They will serve you expired drinks, insults and a police phone call. Avoid this place if you are concerned about hygiene and quality, definitely avoid if you are pregnant. I tried this place after some rave reviews from my friends. I was 7 months along and I wanted to try a Limca. After half way through I realized it was an expired drink, expired by 2 years! When we talked to the owner how could he serve such a drink to a visibly pregnant woman, he said thats how they get the product and he was RUDE! He refused to charge me because he didn’t want me to have any proof if I went legal. He even claimed that the food inspectors have never pointed out any problem with the drinks. He talked as if he was delusional or actually paid some good bribe to keep things going. His workers tried to create a scene by talking loudly but I wasn’t about to give up. The owner called the police claiming I with my friends were threatening them. Like I said, I wasn’t going to give up. At the end of a long drama, the officer asked him to apologize to me, gave me the address of the Food Inspection authority and encouraged me to make a complain. This happened in 2014 after which I’m told they moved the drinks section behind the cash counter(earlier it used to be directly accessible to public), so I thought things must have changed. But I just read another patron complaining of expired drinks and this was in june 2015. So I had to write this to let all the fans of this restaurant that there are far better tasting food in Chettinad which is just across the street from this place. Or try Mehfil for some authentic spicy Indian food. Ritu ki Rasoi is a sorry and dishonest excuse for a restaurant.

Great food. The chaat and dosa is very good. The buffet is also very authentic. The only negative is that it’s vegetarian. But trust me u won’t miss the meat…

I have tried every single Indian restaurant in the area, and if not every single place has served me good food, I have been greeted by a smile(even if it’s fake). At this place, after ordering something, and after waiting for 35 mins, I was met by a rude face(the owner), almost angry, telling me, ‘Sir: your food WILL be ready, and when it is ready, we ll tell you, be patient’. The first rule of any business is customer service; if you can’t deal with that, close shop and go home. Even though the food was average(less than average per se), i left immediately. I wish you good luck in your endeavors, but this place is not for me.

Went there the first time today. Was really disappointed by the food… Overpriced buffet, terrible ambience, used plates with leftover were plied up at the entrance of the food service area… They abruptly stopped serving Alacarte. The buffet rates were not displayed and a customer complained that they hiked it up by four dollars… For the over oily, greasy food, sixteen dollars for a buffet is definitely not worth it.

Absolutely horrible! Avoid if you like Indian food! It’s not worth the money that they charge! I went there for Mother’s Day with my family and there was a huge wait to start off. We waited for 45 – 55 mins to get a table and it was so unprofessional. There was so much chaos with people waiting behind all the tables. After we got a table we headed over to the apps bar which had 3 items and the rest were empty because they were still making them. One of the apps they had was mini cocktail samosas. They were the frozen ones you buy from the Indian stores!!! They had the haldirams boxes laying around! If I wanted to make the frozen samosas I would buy them and make them myself and not pay as much. This was a trend in this restaurant. The desserts(rasgullas) was from a tin can as well. Apart from the frozen stuff, it was so hard to get any food. They put out paper plates and paper cups at the restaurant! The food was gone the minute they put it out and there was no one watching the buffet line to replenish the food! There was at least a good 15 minute wait to get the dish you wanted. There was so much curries but hardly any pooris or parthas. They would put a few out at a time and they were all gone in seconds. There was a teenager who stood by the pooris like right in front and stood there eating from his plate and grabbing all the pooris as they put them out! This is so disgusting! Something can fall into the food and it was annoying for people who were waiting and none of the staff said anything to him or did anything! They were only concerned about getting everyone seated and covering the registers. This place was so bad. There were plastic utensils and paper plates and plastic cups and regular frozen food heated up! I spent nearly a hundred dollars at this place to eat frozen food that I could have gotten myself for a fraction of the cost! Worst food! Avoid at all costs

How can this place have an average of 3.5 stars??? Best Indian food I’ve had Massachusetts! Obviously I’m not the only person who thinks that, based on the frequent lines out the door during certain meals. The all-vegetarian thing is a big plus(huge variety of dishes despite that). Probably the best Indian buffet in MA as well. I just wish Ritu would open a second restaurant in Boston or Cambridge, ideally replacing one of many bland Indian restaurants around here.
I like this place and the North Indian food is consistently good. The vada pav, chole batura, samosa chaat and bhel are pretty darn awesome and very close to Indian food in India. South Indian food is average and inconsistent. The medu vada is better during weekdays as compared to weekends, don’t know why this happens but I have noticed this trend. Dosa’s are average too and nothing great to report. Overall good North Indian Street food :-)

Excellent food both south and North Indian. We really liked the dosa. On that day all tables were taken and they told us our order would take a little long. Got us an appetizer on the house while we waited. And it really didn’t take long. The service is great.

Really great food! we came here to have a little late night snack session. The food was absolutely delicious… and they don’t cook with any meat! They only reason I gave one less star was because they have the weirdest hours! my husband and i drove all the way out here from boston twice to have to see the closed sign on the door. make sure to call before going! PS there is this adorably cute half hispanic half indian baby named krishna to greet you there. :)

I have been here 3 times and love, Love, LOVE! this place! I am not indian and I have always been the only american person in here, so I know its awesome and authentic. The owner is at the counter taking orders. She is as sweet as can be and, Oh, SO helpful!!! My husband is a carnivore and thought he would never like anything here. He now wants to go here every weekend! His first bite of Aloo tikki chole he exclaimed, «its like a symphony of flavors». I’m so glad he likes it, we can come here often!

Ritu serves the best Indian food I’ve ever had. Although the menu is strictly vegetarian, non-vegetarians will dine with delight. The flavors are intense and the combination of buffet curries is always different. The regular menu has a good selection of tasty items including vada pav, several chaats and a variety of dosas. First time diners may miss it as it’s not visible from the road; it’s tucked away at the end of a warehouse strip, behind an auto parts store, but once found you’ll be back for more.

This place is good for all kinds of chat. They also have a chat buffet sometimes with quiet a good variety of food. They have a midweek dinner buffet on Wednesdays and will serve regional cuisines native to India. The prices are not bad at all. The chat is relatively cheaper and much more tastier than other places I have tried. Ritu ki Rasoi is my go to place whenever I miss Indian street food and I will usually stuff my face with whatever chat I can get my hands on. There’s always room for improvement though.

Hands down best Indian food in the area(including Boston). We came here on buffet night for the street food cuisine. Unbelievably good. Everything was spectacular, I ate so much I thought I was going to explode. I wish I could make specific food recommendations but I hadn’t even heard of most of what they were serving. It was all new and all delicious. I’ve been told by more frequent visitors that it’s important to check on facebook for what type of cuisine the buffet is that night. I’ve never had Indian dessert before and they had what I can only describe as cake balls soaked in syrup that were literally amazeballs(pun intended).

Decent veg south Indian with items you not typically see on most Indian menus in the Boston area. Counter service like a tiffin room is a plus.

I get that there is limited alternatives to this style/range of snacks but food has become terrible. Went there yesterday and was quite disappointed. I recall Vadapav was atleast good in my past visites but yesterday the vada was almost semi cooked. The worst was Mirchi Bajji… full of paste and seemed like made of capsicum rather than chilis. The Bhelpuri was OK and Pav Baji also not impressive. We have to remember to not go back here as it seems quality is coming down(?). I think Chole Bature type of things must be ok here.

Thought it was Veg restaurant but turned out to be a potato restaurant!!! Was disappointed as most most of the dishes are made out of potato. I guess the restaurant owner/chef forgot that there are other vegetables too!!! But I need to appreciate that all the dishes including the potato dishes were good! One thing I liked about this place is unlimited dosa in buffet! The medu vada was awesome! Horrible service– no refilling of food /plates. Overall a good place for potato and veg lovers!!!

Food is hit or miss, vada pav being consistent with good quality. However, the drinks seem off. The thandai felt harsh in the throat. EXPIRED /STALE SODABOTTLES!!! The Limca bottle had a date of 03/10/2013, not sure if it was the mfg date or expiry date. Even if it’s the latter, there’s no way a 2 ½ year old soda bottle can still be good in June 2015!!! There was no fizz, and it tasted like soap water. We approached the management and he told us that that’s how they receive soda shipments, and they received this stock just 2 – 3 weeks ago(May 2015?). Disappointing experience with a one time favorite place… time to move on to a different place.

Absolutely the best Indian food anywhere! We have become semi regulars at this place venturing here 4 times with many more visits planned. I am proud to have this hidden gem in my town and when people ask me where to eat in Burlington this place is my first recommendation. I recommend going for the buffet on Wednesday nights for dinner or for lunch on weekends. I believe they also do buffets on weekdays for lunch. 15 $ per person for dinner on Wednesday and 13 $ for lunch on weekends is a steal for what you are getting. You can see up to 10 – 12 dishes all varying and all wonderful. There’s usually a few desserts and even a special entrée item that the staff will make for you. If they have a dosa coming around, take one! In my previous review I mentioned one or two dishes may not be your cup of tea, try a little bit of everything and go back for what you love. The staff is excellent. They are super friendly, always willing to help non Indian people get around and offer advice on how to eat certain food. They always greet you and make sure you have everything you need. Most important of all they want to make sure you enjoyed it. Their social media presence is the best of any small family restaurant that I have ever seen. They usually post their Wednesday night and weekend lunch buffet menus online before they happen. This place is actually worth traveling for, and if you come here you will see people(mostly Indian) travel here from all over the state. This is the best of the best. Come here!
