me out. Mac and cheese was complete mush with watery cheese sauce(I hope it was cheese). Five chicken strips come with only one small dipping sauce. Dry, tasteless chicken. I asked for mild. I should’ve gone for spicy so perhaps there would’ve been salt added. No need to ever return here, nothing to see.

I actually enjoy the food that Popeyes chain puts out and most stores do a good job with the food and service, but not this place. What makes this place not someplace you want to eat at, is the amazing lack of ANY kind of customer service or communications Surly or incompetent order staff, long wait times for food are the norm and god forbid they are out of something or you want to customize an order — last time I was in I watched a customer suffer thru 15 minutes to get a order of just wings. The management team, which are always back in the kitchen and the cook back staff is too busy talking to make sure that food that is ordered anyplace other than drive up is being cooked. Its obvious that the ownership and management team have no commitment to staff training or holding on to staff. Last week they had a young girl at the register, that was on her 2nd day, obviously had received no training or was dumb as a post, it took her(with help) 10 minutes to get a simple order in, nothing custom a standard menu item and a extra side, and she still got the seasoning wrong. On the upside the store it self is normally very clean, bathroom usually good.

Food is ok for what it is, however, in recent months the service has gone completely down the tubes. We stopped in on a Thursday, about 01:00PM. Was told there was a 5 minute wait for wings. After 8 minutes I went up and asked about the food, and was told there’s no «mild» chicken, it’ll be 11 minutes for mild. I said that was never mentioned when I ordered, and asked what about the 5 minutes, and was told no 11 minutes.(There were no other customers) After 20 minutes and still no food I went back to the counter and they said it would be 8 more minutes. I asked for the manager, as I saw no one cooking anything. She came and asked what was the problem — she was completely unaware that customers were waiting for food that wasn’t being cooked. We got our money back and left — for good.

What kind of restaurant only plays one song? I went here and heard«somewhere over the rainbow» on repeat at least 20 times. worst Popeyes I’ve ever been to! Would not recommend

Really upset with this restaurant today. When I went to order my meal they were out of most of their side items. So after finally agreeing to get the same two side items I was not warned that it will take me thirty minutes to get my food. Well ok after thirty minutes I went back to the counter and asked where my food was and they told me they were waiting for the mild chicken, so my food still wasn’t ready. At this point I was not going to wait any longer so I just informed the cashier that I just wanted my money back. That took another five minutes because the manager was helping somebody else. Not once did she ever ask me why I wanted my money back nor did she apologize for the wait. She just asked if I wanted my food or not. I’m guessing that customer service is a lost art with this place and will probably soon be out of business. I know I won’t go back there again. It did sound like they were having a good time back there though, but oh well. The bad thing is I wasn’t the only one who had to wait that long and the other customer’s order was wrong after a thirty minute wait. I was just really disappointed.

Wish I could be nicer, as my standards for fried chicken is fairly high given what we have back home. But 4 stars for the décor, roominess and incredible value, as shown. good crisp, just the seasoning is a bit off. Chicken itself is good, same level as KFC but more fun to come here. Drive thru available. Clean washrooms. Heck, a 4 star for being a stand alone building, which means a lot more parking. On the Macy’s side.

Stopped in a few days ago for the first and last time. Had tenders combo. Tenders tasted good and spicy. But were very small, and not very warm. My sides were cole slaw and potatoes & gravy. Was iffy about the slaw, it was not cold. The potatoes and gravy were only slightly warm. The soda was not brixed correctly. Customer service lacking, so decided not to complain… Just not go back…

Morons. They wouldn’t give me hot water for ‘safety reasons’! Also the bathrooms were atrocious… Walked out It’s a shame because I remember Popeyes having good chicken when I was a kid.

What the heck! Ordered the catfish combo and it came without Tatar sauce! Asked and was told they charge for it! Holy smokes, not going to go here to eat any more! Cat fish was ok tasting but very small pieces.

While the chicken was much better and fresher than I expected the sides were what shined. Okay first things first Popeye’s may be a chain but that does not make each one the same. Secondly Popeye’s are not very common in the Pacific Northwest so when one has never tried Popeye’s and its one of only a few options available well… After having to run errands in the area it came near dinner time and it was essentially a choice between Jack in the Box or Popeye’s, having never tried Popeye’s the choice was obvious. However at first glance of the establishment things seemed bleak. Tables and chair were turned upside down as if the were closed or under renovation and it was difficulty to see within to see if anyone was even present. Taking a chance at the drive through sure enough they were open Having been to KFC before I wasn’t sure what to expect. With no real idea what was on the menu besides fried chicken and typical southern sides. So looking at the menu I was rather amused, and excited items ranging from po boys, to a wide variety of sides, seafood and of course chicken. I knew of course I had to order chicken because otherwise how could I truly judge them. Yet when deciding on what sides to accompany my chicken I noticed something. Unlike KFC there was something more«authentic» or more creole or Cajun. KFC has a very generic and appeal to the masses sort of menu whereas here the Cajun and creole influence s defiantly present and looked promising but of course this was just speculation. So I ended up ordering the spicy chicken combo with mashed potatoes and Cajun gravy, in addition I tried the chicken tenders and Cajun fries. When ordering the second strange thing happened after the seating they were apparently out of legs, so my option was a plain leg or spicy thigh obviously I took the thigh because while I do like legs thighs have more meat and for no charge sure why not. Yet this was definitely odd and almost unacceptable. Anyway based off the setting I wasn’t expecting much however the chicken was hit and crispy and pretty delicious. As for the mashed potatoes they were hot as well and decent but it was the gravy that made its mark with the Cajun/creole seasoning almost like a gumbo or jambalaya sauce something different and truly great. Although my meal was great I can’t really complain about anything else. Sure the chicken tenders weren’t anything spectacular but there is a variety of sauces to choose alongside them and the blackened ranch is quite fine. Also I can’t forget the Cajun fries not only would I prefer them over any jo-jo or potato wedge but I might even choose them over the average French fry. Popeye’s seems to land in a funny area. It’s not quite fast food nor is it casual dining. Whatever Popeye’s should be classified as its better than most of the fats food style restaurants that it is so often associated with and surely ranks among the better quick eats.

Great chicken and worth traveling for. Customer service at the window is quick however we are always asked to wait at the entrance after our order for pick up. Strict on their sauces — only 1 per meal. More only with an extra fee. But best biscuits we’ve ever had, our kids love them too. Worst part of this location is the wait time for each order. Average 5 – 10 mins.

I wanted to try a little bit of everything that my stomach can hold so I had 1 chicken drumstick, rice and beans, mashed potatoes with gravy and onion rings. The chicken was their spicy recipe and the skin had a good crunch. It was juicy and flavored well. All the other side dishes weren’t too bad, but I found to be incredibly salty. Oh yea, I still ate it. 3.5 stars. I prefer Popeyes to KFC.

The food was great. The service not so great. I will say this is the first time I have treated so disrespectfully! I am going to tell others about my experience and also write a negative review on Unilocal and other forums. Steph made my family felt disrespected and I felt like we where being discriminated because I had a family and I am a Filipino American. We where trying to move tables so we could share our meals. Suddenly, in a rude voice, steph stated, «you can’t move the tables, but could move seats!» At first I was appalled by the way of her tone of voice, but there was no reason given or signs stating we could not move tables. We would have moved the tables and chairs back. Then, my father who just walked in started moving the table. Once, again steph was rude to my father and stated we could not move the tables. I would have said something to her but my whole family just wanted to eat and leave. Upon us leaving I heard steph in the front counter talking about my family! That’s not very professional and very rude! I felt discriminated because she was only talking about my family and the attitude she gave my family and I. She proceeded to talk about my family as I looked at her and the other worker she was speaking too. I will never come back and popeye’s as a establishment has left a bad taste in my mouth. Not a good experience!

I can’t say that I’m a fan of Popeyes because I have issues with them not adhering to cruelty-free slaughtering of the meat they serve. That being said, if fast food is the only thing around then I’ll order a container of their beans and rice and a biscuit before I’ll grab a burger someplace else. For the beans and rice and biscuits I’m A-OK. They don’t have $ 1 meals but they do offer fair food at a fair price. If you’re salt sensitive beware, they do use a significant amount of salt.

Good cheap fried chicken. Can’t really beat a $ 3 deal for 2 pieces and a biscuit. That biscuit! It’s salty and buttery at the same, so it’s like something so good and something so bad all in the same bite. And it keeps you coming back for more. The chicken was tender on the inside but still nice and crispy on the outside. I didn’t go for hot, as I like the original style better.

Went here last night. It hands out the ultimate in fast food fluff at an exorbitant price. I had been to a Popeye’s once before, in Louisiana, as part of a post Katrina clean-up team. I had me some étouffée, and thought«Not bad for fast food!» Fast forward to Burlington, 2013. Different story, altogether. There was no «chicken» in the«tenders» — only breading! Well, you could find tiny scraps of chicken deep within, if you persevered in your search. You need the investigative skills of a television actor on one of the CSI shows. The science portrayed there is about as real as the chicken at Popeye’s, anyway. To be fair, I halfway liked the taste of the red beans and rice, though it was bean paste, and they didn’t offer the option of whole beans. The price was outrageous. You can order a decent lunch at a Mexican restaurant for the same price you can get a little box of deep fried breading here. Or, go get some teriyaki, instead. Anything but this!

I have been a fan of Popeyes since I spent a few months in Mississippi for military training and Popeyes was my Saturday lunch habit on-base. Ah nostalgia. I would compare Chick Fil-A, KFC, and Popeyes here if I thought it was appropriate, but I just don’t think it is. Popeyes is one of a kind… and very good. First, their biscuits are second to none. The butter spread they brush on top is salty and buttery and oh so tasty. Yes, I am sure it is probably not very good for me, but I don’t eat it everyday… or even more than once a week. Next best, the chicken strips. I usually choose mild, though I would assume the spicy strips are equally fine. The breading is light and crispy, perfectly cooked, and combined with the Mardi Gras dipping sauce, are perfect! Okay, on to a comparison or two. The cole slaw is not as good as KFC’s. The red beans and rice is also better than any other chicken joint. Sure it’s not health food, but it is good and worth enjoying once in a while. And if there are other choices of chicken, I think this should be at the top of your list.
