This place is the bomb. Great food, great prices. The staff have always been polite and courteous. What more could you ask for? Glad to see they are doing well and will be branching out with the Nipa Mart next door at some point.

This is a great local restaurant that will provide you a flavorful experience with Filipino food. I have always been a fan of everything from crispy pata, to bitter melon. Having been to the Philippines the food that is at this location is close and comparable. Granted the flavors in the Philippines can not compare. Service is great and the staff will make sure your needs are met. Parking is on Sherman Way and is usually a non issue.

Finally decided to go here for the first time after passing by it a thousand many times. The place is cute and small and straight to the point. You walk in, the food is on display and you just point at what you want and if you want to eat in, their dining room is in the back of the restaurant. The food is mediocre. It helps with sporadic cravings. The people that works there are nice. I’ve never seen the place crowded every time I pass. They do give you a LOT of food for a good price.

It had been quite awhile since I last went there, a couple years anyway, so went back because I had a party to go to. I figured that that a tray of pancit noodles with chicken and vegetables would be safe. It was $ 30. But, nobody ate it at the party. It looked gray and gross after less than one day. I think the ingredients were old. I tried re-heating it in the microwave the next day for lunch and it all melted! I’d appreciate a refund from them, but I’m not likely to get it. I reiterate what I have known about this place all along — the food is bad quality, and as long as not too many people complain, they will just keep doing what they’re doing. They’re in an office building — people need to eat lunch so they will just take whatever they can get since it’s close by. The last time I came there, the portions were so small and the prices are not even low… it’s like they don’t want to be even remotely generous. They give you a scoop of rice and a little bit of each entrée so they don’t run out and have to spend money to make more of it that day. After this, I don’t see myself going there again. I wish there were more Filipino restaurants in the west valley — most of the good ones are in Panorama City.

Purchased a catering order of turon(banana fritter) and it was not up to par. I have had numerous types of turon in my lifetime, and have never had it where the sugar coating looks this sloppy. The sugar coating was gloppy and thick, like sugar candy blobs, to the point of being unservable for fear of breaking people’s teeth. Called to complain, and was just told this is how they do their turon. Yuck. Had to toss an entire order and went to Kalesa Grill instead.

They don’t do the yummy BBQ skewers anymore! There food is ok but the main draw was the mystery meat on a stick:( Too BAD they decided to stop doing that. Now we have to go to pacific island or whatever it’s called on desoto and roscoe for the skewers:)

The place is starting to grow on me again. They do make bomb pulutan(drinking food) like chicharon bulaklak and jephrox

Very tasty food in delicious sauces and generous portions. I had a two item combo with spicy goat stew and tilapia in sweet & sour sauce. Both were excellent. My wife had an eggplant relleno sort of dish and jerk chicken stew. She enjoyed them very much also. My daughter had noodles, rice and empanadas. She liked the noodles and rice but the empanadas were lacking we felt. An all round tasty experience.

Nipa hut has good Filipino food. Being a Filipina, my wife likes to get food from there more often than I do. Most of the time, I am met with disappointment because they don’t make sisig regularly, but when they do, I make sure to get an order of it. There is really nothing special about this place, pretty standard fast food Filipino food, but it is convenient. About a year ago, there was a girl who worked there who had the biggest snobby attitude. It seems that she no longer works there anymore, thank goodness! Oh, one last thing … they have a Nipa Hut Mini Mart right across the walkway, but it is never open! If they ever do open it, they had better make sure they have a good stock of Sarsi cola and I will be a customer for sure!

Probably will not be eating here again. I had high hopes for this spot, but the adobo was bland and oily, like it wasn’t cooked long enough. The lumpia wasn’t too bad, but not great. The empanadas are not made in house and were way too sweet for a savory item. Pass on this and go to Nanay Gloria’s on De Soto.

It’s all about their $ 1 ihaw-ihaw on the weekends! You could never eat too many bbq sticks! The foods here are delicious and if you’re looking for filipino spaghetti this is the place to go!

this place has always have good filipino dishes, especially on weekends when they do bbq late nights, which starts on fridays from i believe 7pm to 11pm, check the place for the sched. My family goes to this place whenever we are lazy to cook meals at home, this is a good fast fix and good quality filipino dish and its close to our neighborhood, rather than going to van nuys

Not bad, not good. Not much to say other than with the limited access to Filipino food in a 20 mile radius, this fill some void but doesn’t leave you satisfied. The adobo was a little too oily and overtook the flavor we all love about adobo.

Went here for breakfast. Plenty of lunch selections early in the day. The fried rice was sticky. maybe too much oil in the rice when stir frying it? Day old or two rice should be used for fried rice instead of new so that it doesn’t stick together like rice balls. Didn’t taste a hint of garlic in the fried rice if it was garlic fried rice. The tapa seemed too dry and needed more flavor. Lots of fat trimmings mixed with meat. More meat should be included in my opinion. Clean place! Generous portions for good price. Coffee should be provided as part of options for drink.

Came by earlier to check out their Ihaw Ihaw etc. Everything looked weird an unappetizing. The fish ball was waaaayyyy too salty! And I don’t like that they don’t have any white meat chicken BBQ. Smh Probably won’t be coming back anytime soon. Is there anybody in the pinoy community who actually eats white meat chicken besides me? Whenever I request white meat chicken at Nipa Hut they look at me like they never heard of white meat chicken. And stop putting pork in everything! Sheesh… Haven’t you all heard of hypertension? Sigh.

Been coming to Nipa Hut for the past nine years, I read the reviews that it was just bought by new owner. Tasting the food with the new owner compared to the old owner it all taste the same and it tastes great. I took my best friend here one time(she is Filipino) and she said the food is okay, she’s had better. I live just 10 minutes away, so I am not complaining. The portions are consistent, very tasty with different types of vegetables and meat. The only thing I don’t like is a soggy rice, so I would just buy individual sides and bring it home and make my own rice.

Legit Filipino food. YUM! I have tried Filipino food before and it has not quite agreed with my palate. The food was either to sweet or too foreign. But ALAS! this place and my taste buddies agree– well at least they used back when I ate meat. Anyway this place still deserves some mad props. For a small price they give a big meal. I mean you probably should break up the meal in several portions to last you a couple of days. Mostly it is pasta and beef. They also serve chicken and pork. I like their spaghetti with sausage, the coconut beef and the ground beef and potatoes. Almost as good as my mom’s beef and potatoes and believe you me that is the highest compliment of which I am capable of :)

Good food, super cheap prices !! They serve their food cafeteria style, and serve it on Styrofoam plates, but it still had that homemade taste ! I like their caldereta and chicken curry. I also like how they have a bunch of Filipino snacks that you can buy on the side. I went their with my bf. And we ordered a 2item and 1 item combo(very generous portions), and we got some snacks and a soda. And it barely came out to over $ 15. The gentleman that works their is super sweet. But the woman is very easily irritated. Since the food isn’t labeled. And I’m not Filipino, I asked her a couple of questions. She was not very happy to answer them ! I gave her the benefit of the doubt, thinking she was just having a bad day. But looking at the other reviews it seems like that’s just how she is unless you’re Filipino ! Anyways. Still worth it ! The food is amazing for the price, so just suck it up, lol.

Yummy Filipino food! My boyfriend comes here regularly and I always try some of his food. What really looks good to me is their fish, I want to try it next time. Their Halo-Halo is great too. I do agree, though that this food does make you burp a lot after, and maybe gives you a slight tummy ache, but I think it’s worth it. I think customer service is great so far. The place is really cute and makes you feel like you’re on a tropical island, for obvious reasons. Parking is in the rear, entrance is to the left of the restaurant for the parking lot.
